yep
whats funny is there are 2 shouts going on in town right now(2 seperate parties), looking for the dungeon access, with only rank 25-30 allowed for it
looks like everyone wants to steamroll it to me!

Don't ask me why people trade efficience for fun - I guess that's the nature of MMO players.
But such systems don't breed happiness or satisfaction.
Easy kills never do.
Unless you are really, really depraved.
Well, I would choose to steamroll it, too.
Because it is fun - no.
But because it is effective.
Some things are for the developers to consider; one of those things is the nature of their players.
Players impose a cap if they want or at worst player stat's are reduced to the Lv cap.
Baring players who only have R30/35+ classes from going again isn't a great idea.
What if people need help and no one has a class low/hi enough they have to just not ever go if they want to do it with friends? Great plan.. lol
Edit:
On the fun subject for mobs..
I'd love to see mobs scale so you get more skills as you rank but what is hard stays relatively hard all the time, no Lv1 mobs or Lv50, Just mobs on a scale from solo easy to group hard.
If you have Rank 1 players they can still do it they are just far less effective as they lack skills/moves/buffs/armour.
Do not cap the low level raids those quest are repeatable... If i want to just get those points so i can skill up crafting faster this is the only way i can do it intill they add repeatable quests. Im rank 50 not rank 25 so it SHOULD be easier for me. If i want a raid to test my skill ....(pause) i will do the raid at my level... not to hard to understand.
Ninja Edit: Sometimes running through low level content is fun. Some people do not want a challeng ever second in a MMO that i will play for years to come. Sometimes its fun to just get your friends and completely destroy content to get the points we need for other content. SE needs to make this game FUN and that does not always mean "difficult" or "Time Consuming" you people need to get that.
WOW was not always dufficult or time consuming (some parts was some wer not) but FF11 was and we see the difference in subs for those games... Case closed.
again, if I'm just gear farming, I'm not looking for "fun" or a "challenge." I'm going in with the intent to acquire gear. I'm not looking for a challenge, sp, fun or whatever. I'm going in that dungeon looking for a specific piece of gear and I'm going to go the most efficient route to getting that gear. In FFXI, going for the lu Shang's rod, did you fish up all 10k moat carp? If you did, you're crazy.
Esk, look at the other thread. Pro argument side is for a FFXI-style cap (which is actually more like a forced synch).
Just that in an MMO, there is no seperate instances of unrelated players. Making a thing more fun for one side makes it less so for another. Oh come on, we already had that one in the other thread, didn't we ~.-/?Quote:
fun is subjective, whats fun for you obviously wont be fun for everyone
@Dubont
What if your only possibility to "farm" gear would include fun?
if there is only 1 possibility, then I would be forced to go with it, but currently, I can farm the dungeon at 50 if I want gear. If I want fun or a challenge, I go in at 30. I've done around 7 r25 runs. 4 of them have been for gear farming at r50 while the other 3 have been for the "challenge" aspect. The dungeon isn't even a challenge, but hey, that's my opinion.
@Dubont
Although I do not agree with you on the topic at hand, I understand your arguments and consider them completely valid. Personally, I preferred the BCNMs of FFXI that synched you down to the ...respective... level, and "forced" you to face a challenge. But meh. I'll be able to cope.
Nothing wrong with not having level cap either.
I would prefer level sync available in the dungeons (and across the whole world), which pretty much lets you choose if you want to scale to low lvl party member or do whatever it is you're doing as high level.
who cares? If you don't want to do it with 50s then don't! It's easy to grab 3 other people in that range and go in. Why the heck is everyone always so worried about what others are doing? That's the way my girls are and they are 5 and 9 years old.
I'd like level cap BUT I'd like to be able to solo these with no cap at all.
Getting a pt together with the current population is a rare occurrence.
I also don't see PTs running around either. I hear it's easier to find pts for the R50 dungeon? I haven't tried that myself because I sort of want to use this character as my main now and it'll be a long time before I get there, which is okay I'm not in a rush =)
I'd like to see them make it so once you enter a dungeon you can't change class or skills around anymore so you have to enter the dungeon with "What you bring is all you get" type mentality.
The boss is easy enough with 4 25's if you have a half assed pt (You don't even need a mage/healer lmao). Caps limit freedom and Yoshi already stated he wanted freedom to be a big part of the new changes... soooo... not going to happen >.<
Plus any party that "Needs" players to switch classes at end boss or above rank 30 are pretty sad already... These people not learning to play or conquer something as easy as Toto will never get better, that's punishment enough LoL If anything they need to add the restriction of not changing classes while inside dungeons :P But dunno if they would even do that >.>
Then no I do much prefer my idea of just placing a limit on the stats over actually having my rank reduced, meaning not being able to use gear/rank/skills which I have (as the new gear has a min requirement).
Actually reducing the rank of my char to the cap is almost as bad as the limit idea.
A pure stat reduction would leave the dungeon easier then doing it at R25 but the reduced stats would still mean it is somewhat of a challenged all be it not as much.
But that would make more sense, given I go to the dungeon and I suddenly cant use my good gear and i forget how to do Several skills?
Ok its a game but still seems a bit of a meh idea..
