They made very clear each character 300k. Sidenote they also said personal housing 3.8. So ask yourselves. Is the private rooms worth it?

Probably we can. Personal room are tight to the FC while personal house well if your own separate from the FC.

That's cool. The FC I'm in is based out of Mist, but I want my personal house to be in the Goblet. Hope I can live in both areas.

Why so many people are upset about 300k? You have still have over 3 weeks, I don't see why this is a big deal. Farm 1500-2000 myth get 3-4 crafting items sell them, Duty Roulette Bonus, Beastmen Tribe Dailies, Trade ilvl60,70/Dark light gear for GC seals and then buy Crafting items and sell them. 300k in 3 weeks should not be hard for anyone, Even those of us farming Myth for Animus/Novus.

I think you are misunderstanding. the 300k is what they are now saying for the personal room in the FC house. which Yoshi-P told us would be free in one of his live letters. I'm not happy with the idea of paying for a private room inside the FC house. I think this is a rather bad decision on their part.
the 850k you are remembering is for personal housing which I don't think is a bad price and I'm ok with

I don't recall them ever saying that the personal FC rooms would be free. Looking through the Live Letter logs I see nothing about that either, unless you're referencing some pre-release where they said you'd get 25% bonus xp for having FC housing or something.

Either way, I see the 300k fee being a one-time toggle and the room carrying with you no matter what FC you're in, just need an FC with a house to access it.

edit: Ah I see the thing where you can't leave an FC if you have a room furnished, so I guess it's a per-FC fee. That's kind of crazy but if you're not an FC jumper that doesn't change much.

At this point, I would just like an inn room/mog house that I could decorate myself. I was looking back through some old XI screenshots and found my old Mog House all done up with the random event decorations and furniture. Sure it was small, but it was cozy and personalized. Houses are too big of a fuss in this game :/

I just think people are put off by the big numbers, not realizing gil inflation is astronomically high and that the large numbers are meaningless.

I'm curious if we're going to be able to use the aesthetician (apparently that's not a word, but that's what it is lol) in the personal rooms. If so, then goodbye inn room forever~! lol That's the only reason I actually go back to it now since my fc has a house

We can't even have them in FC houses, so I doubt they'd provide them for personal rooms.

Seriously for anyone complaining, 300k is not a big deal. This is like 1/10th the amount of money I've seen some crafters in my LS drop into trying to master their craft (just one) due to bad rng luck w/ melds. I have two classes to 50 and one gatherer at like 40 which I don't even use, and I was still able to contribute over 3 million gil to an FC house and within two weeks make half of that back. SBing gear, farming popular mats, and just doing your roulettes... come on people, basically if you just PLAY THE GAME until FC personal rooms are available and save your money instead of buying some vanity minion or whatever it is you might waste your money on until then, you will have the 300k. Seriously.

Also, to the people who are complaining about 300k. That's nothing >.> I'm definitely the lazy type when it comes to making gil and I can still get 300k just by doing challenge log + roulettes each day and that's it lol It takes a few days but yeah, it's nothing hard.

meh, as I said before it isnt the 300k price tag that bothers me, its that it's tied to the FC so if you decide to leave you have to lose it. I'm not okay with this it is a feature that should have no gil price attached to it. heck I'm okay with the 850k price they were talking about for personal housing so that should atleast tell you something.
again it isn't the price that bothers me so much its having it attached to the FC house and still having to pay 300k for it

Last time I checked you couldn't decorate the Inn Room like you wanted.

Entitlement much? They didn't have to add personal rooms to the FCs when they were going to allow us to own our own houses in the future. But they did, and it's an extra feature for FCs. Pay up. It's not like 300k is that much money. I could make that much at least every day if I really wanted to. Instead I settle for collecting my sellable materials over time then selling them when I have too much.. but also when the demand for them is high so I can get a good sale price for them. I just donated 200k to my FC, will probably make it back up by the end of the week just by playing casually.

Yeah...300k is not that bad...but I do remember "someone" in the developement team saying that this room would be free when it came out. oh well, it is what it is and we just keep on moving...it is just a game...eh?

I have enough gil for both a FC room and a personal house (if the numbers quoted in this thread are accurate) already just from doing dailies and roulettes and I'll still have gil left over. And I freaking suck at making gil...

I plan to get both too, because I love my FC. <3

You can make more than 300k by just completing story mode. So I really don't see how people are crying about that. All that level 4 materia you get can probably sell for about a million with current prices if not more.

In patch 2.3 the default setting for Private Chambers will be set so that anyone is able to access your room and you’ll be able to choose between a setting to open your room to others or to only allow yourself access.

Yah I wish they would clarify this. I don't envy the devs on this one though because on one hand if you cant remove someone with a room then you're stuck with the person, but on the other hand if you CAN kick someone with a room then someone could get kicked because their FC leader was in a bad mood and lose their investment. They haven't even clarified if it's going to be a permission the leader can set, though that could cause drama in and of itself if FC leaders get selective.

that got me wonder about chocobo raising too. so if someone raises a chocobo and then they got kicked, what's going to happen to their chocobo?

Is there any advantage to having a personal room? Or is it just fluff content that doesn't have any impact on your game progression.

If you're looking at it with a "What can this do for me?" attitude/viewpoint then the answer is: It does nothing for you.

It is "fluff" or whatever that means. It's just a personal room to decorate and hang out in, by yourself or with other FC friends. The same as FC/Personal housing, except on a smaller scale.

To me, I would view this as something extra to have. For FC members who do not own or are co-leaders with options to change the FC house decor this is a way, say if you don't like the way your FC has decorated but have no way of changing what it looks like, to decorate your own space how you prefer. A fun addition for players who don't have the option to decorate a house can now decorate their own room at the least.

Though I believe that after a FC has hoarded enough gil to buy a house players shouldn't have to spend more gil for personal rooms... 300k is ridiculously easy to get.

Maybe I've missed something on latest dev's blogs or producer 's letter, but can someone point me to the sources that said:

- FC personal room pricing is 300k
and:
- FC members with a personal room cannot be kicked out the FC

Just want be sure there aren't 8 thread pages made from thin air.

I can`t imagine that aynone joins a FC spends 300k just to troll. That will be hard to find but I will not rule that possibility out completely.

EDIT: Remember that 300k will be a lot of money for a very very very long time.
