The thing I hate? That I dont have more time to play it.
The fact that there is no buddychat, you either have to send a tell to everyone on your friendlist or invite them all into a linkshell. >_<
Also the fact that if you make a PF asking for exped people or too many wipes and you will be replaced people will frown upon you as being an elitist lol.
Little annoyances that mostly hinder multitasking.
you cannot do anything while riding a chocobo: want to see your atma book to know the fate or enemy name? you gotta dismount.
you cannot accept a queue when doing something like talking to retainers/being busy in the market board. Had this happen before on a CT queue and was checking what i needed to sell. So i was busy with the retainers, queue popped, i leave the retainer, accept queue. Someone withraws and i start again. Queue pops, rise and repeat for 10min long where i just gave up.
The second you summon the chocobo when in a queue it instantly removes you without warning.
Sylph daily quests.

Fates
I rarely watch any videos about fights, and I'm not usually the first to be killed by any mechanics in a fight (that wasn't directly my own fault). You don't need to watch any videos. In fact, the first people (the various groups who go for it first) who beat the content don't get any videos at all. They have to figure out the mechanics themselves. It's usually them who provide the videos for everyone else to watch.
It comes down to the players' individual ability to react to unknown things, or to analyse just what went wrong and figure out the solution to avoid it happening again.
If I was to describe something I hate, it would be similar to this of yours, except my gripe is with the player base requiring that people watch/read up strategies before hand. Where is the fun in that? That's why I don't roll in the DF/PF unless I've beaten said content myself with my own FC/LSes.
already sick of the tred-mill , they cant do a better job hiding this, or introduce enough organic design to the game?
This, omg so this. The inability to multi-task is annoying. Can't join party invites while on market boards or retainers either. Also not a big fan of the point allocation system, those 30 points? I'd rather it be like xi where it just chose for me and switched when I switched jobs (which completely negates the problem of smn or sch and we could actually truly play any class/job we want).
I would complain about the community itself but that's not specifically the game, that's just assholes being assholes
Elitists are the only thing that really bothers me in this game (or games in general).
- FATEs. They're terrible.
- Lack of exploration. They rebuilt the world into something beautiful, then force you out of it for most of the game.
- Complete linearity for everything. One path to level up, one main story, one order to do endgame things in (slightly better with 2.2), one set of best gear per job along with completely boring stat upgrades across the board, no choice in build or abilities, and a large number of ultimately pointless portions of content due to rewards being better for one specific activity.
- Lack of incentives for "middle ground" players. This is more difficult to describe, but essentially the game caters well to the people at the top who are ready every patch for the next endgame dungeons/trials, and also caters well to those who play rarely and just log in to level up a bit, do daily solo quests, etc. Where it fails is the people who can invest a lot of time but aren't interested in endgame or can't schedule around weekly timers, etc. Any gear they get is outdated before they can finish a single set, but the amount of daily solo/small group activities are exhausted long before they are.
- Rigidity when it comes to content requirements. Everyone gets shoved into the three basic roles, making it impossible to have more unique jobs. Unless you make a group entirely of friends it forces you into a strict 1:1:2 ratio for everything. Even if you go with friends you're stuck always with content for four or eight people; there's virtually nothing that can be done with other numbers.
- Global cooldown. I used to not mind it, but as I've tried more classes it has become more frustrating that most of them boil down to a simple rotation of a few abilities, complemented by a few long timers for boss fights or certain phases of long fights.
- PvP. What a complete waste of development resources for the 40 people who actually care about this.
- Models of common player equipment clipping through each other. I mean seriously, no one thought mages might have both staves and wide-brimmed hats?
- Summoner. I don't even mind the "Egi" designs, but blatantly copying WoW's Warlock and focusing on DoT debuffs is an insult to the history of the job.
What can I say? I have an extreme weakness for lists of things to complete in games.
only thing that bothers me is how everything goes into cooldown after using 1 skill
Gated behind story. - Let's say you grinded the last 4 levels to 50 on beastman dailies, but then you learn that you can't do things, like Hildebrand or CT, because you have to finish the story. (But, hey, at least I'm no longer stuck behind storymode-Garuda).
A lack of a more efficient/ convenient means to report and block RMT spam. (At least it's not like Aion's.)
Atma farm.
Animus farm.
Fates.
Lack of open world to explore.
Dungeons.
Dungeon queues.
Stat simplicity.
Lack of elemental wheel.
Lack of monster threats outside of dungeons.
Long and tedious repetitive dungeons with trash mobs.
Item levels.
Gear trending.
Bard nerf.
Holy nerf.
Global Cool Down on skills it should not be on like Flash or Regen.
Primal battle music.
Same music for most dungeons.
The community in Mor Dhona.
Duty Finder in most cases.
Echo buff.
Weekly lockouts.
Character animations.
PS3 Limitations.
Lack of originality.
The HUD.
Non-unique tunes for mounts.
Class simplicity (Bard for example which I play).
Traits being tied into jobs from the base class even when the job is the opposite role (Scholar/Summoner in this case).
Inability to loop world music, (I asked for this in beta they rejected it for "immersion" yet the horrendous character animations already break that immersion).
Lackluster story with a series of boring errand quest which the NPC's can do his/herself, I'm not their damn errand boy.
Voiced Cutscenes (I know people like it, but to me it's a waste of money as they can spend that profit on developing more important content).
The fact that Housing came before new classes/jobs. Legacy players would like the jobs we were promised back in 1.0.
The waiting game for fates to pop to do your animus books because the fates take hours. No, don't give me bs about doing fates in the area to make it pop faster because people who are already camping will finish it and then you miss it requiring you to wait again to finish it. You're not playing a game when you're waiting you're waiting to play the game.
Edit: The 1000 character post limit.
Edit: People who complain about speed running.
Edit: Your servers, sure it causes less strain for PS3/PC players but that means lag, lag, lag at peak hours because of congestion, specifically in instances.
Edit: No 64 Bit client for Windows, although they already have one created.
Edit: No DX11 for a game released in 2013.
Edit: Heavily influenced static parties because of bad content design.
Edit: Strong emphasis on cohesion making it almost impossible to clear content if one person screws up.
Edit: The holy trinity, no you don't have to get rid of it just improve it vastly, don't stick to the generic crap we've seen for years with the lackluster skills that only hold to identify the basic role. Make Jobs more unique, fun and more true to their original creation.
Edit: The world is too small. I'd happily take 1.0's bland copy/paste over this design. People who comment on the waterfalls and other things like Camp Tranquil or whatever, no thanks. It's cramped with so much diversity, it just destroys the immersion of the area.
Edit: The fact that chocobos, 1.0 players know exactly what I'm referring towards, are about four times slower than they were before. The only logical explanation I can think of is for SE to give us the idea that the world is large when it's actually not.
Edit: Boring skills.
And that is all I can think of at the moment.
For those who may insinuate that I hate this game, I do not. I've complained about some of these concerns in beta, yet they were ignored and so did others, therefore I'm restating what I believe to be lacking or boring and needs to change for the better in my own opinion. If you don't agree that's fine, just say so with a proper argument as to why if you'd like.
Titan EX, Tanks getting 99% of the time the bonus from duty roulette & Vote Kick feature.
Right now? I hate being forced to team up with other players (OH GOD NOOOO!) (What? Isn't this an MMO?) to complete the Main Scenario Quests.
In my defense I offer "Star Wars: The Old Republic" - my former home - where you could complete all the main story quest lines, for every job and profession, fpr both factions, without interacting with another living soul.
Group participatory raids and PvP are 100% optional. You don't have to do a single solitary Flashpoint to "win" SWTOR.
But hey. It is what it is. Heh.
Now get off my lawn. I just planted those La Noscean Oranges!
I hate how SE is taking a million years to release fantasia potions on mogstation knowing that ALOT of people want them.
Lack of DX11 for PC -_-
& Tome grinding, boring as hell
hate that u cannot interact with nPC/anyone while riding a mount....I mean like wdfk is this lol...I was truly shock when first notice this.....
The community.
I hate that I can't really do a lot with my friends. I just have to catch up with them, I guess.
It would be easier to ask what I don't hate in this game.
Myth farming. The atma farm and the contents of the books aren't fun either, but the myth farming is really awful (and shows the worst of the community - insults in a party because a 2-bosses brayflox run took 11mn, really?).
Nothing in the animus content has been done right (seriously, whose idea was it to make people wait hours for a specific alea to pop?).
Tanks who leave dungeons before everyone has loaded in... so the community, mostly.
Edit: and it happened again, sort of. WHM DC'd the second we engage the first set of mobs (so tank KO's). We wait for them to return for around five-ten minutes and then a kick is initiated. I wait 28 seconds before voting Yes and then they're gone. Five seconds later the tank leaves and then a healer joins and then leaves. And then I'm alone. Why is it so hard for me to find a stable Roulette party?
Sadly I have to echo the sentiments of some people who have already posted and add: the "community".
I really love the game overall with very few complaints. Thus far it has allowed me to play at my own pace and I still enjoy most tasks. I guess like any other MMO there will always be a certain niche of the community that will drag it down somewhat -- for some reason in my head I didn't imagine it would be as bad as it is in a (mostly) PvE game.
I hate FATEs
Not having Sprint on mounts it would be so cool to sprint on a mount.
With a few exceptions the community isn't really that friendly or willing to have conversations, and I have yet to run into a single roleplayer. Not even one.
I agree with this as well. It is so frustrating having to do the same thing over and over for hours and still failing, even when you are doing your job perfectly, just because one person isn't doing their job correctly. This game is not incredibly difficult, and I can say with complete certainty that the reason I haven't been able to clear certain encounters was because of other people in my party. I don't know why it's so hard to find people that aren't horrible at playing their classes, but there it is. And this isn't about me being impatient or elitist either; I am perfectly happy explaining boss encounters to people and giving them tips on how to perform their roles better. These suggestion often don't go over well though, and people don't seem to want to learn at all.
About 95% of the people who post on these forums seriously you lot have no idea what you want. I don't hate you though hate is too strong a word for people i don't even know. I just think if you didn't litter the forums with your posts it would be better for us all.
Lack of open world NMs, some content you could farm with 2 or 3 close friends and make money out of it. Camping HNMs, havin a challenge to duo them. Open world content is really needed, FATE is crap, and all those instanced beastmen daily quests arent really an option.
The top 5 things I hate.
1.) End Game content is none lenient.
1 person messing up leads to wipes or 1 mistake gets you killed in which will eventually induce a wipe. Hated this model since WoW and I just don't see a positive to this design in the long run since it always causes confliction and negativity.
2.) Summoners Egi
Why oh why is all I gotta say.
3.) Dragoons not having pet Dragon/Wyvern or at least having breath attacks.
Literally the 2 things that make the Dragoon job stand out for me. FFT and FFXI Dragoons are my favorites.
4.) Paladin's don't have access to Holy.
The one cool thing about Paladin's in the FF franchise that made it stand out for me.
5.) No 2H Sword DPS Job yet.
When will you have this FFXIV? Why do you deny me this guilty pleasure?
DPS queue, the constant rehashing of the primal fights,"Titan omg mode" now with 20% more table flips..... /facepalm.
- First of all, the 1,000 character limit on these forums...
- I don't hate FATE's, I hate that the vast majority of them only involve killing trash mobs and have little to no impact on the open world. Some examples I'd LIKE to see:
1 - A world boss (like Odin or Behemoth) that can spawn in every zone, and can drop tokens for rare loot. Have certain mechanics involved in the fight so that it's not a total zerg-fest.
2 - FATE's need to have a larger impact on the world based on their success or failure. If a group of beastmen are attacking a camp and no one drives them out, then they should have a larger presence in that area. I liked the example that was shown back before ARR was released in the "Attack on Highbridge" chain where the Qiqirn could actually abduct NPC's and you had to save them; I'd like to see more stuff like that.
3 - Have some rare FATE's occur in or around cities or camps like Revenant's Toll, where imperials, beastmen, etc. attempt to invade., like the events that occurred in 1.0 prior to Bahamut appearing.
4 - Finally, I feel that FATE's should not be tied to major quests (access to Crystal Tower, Atmas, Hildibrande quest, etc.). I like how there are now people doing FATE's in almost every zone now, but it shouldn't necessarily be for Atmas. FATE's are designed to be spontaneous in nature and reflect a lively, ongoing conflict or occurrence in the world; people can choose to help out and participate in them only if they want to, though it's usually to their benefit. When you tie a specific FATE to a quest and force people to camp it, it becomes boring and it wastes people's time when they could be doing something else.
- There's nothing you can do with exp once all of your classes are 50, despite the fact that it's given to you EVERYWHERE. This is something I've been advocating since the start of ARR: many 1.0 veterans already have all, if not most of their classes/jobs (save for ACN/SMN/SCH) already maxed out, and have no use for exp. If you have nothing to level, what's the point of getting it? Why not bring back something along the lines of FF11's meriting system, or have it to where any excess exp you earn over Lv50 can be used as a sort of currency for things like myth/soldiery tomestones, GC seals, other unique items, etc.?
- I don't like how syncing your level down (either FATE's or dungeons) suddenly lobotomizes your character and locks you out of half of your moves, and also removes your buffs, even if you can still use them at that level. I understand that this was done due to balance issues, but I don't really agree with it.
- There's not enough character customization in regards to combat. All we have is "put 30 points into the most obvious stat" or "here's 5 cross-class skills you'll use and a few more you won't use ever." I know this was a problem in terms of balance in 1.0 (lol THM), but it would be nice to see some customizable skill trees, or meaningful traits and materia that aren't "this gives you +5 VIT," or a merit system, SOMETHING.
I'm sure there's more, but I don't feel like writing a novel atm...
I hate how people keep saying 1.X was better than 2.X.
Oh yeah, how could I forget - still no personal housing. I've been waiting on this for months ever since it was announced...
Pvp
No appearance change (no Fantasia Potion yet)
Glamour system
How endgame trials are not forgiving yet extremely predictable (I'd much rather have more forgiving unpredicable encounters)
1) Titan EX.
2) No Fantasia.
3) How Companions work:
a) Can't queue w/ companion out.
b) Can only have Choco companions (what about other mounts as companions w/ different skill trees?)
c) No respec option.
4) PvP (Can't queue, I guess everybody gave up on this completely...)
5) Market tax.
PvP! But I wish I didn't. Wish they'd give it as much love as it deserves. :c Hoping they really flesh it out eventually.
Edit: Okay, that's a bit deceptive. I love PvP. Just needs more maps, more game types, more... Just more!
