Make crafter/gatherer "Artifact gear" available for battle classes to wear (glamours)

I'm conflicted with this. One one hand, it would take away from the unique look of crafters. On the other hand, it would a.) create a huge demand for these crafted pieces, thus raising their value, and b.) allow me to wear my dope alch lab coat on my black mage.

I agree, some things need to stay unique. There would be some cool outfits you could make, but it would not stop with crafting AF. Job AFs would get the same requests.

They should add this, but they need to make it a requirement to hit 50 in that crafting class to wear it. Kinda make it a bonus reward for making it to 50 in a non combat class.

Unfortionately the creation of any non standard system makes it a bit difficult to the team as a lot of supposedly simple tasks seem near impossible to be added. This means it could take a lot of work and time to get it implemented, but I hope they do it. A person just grabbing a cooking outfit without making it to 50 cooking would make cooks feel inferior. Wearing it as a lancer with a fork trident because you worked your butt off to hit 50 just makes it a even better reward for your work.

I would LOVE it if they were available to all classes but ONLY IF YOU HAVE MAXED THAT PROFESSION.
Then it would give you a little vanity incentive to level the other classes.

Yeah, I am all for removal of glamour restrictions in general. If I am able to magically make my gear look completely like something else, I do not know why there are arbitrary restrictions on it (from a magical standpoint)

Personally, I despise options being limited for no other reason than to be limited. I think the glamour system should remove the current class restrictions and replace it with the following(barring weapons due to animation issues):

Is it possible for your character(meaning does it have the class/job at the appropriate level) to equip a projectable item?
If yes: Item is usable for glamour.

Honestly, my suggestion shouldn't be hard to implement, and would have been simple to use to begin with. Instead of a check that works like this(incoming pseudo-code):

A bit less generic example would be, say for a piece of gear that requires any DoL class at level 45 to equip:

While it would probably be annoying to go through all of the gear and implement this behavior now, it'd only become more hassle as additional content comes out.

If ever there should be a RIOT for anything, it should be an open glamour system.

I think the open glamour system should be unlocked somehow, though. Maybe by hitting 50 in ALL classes (crafting, combat, gathering) then talking to the guy in Apkallu Falls guy. This ensures that you CAN wear and glamour any and everything, and cuts down on everyone doing so right away.

Another idea is to make a new kind of ultimate glamour crystal that "binds on craft", which can glamour anything to anything (within slot limitations) but can only be made and used by the person crafting it. Putting a rare mat or two for these ultimate glamours crystals could be reason to get people into the game more.

My last idea was making a rep system for Sunsilk, Fen-Yll, and the BLS/ARM companies. After building rep with them, they'd allow you to use their own facility and plans (limited amount of time or attempts) to craft a glamoured version of any item to a class of your choice. (Actually, the request I sent to SE involved using things like Ifrits horn, Phoenix Down, Odin Mantle, Titan Heart, etc to make new "Primal Armor" under these conditions, but you get the point).

In all these cases, it would take an extraordinary amount of time to acquire the glammed look you're after, and time sinks are what the current trend is apparently.

Part of the reason why I leveled my weaver was because I wanted the nifty outfit for glam purposes. How disappointed I was, but at least I don't have to pay for glamours anymore.

Is there any hope for this SE? T_T I WANT TO USE ALCHEMIST GEAR AS VANITY T_T *shamelessly necroing*

Thought about this and wanted to burst your bubble saying nope, not gonna happen since they don't let you cross class already due to pvp but was then reminded about patricians gear since I SB the Crap out of them on my WHM.

I'm with you on this one, I would love to have some of this gear available for DoM/DoW classes. I've got the gather hat on my Monk right now with hellish claws and love the look of Freddy Krueger that I've got going lol.

But i also wish that i can have the same look throughout my crafting classes as well and would enjoy a crafting look to them in the process but dont like patricians. If i could look like a BSM the whole time id probably enjoy crafting more lol

Tbh, the main reason I leveled Alchemist at all was that I could look awesome in a lab coat every once and while. I wouldn't say no if they wanted to let us use it to glamour onto other classes~

Although it would be nice, as others may have said before, these outfits give identity to each crafting/gathering class. It would be like seeing a Monk in White Mage AF gear. I'm personally against the idea of DoH or DoL gear becoming glamourable (doubt that's even a word) to classes other than their own, but if they do it, I won't complain about it either, since it's obviously something plenty want and it's not a big deal.

More glamour options always have my ok!

Though yes, I think the ideal thing would be vanity gear open for battle classes that have some of the crater details taken from them. As mentioned earlier, the weaver coat without the scissors and stuff.
