I was the first person to speak up and point out that the game is being redesigned for the absent players. You have taken a loose grasp of that concept and run very far with it. My point in bringing that up was that we current players are not going to be enjoying updates typical of a released game with content updates, gear updates, etc. The dev team is redesigning the game to free it of flaws. That is not what we are concerned with in this thread. The dev team needs to pay respect to the 600,000 people that bought FFXIV by fixing it's flaws. We are not asking for content but for an assurance that they won't ninja-wipe our characters with their simple choices.
It is in fact a ninja-wipe if you, like me, put in 6 months of leveling to get your Black Mage to cap and the dev team decides, totally without merit, that you are now playing a healer. The dev team can solve this problem and they should. Fixing the standing flaws of this game does not give them a license to be lazy in their thinking or an excuse for altering people's characters that they've leveled. It's not a reason to say you can't give BLM and WHM to both mages and only lock 1 job to one class in other cases. That works better for some jobs than others and they need to think about it very carefully, and take a really long time thinking about it before they make some choices that will impact the playerbase unnecessarily.
I'm asking for solutions. If the dev team decides they're going to do something that's going to screw people over, they need to make amends. All they have to do is let people alot their bonus points however they want, instead of wiping them, give people a free capped job if they're unhappy with what the dev team decided, etc. So don't tell people to quiet down.. support the idea of proper service.
