I'm sad, my Titan-Egi never got an opportunity to roll on a tank ring. :(
Never quite saw the issue with titan egi tanking actually. Earth elementals should logically be strong vs lightning.

You tell me how he would be able to wear that if he did win the ring :P
-Fixed an issue where pets other than Garuda-Egi were used.
Yay I got my job back
As much as I found using Titan-egi to tank Ramuh to have been a clever use of mechanics, this was change was bound to happen sooner rather than later. Though now it makes me wonder just how effect Titan-egi will be in other content like, say, Copperbell Mines (normal). Speaking from personal experience, I have used the Titan-egi to tank entire dungeons because it was doing a better job than the tank (or if the tank was having trouble handling large packs of mobs and creating undue stress on the healer). As it is, Titan-egi is barely useful when I'm out soloing.

"I was finally useful, but they took it away from me..."
"Do...Do you still like me senpai?"
Rip smns may you find your way into ramuh ex parties in the weeks to come.
Titan egi will shine bright once again someday but for now, he will only shine bright in your hotbar unused.
Perhaps exploit wasn't the right word. But its definitely not the way the devs had intended it to be done, hence the rollback. Not that there was anything wrong with the strategy though. It was a creative, albeit faceroll, way of doing the fight. It also helped learning groups learn the fight faster.
And yet they left turn 2 enrage method unchanged.
You realize back when T5 came out, there was a bug where people were using the elevation in there to negate some of Twin's actions. Some people actually got banned from this. So based on your argument, why is one an exploit and the other not? Also, Titan-EX has been done with solo-tanks - isn't tank-swap an "intended" mechanic here? This an exploit too? If you push DPS to skip a phase of a battle and skip a mechanic, is that also an "exploit" by your definition?
The definition of an "exploit" can't be based on something so arbitrary as how someone thinks the game "should be played" lol. What if someone else thinks the game "should be played" differently? Who is right? Who gets to draw the line of what is an "exploit" and what isn't. What's the "intended" mechanic for dealing with slugs in T6? - is there any official word on this? Super Slug? Hold Slugs? Burn Slugs? If people just LB2 the slugs, they skip the slug-eating-acid mechanic - so ban them all for "exploit" lol ?
An exploit would be something that can't be argued against with subjective opinions. For example, if using Titan-ex Egi caused Ramuh to freeze up and stop doing moves, and you took advantage of this bug - ok, now that would be an exploit since it would be clear that it basically glitched and "broke" the fight. Back when people were first tackling Titan-HM, there was a clear exploit were you could basically freeze up Titan. Again, anything regarded an actual *exploit* should be something obviously broken that no one can argue against.
The Titan-Egi tanking case if anything can be seen a game-design oversight that the developers felt need fixing to restore intended balance to the game. It's sort of similar to when a competitive game such as a fighting game, RTS, FPS, etc. has a character or unit that's so overpowered that everyone starts using that one character/unit. The developers didn't intend the game to be unbalanced in this way or played in this manner, so eventually patch or update the game to restore the intended balance and encourage the game to be played "the way it's intended". But the players were not "cheating" or using an "exploit" simply because they saw this imbalance in the game and basically took the most advantageous course.
2 things
1. It didn't ignore the mechanic, it just didn't take the dmg the mechanic was intended.
2. Tanking chimera on top of the hill is NOT LOS as you are still standing right in in front with nothing obstructing his view. You are tanking chimera at an elevated position and its negating a mechanic
