I'm a bit meh at the recruiting reward thing since I thought this was a marriage thing. (What we don't know is ANYthing besides 'know of a second new account that paid for 3 months' and get a reward.) I'm concerned now about the 'dyed birds may be only wing tips' thing. :/ Sure it's jumping to conclusions... but, on the off chance this is EXACTLY what SE is thinking, don't... just no... (personally) I don't care if it's delayed another half year or more, make the entire bird color changeable.

The "Recruit Now" link at the bottom would seem to indicate it's live but I'm surprised this is the first many of us have heard of this.

The mount itself is in the game files already. It's been datamined.
There was just no information about how to obtain it.

I love the outrage over this.

A bonus. For recruiting a friend to the game. Completely optional and in no way game changing.

Might as well put in a full pay to win cash shop, right guys? It's not like every other MMO has recruit a friend features (you know, to create incentive, not only for new players but existing players as well)

I can see how people would be annoyed if they've already recruited friends to the game and now they can't get it from the friends they've already recruited.
Maybe SE will sort out a fix for this?

If a random on reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...mpaign/cjcwsqf) is to believed, it is live and you can get it with game cards already. Not going to test it out myself though.

what grinds my gears is all of my friends have already either came to the game sometime between 1.0 an now, or have came an tried the game an left. So now I have nobody left to refer. :( Hell, I myself am still on my wifes buddy pass from 1.0 release, should be able to qualify jsut for that fact right there, but I bet I wont.

I associate the white tipped friend recruitment Chocobo with the black tipped Legacy Chocobo. Meaning that it will be a feature for everyone, but only those who qualify for this particular one will get this colour in the feature. So no stress people.

However.
I would like to see a limited time campaign where we can register the friend code once for those of us who have already recruited people into the game successfully...since right now you need a new account to register these friend codes it really is quite annoying.

I hope they at least make this available to current users...i.e That I can refer my friends to keep on subscribing, instead of getting bored and never paying to play this again? >.<

Well Screw us that invited friends since launch....

Maybe they'll consider a retroactive action for those of us that invited people before. Unlikely, but not impossible. Also I wouldn't worry about the mount for getting married. When they introduced the mount they clearly had the concept art for what the married mount would look like. They also showed what the basic dual mount looks like. Seeing that we have two different Goobbue(1.0 and beastman) and chocobo(legacy and GC) mounts already, its not hard to see there being two different dual mounts. Just wait in see, that's what its going to be. You midaswell start complaining about how your married mount is stuck with that barding. I'm sure that will come to pass sooner or later.

What bothers me the most is all those people who recruited their friends at launch, especially through provable means such as the friend passes will get nothing for this. Its like were just being lured into making a second account just to get such an important tool because all of our friends already play or have an account at least.

I... don't see the problem here. The two-person chocobo for recruiting players makes sense. You can't use a chocobo in-game until you join a Company, and that's locked behind 20-30 quests. Assuming your recruit takes their time, or goes for the subscription deals, chances are you'll get your passenger chocobo before they get their Company chocobo. Or better still, you can travel together to their quest fights and help them where able! No, what gets me is that head armor... +20% exp till level 25?! Leveling isn't that hard to need that big a boost! Especially not at level 1-25.

You know, I'm wondering what I'm missing. Who cares if you don't get any of these items? They all look like novelty items you'll get bored of after a day anyway. Hands up who actually uses their Bomb Earring!

Looks like someone's desperate for subs. Either way there's more info suggesting rewards like these stay exclusive just like veteran rewards aren't available elsewhere but who knows, they might add a double seat goobbue or something, they did make Aetheryte tickets available for purchase with marks.

it's functionally different from other mounts, that's why it's not a pure novelty. if there's definitely a way to get dual rider mounts via another method, most people should be fine with it.

No announcement at all, suddenly there's a friend referral system that gives out an exclusive thing tons of people have been waiting and looking forward to for ages - all the while screwing people who actually already recruited their friends before this day over.

The only part of this that mildly irks me is that I've invited two friends already, one of which was invited very recently and still has the green "New Player" icon next to his name, but there's no way to redeem this code on a current account (even if they're brand new) unless I get someone to completely register an account from scratch. It kind of burns people who have already sought to turn other people onto the game.

If this is the new thing to be angry about does that mean we have moved on from being angry about hunts? Can't wait to see what the next rage craze is!

They did already show us a design (even if it was just concept art) for the wedding Chocobo, and I doubt they'd scrap the idea after showing it to everyone.
