Considering quitting (Hear me out).

Start your own learning party, find interested people, see if you can get them together multiple times per week with the hopes of clearing in mind. T5 is ridiculously easy with the echo buff. Last night we did about 15 garuda ex's DF'ing 1 person and were clearing them in about 7 minutes. Maybe you need to move to a bigger server. Balmung always has stuff going on.

Nope it's the 3rd or 4th largest NA server. It's not pop for sure.

We have recruited a bit in our ls. The biggest problem I have seen lately is that people that join expect everyone to drop what they are currently doing and cater to their every need. Well the

reality of the situation is that we have scheduled help / raid days. If its not on those days then if people don't want to help so be it. So some of the overly sensitive / me now players get butt

hurt and leave. So when they do, I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for them because unfortunately for them the real world nor the game world revolve around one person. Now I am not

saying that's the same story for op but, I am on op's server and this is what I have seen as of lately.

With the echo there is no good reason to complain about being stuck on Garuda Ex. You clearly aren't even trying as I've Duty Findered a win recently on that one. It is most definitely possible. You need to put more effort to make the game into what you want it to be. It sounds to me like you want to sit back and be handed a static and a winning group by an existing FC. Take charge of your own destiny.

It has nothing to do with Elitism. When you still can't beat content that is over four months old and even has up to a 25% Healing/HP/damge buff then it makes me wonder if that someone is even really trying. They aren't making their own parties in order to control the rules otherwise they wouldn't complain about three strike parties. They aren't making friends in the FC that would be willing to come help otherwise they wouldn't be complaining that no one wants to help. They simply aren't trying. This has nothing to do with Elitism and everything to do with people just wanting an easy handout. We have the same problem in my guild lately. There is a subsection of the FC that likes to create parties and throw their face at content in order to learn it. Then you have the other section who wants us to make parties to help them every single step of the way. The problem is they don't just want a learning party. They could get that together on their own easily. They want a group of 7 players who they know can already do it so that they can "learn" for 2 or 3 attempts before we just get them the win via a carry. Then they move on never to do the fight again because they've cleared it. Then a month later they still don't know how to do the fight because they never smashed their face off of it properly so they would learn it right. These players never make good coil static candidates, and I never want to invite them to our farming runs. Good players take an active roll in smashing their face off these fights. They don't wait for others to do it for them.

Well from what I'm reading, putting in one's own effort isn't really the issue here. I can't think of a single part of the entire game other than select Guildhests where a single player can completely carry their team to victory, least of all the EX Primals and Coil. It requires a team effort with all eight players operating as a single, cohesive unit.


If one or more of those players has difficulties with mastering the mechanics of a boss fight, then the entire party suffers for it. This can make it EXTREMELY hard to clear many aspects of the endgame.

I personally spent four solid months trying to get a single win on Garuda EX. Four months. Because my FC would not help me and every party looking to run Garuda was filled with people who had cleared it, were farming it, and were completely unwilling to accept people who wanted to learn it. I started a large number of learning parties on my own. At least twenty. Didn't beat it one time. Eventually, one day, I just got really lucky. Then I spend four solid weeks trying to get a single win in Titan EX. Same issue. My FC would not help me, every party looking to run Titan was filled with people who didn't want to help others learn it, I started my own learning parties, and I eventually got lucky four weeks later.

It can be EXTREMELY HARD to clear endgame content unless you are a part of a dedicated group of people who operate as a single cohesive unit. As someone who, despite being in a large number of FCs, has always forced his way through as much endgame content as possible without any help from friends or FC-mates whatsoever, I know EXACTLY how hard it can be to clear the endgame without any kind of a static party. It got so bad, that I actually started up a linkshell to help people with the endgame JUST so that people wouldn't have to go through the same agonizing bullshit I had to go through on my own.

To be honest, to assume that it is easy to get a group of able-bodied adventurers together and run endgame content successfully is actually kind-of elitist, because it assumes that A.) Everyone working on the endgame knows what they're doing and, if not, can easily adapt, B.) Simply asking for a learning party will immediately get at least one or two people who want to help teach other people how to run content, and C.) Everyone who isn't able to clear endgame content is lazy and feels they need to be carried through it.

It is really hard. You want to see how hard? Stop running endgame with your FC for a few days, form every single one of your parties through Party Finder, and let the frustration commence!

To the op the issues is the games design itself.

The content is throw away content so once a group is past something it is very rare they will go back. Or if they do you will see those massive restrictions. Garuda and t5 for example drop subpar gear compared to sol. token gear and coil 6-9. So anyone who has past it will unlikly go back unless they are really bored or helping a friend. It is called content negation. Most endgame guilds will require you to have access to coil 6-9 and levi before you can join.

People are elitist because it is a rush to get gear. Because if you wait it is known SE is just going to release new gear to make all your work meaningless in the end. In this style game if you are serious about being good you cannot wait or take time to help others. Because it will slow you down.

You cannot have an organized Endgame guild honestly, at least not following the definition it has been in previous mmos, because of the way the game forces you to play. There is "0" guild content, literally none. The main content in the game is lowman (8) people and it is content locked once a week when you clear a turn. Crystal towers is negated. Primals are just as easily puggable endgame as they are beatable in a guild so most people do them outside the guild as much as in it. So you do not have guilds in XIV you have multiple static groups which gather under 1 chat channel.

True Guilds are all but dead in this game. Anyone trying to operate in this game as a guild is most likely hurting themselves because to involve everyone is to slow progress down in a static environment.

Welcome to the XIV themepark enjoy your stay. You are right vertical progress and casual game play is killing this game for anyone who wants a group experience.

You are lucky you aren't playing most MMOs where you won't even see the content without a raid guild and passing a application period.

I read the op's story, I have no sympathy. As many others stated, if he can't find a party he should make his own. As he said he's not comfortable doing so; If it's not worth it for you to go outside your comfort zone and make your own parties, then maybe this game isn't for you. People aren't going to hand you everything.

The biggest problem from what I'm reading is that people who have cleared/completed content and are farming for something will most likely not accept a group member who hasn't experienced it yet.

That's why I'm still stuck on Titan Ex / T5 too, I know I can do them easily, it's just the other 7 people :/ Those "Must have cleared" pts bug me, because what about the people who know the entire fight, can do said entire fight, but haven't won it because other people sucking? "Experienced only" parties are sometimes worse than learning ones. I've joined a few and 9/10 times, I'm usually the last alive (that last try, usually someone else is alive with me) and it just feels like people joining it, expecting to be carried.

I'm actually tempting to just pay for a win, but you know, actually do the fight, more so paying for people who know how to dodge, just so I can finally get on with newer content lol It's getting to be a huge let down when I think "Let's see what's going on" and check the PF, only to find that everything listed is stuff I can't do

Make connections? Seek out players of like skill & commitment to form up with regularly.

Obviously depending on the person, but if you pay attention, you can easily learn a fight's pattern within ~3 tries, of course depending on how far you get, but still, 2 weeks is plenty of time to learn it, problem is finding people who don't flat out suck :/ Not saying everyone does, it just seems the majority who don't, are already in a static, then theres the rare few who don't suck, who aren't in a static and can't progress...because of said people who suck lol

Isn't whole point of MMO is to play with other people? Why then does the OP think that his own timeline for clearly some arbitrary content mile marker is the MOST important thing? Sound like the OP would rather play a single player game solo. The OP needs to invest time in other player and form the static he needs. That timeline is certainly dependent on other players and building a relationship/connection with them.

yep , ppl wiped for hours on the encounters, after finally killing the content....guess what? they dont want to wipe anymore....they already did before.

and wiping for a friend until he learns its ok because its maybe 1 or 2 friends max......but ppl dont like wiping because a random stranger joined a farm party and died on the 1 mechanic :rolleyes: isnt that fun.

and that how 1 kick = fail partys were created :P

and ppl usually have 0 reasons to go back and do content , primals for example once u get your drops ? why bother? (other than static farming or helping some1....)

Sure totally possible in 2 weeks with the ease of gearing and the echo. I just don't think saying, I tried for two weeks shows a lot of effort and doesn't inspire much sympathy. Maybe others feel differently? /shrug

Why not just join cleared parties? Since you know what to do? I can tell you from personal experience people still wipe, even funnier when it's the party leader dropping looool.

I'm running a static, and we're hitting our head against Tier 5 and Titan Ex right now and we can't help but feel this was poorly utalized across the board.

There's no expanse when it comes to progression. And while we accept the fact that it's a new game, the linear gear progression is really starting to bear its fangs and Raider's Fatigue is having its effects on us. Not everyone is skilled or has a reliable connection enough to make the split-second reactions needed, especially when you have to compensating for varying lag each time you go on - which is our biggest problem with Titan.

We could 'wait longer' until the Echo continues to make up for such errors, but during that time we'd be sitting on our hands. There needs to be more approaches to endgame than what we have so people have multiple means of progression that don't funnel into one singular dungeon.

As of right now it's distributed. We have 2 static PS3 players, one of which will be upgrading to PS4. I'm hybridizing Gamepad/Keyboard (I'm the one with the least difficulties.) The rest are PC of various performances. FC leadership shares the same house with a questionable net connection that, due to affordability issues, is not upgrade-able.

We're running Titan Ex on Tuesday evenings as it's our only available day. (We're an RP/Raid FC so RP nights are on Saturdays/Sundays) It seems as if we're gradually compensating on Twintania and there's no certain singular choke-hold point there, we'll likely clear it on the next Echo upgrade or before. But Titan most certainly has been a bottleneck for us for much longer.

And just to be clear, we're not going to roster-swap anyone on a permanent basis. We're all friends. It just feels like there's no alternative gameplay for gear progression. And honestly, there isn't right now. It's kind of aggravating.

I think that's a matter of opinion. I find Titan EX to be just as easy. :S You run to the exact same spots almost every single time and if your team isn't bad it's requires very little healing.
