And I never said GC will only be some quests, I pointed out they won't.

I DID say that the sidequests that are introducing them are lame to say the least and will continue to be so because I've done every single sidequest in the game and not one of them has been exciting or fun in the slightest.

To be fair while Tanaka was in charge he promised Companies for the Novemeber update, then Yoshi promised them for March and here we are now still none the wiser of what they really will be.

You do know that the dungeons are related to companies, right? Based on that alone they are guaranteed to be better than the side-quests, which I agree are completely lame. The fact of the matter still remains, that unless you are a developer or a tester for SE, you really have no idea what the company quests are going to be like. You can only make assumptions based on what we have now, which may or may not be accurate.

I'm not trying to make assumptions on what they're like, I'm complaining that SE isn't TELLING us what they're like after teasing us about them for weeks on end only to never talk about it again.

That's exactly what I mean, though probably put much more politely than I could.

I was expecting more than the quests at patch 1.17, they were hyping it up so much at the time.

Does anyone remember what's been said for them at 1.18 if anything? Otherwise expecting to see another on the back burner case for another whole patch series when 1.18 hits.

We've heard dungeons are somewhat related to them and that there will be some sort of story content behind it in 1.18 which is most likely sidequests.

As far as the ACTUAL features though we've heard nothing.

The only thing I remember reading is that companies will be the first to enter the dungeons, and that it sounded like there is a requisite quest to go into the dungeon. Whether there is much story leading up to that questor not is anyone's guess, as is the quality/replay value of that quest.

Thanks for the replies. I've really been wanting to see the company leader models in the game as well as the things that would bring a little more nation pride together, but word of those have been far and few.

As we are seeing the first dungeons in 1.18, i doubt that companies will be related to these dungeons or that it will play any role in regards to dungeons. There probably will be dungeons that are Exclusive to Gran Companies but not the regular ones.

I always assumed they have meetings and decide how much they are going to revel and when they are going to reveal it.
They probably have an idea in their head of some slow build up and then...

They revealed pretty much everything they got planned in that "list of changes" that is to be completed by September but info on Grand Companies has been lacking.

How is asking them for a bit of info on Grand Companies rushing them?

Here's to hoping that this system resembles FFXI Conquest, etc. Anything that would provide a reason to go out, explore the world, and maybe earn some cool rewards in the process is good content in my books.

He's basically saying that the devs decided against it and that it will be first come, first serve. So yeah, that's pretty much a confirmation that there will be limitations on how many parties can do them at the same time. :(

I hope there isn't a limit to how many players can be in a dungeon..otherwise they'll have some furious players on their hands. I know they did this type of thing with Limbus and Dynamis and such in FFXI, was always frustrating when you were about to do a Limbus run for the last piece you needed and had to wait until the other group was done first.

Yeah, and there you had many zones to choose from. Not to mention, lots of other things to do. We only get those two dungeons.

Hopefully, there will be more than a one-party limit. That would just be insane.

I doubt it will be that much, but it might be limited until they figure out their server problems. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the decision they went for. Honestly, it'd be a death-sentence if they released those Dungeons and only 1 party was allowed to join at a time. I doubt that's how it's going to go down.

WHO!? will be delivering the translated post or information? Will it be you? Camate? Rukkiri? One of the Localization team members!?

WHERE!? Where will it be posted? Lodestone? Here!? In another section of the forums? Or will you all really mix it up, and make a scavenger hunt and post each language's version in another section? Like we get the French version, and the Germans get the Japanese version, and so on.

HOW!? How will it posted? Will it be posted from a train? Will it be posted via a trained monkey randomly picked out of the million monkeys in a room with type-writers hoping to eventually write the collected works of Shakespeare (I assume that might be part of why you're afraid the date might slip.) Or will it be posted with each alternating letter a different color of the rainbow?

Not really -- let's not forget how even with true instances there is still a limit and why a lot of games have an "open period" to get there and setup then the period closes and no new people can do it and a "queue" because there are limits to how much you can instance.
