Waited for ~6 hours two days ago, no pop. Yesterday it poped 3 hours in and I teleported to it while asking via a /sh to please wait for me (it was 20% done at that point). Guy says good, you will fail it. I didn't manage to even get an aero in.. it took less than a minute for it to be done. Probably one of the most painful moments I went through in this game since launch :/ all that hours wait for nothing. This is my 5th book so in a way I'm lucky I didn't suffer except in this and Giant Seps to an extent, but dreading the rest for sure.
4 hours today, last FATE on book 9. Cruel SE, just cruel.
lol
a tip if this might help:
Bring alot your crafting stuff. That way you can kill time and grind your DoH too. :D
I really have to say i am lucky i stumbled on this fate..
visiting the region 3-4 times with teleport just to check an go ahead, did some random fates to kill time which got me an atma and whoosh, it was there.
Its psycho mindf*** ... FATEs I really needed when doing my books lying around now undone on the map as if they are always there...
Alright... this FATE is crazy... Do we really have to wait +2 hours just for it to spawn... thank goodness I am on my last book, but WHY!? This is driving me nuts on waiting for this FATE to pop! This needs FIXING!!!!
Doing my second animus and was waiting for this FATE to pop for my 5th book. Been here for 4 hrs now and there was a lalafel who was here a couple of hours before me. He has left after waiting for 7 hrs and I am still here waiting......in anticipation......hoping......praying.......losing hope.......
[QUOTE=MsKirsten;2222295]Been over 6 hrs now!!! And if I add that lalafel's waiting time before I arrived, it's been nearly 10 hrs and still no pop :(
Why SE? Why do you hate us so muc
FINALLY!!! After more than 7 hrs!!! Popped! Sigh......
first animus weapon it took 2-3 hours, idk i was playing xbox in the LR in eye shot of my comp
2nd animus weapon popped in under 10m, got to solo, not a issue as WAR, fun times lol
This FATE is total garbage. Does NOT spawn, watched other FATES spawn 6-10 times, this one? NOT ONCE. Screw you SE. FATES for Atma was BS enough, now your destroy spawn rates for this trash, and expect us to be happy? No. I'm livid.
I too have had trouble waiting for this to pop.
But if you read the patch notes you will see that taken and the flame fate are being moved so that they can occur at the same time (on top of increase in frequency)
So obviously something was broken with the fate.
Been waiting a while on Taken as well. Seems like the changes either had zero effect, or this is horribly broken.
spawn time broken on Mateus as well
does anyone know where they have moved the location to?
This is clearly still broken. I've been waiting for 2.5 hours for "Taken" to spawn. I have seen every single other fate spawn multiple times.
*EDIT* Finally spawned just now. x18 y19
so what the hell is up with this fate...
Is this some kind of joke...cuz is not funny.
so what was patch 2.3 suppose to do to it, cuz to me it seem like whatever they suppose to do to make it spawn faster didn't work.
I think that if fates in a zone haven't been touched by players then in 5 mins they should be an automatic failure and another fate should spawn. 5 fates haven't been touched then 5 others should spawn doesn't matter if npcs are fighting such as the 2 worm fates in South Than.
So you want FATEs to have 2 different time limits? May as well have every FATE set to 5 minutes in that case.
Well if every other fate spawns 3-4x in a hr and these super rare fates spawn every 2-10hrs well the faster ones should have a longer cooldown so these super rare fates spawn more often. Worms fish downwind spawn a lot. Every fate should at least spawn once an hour and not take precedence over the others.
I waited for 2, 2.5 hours for this Fate to spawn. I'm not sure when it spawned before that but I consider myself lucky. I've seen a lot of FATE's come up 3-4 times in this timespan. It still feels really broken to me.
As for "moving it", it's been moved south by a centimeter on the map. Still, spawn time seems to be super broken.
It took no more than 8 hours waiting for aparesca logged in Fate and still nothing happens, anyone know when was the last time you appeared the fate
I have a new theory that worked immediately for me after I wasted 3hrs trying to get the 'Taken' fate for my book. Someone mentioned completing the fate 'Run Like Hell' triggered 'Taken' to spawn but I did that like 5-times and it never worked. Then I actually paid attention to the dialogue and realized a potential theory. Completing the fate 'Run Like Hell' means I protect the Flame Soldier from getting captured, right? So when that dawned on me I decided to see what would happen if I initiated the fate 'Run Like Hell' and sat back letting him get captured. When I did that the Flame Soldier and his pursuers disappeared after roughing him up but the game did not notify me that the fate had been failed. Instead a couple minutes later the NPCs that spawn for 'Taken' appeared and the fate began. So starting the fate then letting him get captured is the trigger.
Don't want to call it prematurely, but I want to say the above method is confirmed. I triggered "Run Like a Flame" and stood watching the NPC die (feeling horrible the entire time :P). Soon as he was gone, another group of Flame NPCs spawned up near him, and ran toward where the fate "Taken" pops.
Cue relief from a huge group of people who'd been waiting for it. So yeah, it's not that long a wait, it's just that no one ever fails the other fate that causes it, because it's so easy. I had to shout for everyone to ignore it, so they wouldn't rush in and save him.
Edit: Tried it again, but this time the NPC actually soloed the fate.. since there had been so little participation, only one enemy spawned for him to fight at each point, and he survived all on his own. Fortunately, "Taken" still triggered right as it ended. I didn't get a success/fail message for the fate though, so I don't know what happens if the NPCs beat it on their own.
I've done this fate 4 times on my 4 Relic Weapons, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt now (I had my doubts before), that the fate Run Like a Flame needs to fail/be ignored for Taken to pop. Each time I had this fate pop, I've seen the fate get completely ignored.
Now whether if you believe me or not is up to you, but I'm gonna do this again when I go for another weapon, and will let you know what I observe. xD
I think FATES have a rotation that is limited by the number of active FATES. So waiting for a low rate spawn Fate is kind of a bad strat. What i've done so far is to take some fates and finish them. This way I accelerate the rotation.
Simple but works for me.
Spawn at 11.15AM +8 GMT (Missed it), and respawn back at around 1310 (1.10PM)
2 hours interval

Not sure if luck or not, but I got it to work using the "Run like Flame" technique. First time I let him die it was still night (in game) as sun came up, "RLF" popped, I let the guy die again and Taken popped right after. Good luck.
Just popping in to confirm that letting "Run Like a Flame" fail DOES NOT work. Earlier, I completed it thinking that might do something... no dice. A little bit ago, I started it and let the first group of mobs beat on him.. he died, and the fate failed. Taken still has not spawned, and it's been ~5 minutes and still nothing.
So the people who let it fail and then had the NPCs come running out after, just had good RNG :(
I have a theory about the "Tempered, Tempered" FATE maybe being the trigger for it.. as it has the exact same mobs in it. Maybe if it fails then Taken spawns.. will wait and see.
EDIT: Well, Tempered Tempered didn't work.. but Taken DID spawn about 15 minutes after letting Run Like a Flame fail.. Hooray RNG :(
Waited hours for this to no avail...either broken or not yet fixed by SE
Need this again for my Ninja weapon book and tried the Flame NPC theory by activating Run Like A Flame FATE and let him die. You need to actually level synch to that FATE but do not participate and let NPC die. Guess what!! In 15min later, Taken popped :)
I don't know if those 2 FATES are related or simply coincidence but no harm trying the theory.
Good luck!!!
Finally got the chance on my 3rd animus (ninja), 6th book. Failed "Run Like a Flame" twice and still no "Taken" popped. Have level-synced and fast killing single mob till the point where npc dealt with 2 mobs which I let him perish.
Edit:
Finally popped after around 2 hours and failing "Run Like a Flame" 4 times. Not sure if the FATEs even related after all.
still not fixed, SE just loves to dissapoint their customers and they wonder why so many people left for other games allready
Going on 3 hours now waiting on the BS fate to pop, clearing some nearby FATEs here & there. Kinda redunkulous.
Fates in each area of a zone are linked, only one non quest related fate can be up at a time. So in this area u can ignore the hildebrand fate and any related to the beast man tribes. It will then cycle through the fates. This area is a bitch as there are lots of fates connected to zanr'ak. In between 11 and 16 not sure of the exact amount. So it can be a long time even when pushing fates. In the area there 2 fates that need to be activated to show on the map, these will also block other fates from spawning. This works in each area. When u look at ur map there are multiple areas per zone, st has zanr'ak,zahar'ak, the red labyrinth etc. these are the areas that are linked if the fate u want is in zanr'ak ignore the other areas. This fate is possibly the worst of the book fates as there are so many linked together in the area.
Same here, I did them and nothing. Although I seen the Fate spawn 3 times....when I didn't need it!
