Grand Companies

I had intended to announce this in a future letter, but we will release information regarding the Grand Companies of Eorzea (what were referred to as “public companies” in previous posts) just before patch 1.17 goes live. We are currently readying a page dedicated to this exciting new feature, and hope to have it up on the Lodestone shortly.

That was from a Producer's letter. We did get our page but a mini bio of the three leaders is not what i call information about Grand Companies.

Yoshi-P teased us many times with that feature and then promised info soon and then he just stopped talking about it.

So what's the deal? Why can't we get more info about it?

I agree, I would really like some more info on what exactly these Grande Companies are going to be, what do they have in store for us? Really wish they would have given us a full detail report on them by now. =/

Just going to have to wait and see I suppose, I'm hoping we get some spec of information on them this week, and perhaps an actual date for 1.18 =P

If it was part of 1.18 we would have gotten some info about it, unless 1.18 is even more delayed then i thought it would be.

I wonder why they won't say anything about it.... It's like they started announcing it with the webpage and then just decided to stop. Maybe they tested it and something wasn't right and decided to re-work it?

I would like to get a reply as from a dev about what exactly grand company will be.

Are they Community quest?, Similar to Campaign in XI (defense battles)?, Just an outlet for dungeons?, something completly different?

We know they are suppose to be a major roll in the game but we have no clue what they are I would like to know more.

I was on the lodestone and saw the page and thought exactly what you just said. They've announced it months ago and then hyped it like crazy, only to stop talking about it. It made me very curious as per why there isn't any more info about it....

Could also be that a specific feature that is tied to Grand Companies is not ready yet and they don't want to announce anything until it is.... hope we can get someone to comment on this.

Anyone thinks it will be similar to the Conquest system from FFXI? As in Grand Companies will compete for control over regions. Will probably be more in depth... done with quests, leves, PVP etc... with maybe ranks and rewards.

It's probably going to be either Conquest or Campaign. Either way, it doesn't seem like a unique aspect. But in all fairness, I can't judge something I have no knowledge on.
