I want them to bring out a big hand mount, like THING from the Adams Family. . . . just for Monk's :P

anyone have good pics of the lion?
Not worth it. he's cute, but SE has a hard time with faces.. too chinese-lion for my tastes, still i'll get it.. http://i.imgur.com/d1Ke7drh.jpg
like the white unicorn >.< *someone give them a sammich!
My server's first lion was gotten just a couple days ago. I think I would like the lion more if it were realistically colored, like the bearm instead of just pure white. The pure white just makes it look artificial, made even worse by that wonky posture/musculature.
I also think the bear looks way better!

Best lion mount I could find in my server
They're very heavily muscled, but it's *lean* muscle rather than bulk muscle (which makes sense since it's not like mounts are powerlifting; they're carrying the weight around for long periods) and it's all over their bodies rather than isolated to 1-2 muscle groups. The warlion's musculature is weird because it's almost all in its chest and shoulders so that it has a body type reminiscent of a human body builder rather than a powerful animal.
another entitled thread.... I deserve everything in the game, even though i don't like what im required to do to get it.
Boring....
I deserve a raise at work, but I don't think I should have to complete my assignments on time. I mean cmon dude...
Think about it this way, if they made the bear mount that easy to get. Then everyone would have the bear mount. Then no one would care about having the bear mount and it would be dumb. The reason rare mounts are coveted, and why you started this thread to whine, is that they are more or less hard to get. Get over it.
its meant to take a while because the point of the mounts are for people to play tanks. if they make it easy to get people will grind it out then switch back to their class and then ur back at square one with a shortage of tanks. only dedicated tanks deserve it. wish they did this with the white mage mount, which was a terrible idea a unicorn of all things lmao. atleast make it more universal no guy wants to ride a unicorn.
And this is how WAR gets the bear mount. You'll Understand When You Get The Reference
To be honest I'd prefer if my unicorn was way more difficult to get, like the tanks' mounts, a lot of people just leveled the CNJ to 30 for that and it got kind of boring and not rewarding at all for healers. Maybe it was a little experiment to see if people are interested in mounts and I can understand it but still it's a bit sad.. that's why I'm getting my Kobold one :P
Unicorn was added back in beta to get people to play more healers. At that point in the game, leveling the 30 actually required what would be considered a reasonable investment of time so it served much the same purpose. The difference between the tank mounts and the unicorn is that the unicorn was added during an earlier phase such that we now consider the effort required to be laughable. Imagine what'll happen after we progress a few more patches and all of the current tank mount content is considered a laughable DF farm: that 200 will seem like nothing really.
Well, the initial guide i saw said:
Warbear - Complete the Quest 'But Somebody's Gotta Do It' (Warrior) by completing 200 High-Level Full Party duties as a Warrior
Warlion - Complete the Quest 'But Somebody's Gotta Do It' (Paladin) by completing 200 High-Level Full Party duties as a Paladin
But then since then, it has become apparent that this only includes:
The Howling Eye (Extreme)
The Navel (Extreme)
The Bowl of Embers (Extreme)
The Whorl Eater (Extreme)
Thornmarch (Extreme)
The Binding Coil of Bahamut (excluding Turn 3)
The Second Coil of Bahamut
Hope this helps ;)
Augh, I'd actually prefer the lion. But I've long given up the shield for my axe. Oh well.
Adding the mounts the way they did with zero thought about those who were tanking for a very long time actually had the opposite effect that they intended. At first I was really pissed, it wasn't that I was all "gimmie gimmie now" however the days of me running random dungeons I had passed for a really long time. I have literally zero reason to do any of it. I stopped tanking because the thought of it really agitated me. I haven't considered myself a tank much since and honestly I doubt I'll ever go back. I've been focusing exclusively as a dps now. So I guess what I'm trying to say is adding the mounts the way they did took one more tank out of circulation.
If all you did was run dungeons, you wouldn't have gotten credit anyways. The only content that counts is EX primals and coil, and, the way you describe it, you were already out of circulation. The only thing the implementation of the tank mounts did was give you an excuse for not playing your tank any more.
Also, Yoshi actually said they considered giving tanks credit for runs they had done before, but it was impossible because they just hadn't stored that information so it's not like they did it with zero though.
considering that the last 3 dungeons added can all be run fast in 12 min and avg around 20min. Not a single turn in the binding coil one takes longer then 15min, even with a death or two, Coil is relatively easy to tank, at least the first couple turns, and can be completed in under 8 min. however pulling a speed run is much more difficult, much more work, and about double the length to complete when compared to the 8 man content. In other words it is much more difficult/time consuming, and useful even for tanks to get points from the "expert mode" dungeons. This would also make it so that a tank gets "punished" for not completing a dungeon run, so if a player does decide to abuse the vote kick their actually just hurting them self. This would also cause an excess amount of tanks to be up an queing in df which would cause us to see more healers and dps bonuses. SE always has pretty bad logic.
I mean in FFXI "SE logic" was quite easily one of the most common phrases because SE has a really bad problem with foresight, like as we have seen really majorly in this patch with about 3 different things being postponed for no reason that will have drastic effects on the game make up, and yet se has no foresight to see what they did ahead of time, and are loosing scrubs and scratching their heads.still no word on the next ct which was supposed to be release b4 turn 6. and if they aren't going to put CT on schedule they need to adjust the plans for binding coil to not function as if CT exsist.
First off, are you serious? Speed runs are laughably easy. I'm not sure how you could ever argue that they're more difficult or require more. Also, I've done speed runs and farms of both Brayflox as well as all of the coil turns. Brayflox can most definitely be done faster than any coil turn barring a really good t4 farm.
You're also forgetting the organizational requirements. I can put together a functional Brayflox farm at pretty much any hour and, oftentimes, without ever touching the PF. You're lucky to put together an 8 man farm without having to wait around getting people and organizing it. Plus, they're much less liable to actually be sustained as long as a 4 man farm.
No one is having issues getting through 4 man content. The DF needed rewards already make it the weight times on DPS not all that impressive, outside of offtimes. The issue has always been getting tanks to run in random 8 man content because a vast majority of tanks aren't really willing to run with people outside of their social circle. Restricting credit to 8 man content encourages tanks to farm with people that they don't know.
I really have no clue what you're smoking because the devs explicitly said that SCoB was coming before the next CT expansion. Major patches are going to alternate between progressing CT and progressing coil. They said that when they first released CT.Quote:
still no word on the next ct which was supposed to be release b4 turn 6.
I really have to wonder if you have even the remotest clue about what you're trying to talk about. You're so wrong it's making my head hurt.
Seeing it from the other point of view, if the tank mount is given only in the EX primals and Coil, it means the developers have decided there's a scarcity of tanks in these duties they want to diminish. Probably there is not that scarcity of tanks in other duties or is not seen as so problematic. These duties are not on the roulettes who also have some incentives to needed jobs (most times tanks.) Second Coil has a weekly cap, so the mount will mostly diminish the tank scarcity for the Ex Primals and Coil.
