I believe there are rewards that are different with each company might be an idea to check them all out first before you make your choice.

Did SE state you could do missions from any company anytime? Or are you locked to one like the story missions for the cities in XI are? Anybody have any information on this?

For now, SE says, you won't be bound to a company, so you can work for all of 'em and see what they have to offer.

Well as long as you are ranked "Recruit" in any company you are not bound to it. Currently with 1.18 Recruit is the only rank you can obtain. In 1.19 they will be putting the advanced ranks in and at that point you likely won't be able to switch once you make a choice.

I'll try all of them I guess, but I really want to stick with the Maelstrom:)

Gridania mainly "I'll try the others" but I don't want to go to Ul'Dah it will be crazy crowded.

I will be joining the company offering the most cake.

While I'm sticking with the place I intended to roll on, I will be jealous of all the people of Limsa for having the most kick ass female in all of Eorzea!

As long as this gets people out of Ul'dah <.<

I'm starting to lean toward Limsa, but we'll see.

It would be nice if people could also be found in other cities than Ul'dah, but I kind of..don't want my beloved Limsa to become crowded..:(

I assure you its not sudden for most, definitely not me. I've been waiting for leve balance and the companies so I can finally ditch the Ul'dah scene.

Yeah, I love limsa. But after beta, I got so sick of it that I went with Grid. Hated that place and so when I rerolled I went with Uldah since everyone was there. But, I'm starting to miss the ambiance and music of Limsa.

Maelstrom. Why?

1. The Leader has a gun called the Death Penalty (FF7 reference)
2. Pirates
3. Pirates have guns, hopefully gunblades too
4. Im a Pirate (in-game)
5. Im a pirate in need of a gun

Twin Adders. Grid is my home town, and I'm tired of everything being centered around Ul'dah. Of course, that may not change anyway lol. But I'll be parking myself right at the Gridania wards when the game goes down.

unless the twin adders really impress me will probably be a toss up between the immortals and the maelstrom.

of course if there is a bit of fan service with the smexy admiral in the even swim suit then that might be the desiding factor for me. lol

I think it's more a reference targetted at FFXI, in that she wields the relic and mythic guns (two of the strongest in the game), whilst Kan wields a relic staff and Raubahn (which is the name of the 'Immortals', a group of blue mages) wields Tizona, a mythic sword from XI.

But yeah death penalty was a reference to VII back in XI, too.

Merlwyb seems like she might be the coolest of the leaders, I'm pretty torn between the maelstrom and the immortal flames, mainly because I loved Aht Urghan back in XI and the blue mage storyline was awesome, and it makes me nostalgic.
