I posted one as well for votes the second the site went live. But mines more just about FFXIV and not Skyrim lol.

Sorry to say but we already have the PS3 holding back what the developers are capable of when making content for the game. They're already planning to cut off the PS3 version some time after the 1st expansion. We don't need the xbone holding the game back with its hardware being inferior to the PS4.
PS3 is struggling, WiiU will be in the same position or worse. I know SE is considering releasing the game on XBONE and I believe it could handle it, but I don't feel it should go to lolwiiu or any of the last gen consoles.
As far as I'm concerned anyone who was foolish enough to throw their money at Microsoft after last year's E3 conference deserves what they get. I also read that since Microsoft servers would have the best separate from the rest of the servers.
That said I'm all for it being on the Wii-U if they want to play fair with the rest of us unlike Micro$oft.
X-Box One sale less than PS4 (Increase sales - Check!)
X-Box One is built exactly like a PC (PC title easy to bring -Check!)
And, by the way, X-Box 360 was built like a PowerPC, not a PC (Like PS3 and Wii) so porting FFXI may have been harder than porting FFXIV now. In fact, porting FFXIV on XB1 is technically easier that doing it for the PS3 :p
FFXIV could be the exception for X-Box One.
The PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and Wii U are all PowerPC-based. That first statement is off.

But yes, an Xbox One port would be much easier to maintain than a PS3 port, as much of the code could probably be shared with the PS4 version. Both consoles have pretty similar hardware, and have identical architecture in terms of CPU and GPU. (They do have differences, but nothing really that extreme. Both are pretty much your regular x86 PCs)
I wouldn't be surprised if Square-Enix had a working Xbox One port, but simply can't release it because of licensing agreements.
i feel old... wonder how many know this:

I just want FFXIV for Mac and i will be happy :)
How much more profit would XBox players really bring in? Aren't they more horny for FPS games than RPGs?
Xbox and its "we're the most toxic gaming community in the history of gaming" live serivce deserves nothing, should never have the game, and can go die in a ditch.
Nintendo is to dumb and bassackwards to be able to create a system capable of playing the game.
Running it on linux, i would have no issue with that.
They wouldn't bring in anywhere near as much as the current platforms. Remember, the Japanese have a SERIOUS distaste for the xbox brand. FF11 failed hard on xbox. and the xbox players generally do flock to FPS over RPGs. Besides, people already want the PS3 dropped, so why would any want to include another system that wont be half as good as the PS4 setup?
FFXI sold 300k units on PS2 and at least 190k units on X-Box 360. In what world is that "failed hard"? It was one of the most played games on X-Box Live for quite some time.

Thanks and good point. Slatervonjager is welcome to their opinion, however this kind of thought only hurts XIV. If you like the game, having more people apart of our community is a good thing. Sure we will get some bad apples, but we have those already and eventually they will move on to something else.
From the sound of it they have run into some bad apples, but not everyone on live, or Wii, or psn falls into that category.
While I am perfectly content playing FFXIV on my PC (and occasionally my Vita when I can), I am a full supporter of it going to Mac/Linux. I'd also want it to go on the Wii U, but the game wasn't really made for that platform and it kinda has to be.
What limitations? Porting the game to the X1 wouldn't add any more limitations as it is technically in par with the PS4. Plus the lead platform for this game is the PC, so it will continue to grow and they even said they would leave the PS3 behind after the first expansion if the population has upgraded themselves. :)
The xbone has inferior hardware. Mainly it has slower ram and a weaker graphics card. Between the inferior hardware, having to get around microsoft's annoying policies (which includes having to get every update through some sort of checklist of microsoft's which tends to slow down updates), and the fact that people would be forced to pay for xbox live on top of the game's monthly fee just to play the game (you don't have to pay for PS+ to play mmos on the PS4 but you do for the xbone) it would just be a waste of resources. Also technically the PS4 and xbone would both limit the game since they're just low spec PCs at this point.
I don't really understand the point of this thread... the WiiU could NEVER run the game as it's weaker than the PS3 and the PS3 is already running at its limit. The XBoxOne will never run the game because M$ insist the game be isolated behind their Live service which means isolated servers and an additional Live subscription fee to play it. YoshiP has already said he has no intention of porting it to XBox for that very reason.
Then there is the added problem of more platforms = longer development for updates. Each platform will require its own QA and M$ is infamous for forcing patches through a stupid vetting process that delays them even more.
If you then look at FFXI on consoles you'll notice that the game eventually outstripped the PS2's capabilities and the console was holding development back. FFXIV has ALREADY reached that stage with the PS3 and thankfully it's going to be dropped after the first expansion, but it'll only be a few years before even the PS4 is maxing out on the game and people start calling for the PS4 to be dropped... Considering that the XBoxOne is actually technically inferior to the PS4 it'll just be an added deadweight around the game's neck.
The demographic of gamers on the XBoxOne is mostly the brogamer type playing shooters and sports sims. Any RPG fans would have been VERY unlikely to buy the console due to the poor showing of RPGs on the 360. I guarantee you the majority of RPG gamers are on the PS4 which leaves very few new players to target on XBoxOne.
So what do we have? A non-existent target audience on a console that would only hold the game back... Now why would we want FFXIV released on XBox?
Final Fantasy 14 on the virtual boy or bust. Now imagine that monstrocity!
So in summary a whole bunch of your opinion of why you think one is better. I'm referring to the idea of "inferior" which implies that X1 can't do what PS4 can, but that's not true at all. What's closer to the truth is that PS4 does easier, then what X1 does. PS4 is clearly more developer friendly this round then the X1.
I do agree with the policy issues at Microsoft, and if they want to stay competitive they will need to step up their game so to speak.
But regarding to specs of the systems. XIV has been setup in a very scalable architecture, so we really won't see any hardware limitations for some time to come, what we will see a lot of is development taxation which can be offset with higher subscription numbers.
Yoshio-P said in an interview. I don't have the full quote, but the idea is that sometime after the first expansion they would evaluate the population playing on the PS3 and decide if the 2nd expansion would be made foe it. The game would continue to run, just for future content expansions they wouldn't be supported. This is all up in the air right now as if the majority od XIV players are still on PS3 they might continue to support that version rather then alienate the player base. Time will tell.
Yoshio-P wants to bring the game to the X1 as he has said multiple times, however he won't split the player base, which I think we all fully support. The point of this thread is to bring attention to some ways we can voice our support of Yoshi-P to Microsoft.
Also, the Wii-U is more powerful then the PS3, but its no where near that of the PS4 and X1.
Wii U port would be great because of the controls but please people stop begging for X1 port.
SE has stated several times that Microsoft will not allow for the sub plan to bypass the gold requirement and there's not going to be anything that can be done about that.
Also a multiplatform title has a very specific set of rules the release process must follow that XIV:ARR at this time has already irreversibly failed at by for example releasing the product on PC and ps3+4.
If you want ARR on X1 go send letters to Microsoft about it. This is absolutely not the place where port begging for it will do any good.
Yoshida has said something to the effect of dropping PS3 support after the first expansion IF player support for the PS3 dwindles enough to justify it, just like XI with the PS2 (which is still whole-heartedly supported in Japan for the very reason that players still play it on the PS2 there, whereas outside of Japan they only offered PC downloads of their latest expansion). It's all a wait-and-see for Square. What's the hold-up? Well, one of the issues is the fact you have to buy the game for every console you want to play on unless you 'upgrade' which then locks you out of the console you upgraded from. Then there's that not everyone's gone out to buy a PS4, I know I haven't. My PS3 still works and all the games I'm seriously considering on the PS4 won't be out till next year at the earliest so I think I can hold off on buying one just yet.
As for Microsoft's consoles... it's been said already, but seems to need repeating. XI on the 360 happened because Microsoft desperately wanted some measure of influence in Japan and who better than Square to give that. So they bent over backwards to make Square happy. Failed as every other measure before it. Microsoft won't make that move again, they want to control the game as it'd exist on their console and Square doesn't want that. Heck, Square got angry about the credit services they contracted to handle XIV 1.0's subscriptions charging international currency exchange fees, canceled the contracts and brought the subscription services in-house like they were doing with XI. Square does NOT want to charge more money than they have to for something as basic as subscription fees.
"The policy has not changed on Microsoft's side," he revealed. "The main reason from our side is that I don't want the community to be divided; to be split into two or more. For example, one player might be on the PC version, another might be on the PS4 version, and I'm playing the Xbox version - but we're not able to join the same game servers. That is just... I just don't like the idea. I disagree with it."
"I would love for as many players as possible to enjoy the game worldwide, so from a business point of view it could make sense to have it on the Xbox platforms. But as I mentioned earlier, that would bring about the tragedy that somebody might have to give up their existing character. Then players might get frustrated, and then they ask us - 'Square Enix, can't you do something?' and then... yeah. Unless that happens, we can't really do anything."

XI happened just before they changed their policies with no cross server. MS actually hated the fact that you did not have to pay for Live to play a multiplayer game on their system... like all of their other multiplayer games.
It wasn't about impact so much as M$ wanting money for live subs.
Heck I even bought an xbox strictly so my wife could play XI when her computer broke (because it was cheaper than a new PC). Never paid for live the entire time she played.
Cross platform will never really be something MS is going to invest in (based on my opinion from when I worked for MS) because they want it all for themselves. They don't want to share. They don't want to play nice.
Wii U would be good, but so would X1....
Your point about paying for Xbox Live is pretty stupid actually... (no offense) Xbox Live costs very little actually, and if you play any other game online, you would pay it anyways.... If you play X1 without Xbox Live, you're missing out on 90% of the console.
The only problem with adding more consoles, are that we will get even more bad players and a-holes...
I'm not trying to undermine console players (I play on consoles too), but there are a lot of players on consoles that have never played an MMO before. Some are willing to learn, but a lot only plays it like any other RPG, and don't want others to interfere with that... in other words, they play the way they want, and if you true to help them out, they get angry and ignore/"attack" you....
I guess it's worth it in the end though... the playerbase will get much bigger
Live may not be expensive, but as has been the case in the past, Square does not want to force people to pay two subscriptions just to play their games. Sure, Live is a 'vital' part of the XBox experience, but it's not any part of the Final Fantasy MMO experience.

Thanks for all the support so far, keep it up and lets let Phil Spencer know what we want. :)
