If you want to spend an additional 33 hours for 1 to 2 dps - have at it. I still think you're a little bit too over confident in your ability to SB in 30 minutes but I won't penalize you for that. Still 33 hours based on what you said.

Must get perfect stats on Novus because OCD.
Yes it is. Remember that you're not dpsing alone. Besides, what else are you gonna spend your Gil on? people sit on millions of gil because there's nothing really worth to buy in FFXIV economy other than materia (talking about items that require time farming gil) and furnitures I guess?
As I mentioned before - a BLM can easily do 400+ DPS on the highest levels of content. 1 to 2 dps is literally an extra second worth of damage every 4 to 5 minutes of spamming spells. It won't be noticeable in the slightest. The fact that a BLM is going to be dodging AOES -only means it's going to take much longer to gain that one extra second of dmg. You could easily go an entire boss battle and not see it. And if you do see it...nobody will notice.
I agree. The cost-to-usefulness ratio for a 44/31 Novus is not much better than a build with 3 or 4 minor stats. You would only make a 44/31 if min-maxing was your goal. Then again, if you are a min-maxer, why would you build a Novus to begin with?
Pure anecdotal evidence and conjecture. 15 to 20 Determination is an approximate of 2-3 DPS which is half a percent increase on a 430 average DPS. People give way too much credit to secondary stats.
It's been calculated and pet accuracy trumps pathetic amount of secondary stats gain. If you want to believe otherwise and live in denial, be my guest.
Because everyone has all the time in the world to do that, right? . it has nothing to do with "lazy" some people actually have other things to do. that is assuming you Get the right materia to sell for high price, and the "quick" runs to bind said materia, for that 30 minutes time frame you set, and in enough quantity AND not undercut by everyone else doing the same thing, and no matter how you look at it 1-2 dps for 10m will never be a smart investment.
Your entire post itself is incredibly stupid.
While not something you should grind for I could see why someone would if they've got the cash.
To give a smaller scale example, when patch hit I wanted to augment my scholar coat, because I love everything about that coat except the color scheme. But it'd cost me about a fifth of my gil. So there's a stingy part of me that says not to do it. But cash unspent, at least in a game, doesn't mean a thing. It's just a number on your screen. So, got my coat, really like it and that money was made back in a week.
Someone min maxing their relic, same thing. A 1 dps upgrade is 1 more than gil normally can buy you. If that gives them some satisfaction, good for them.
Gil's not that useful. So in the rare case you see a chance to buy something you want with it, you should take it.
