THIEF AND/OR NINJA hinted at in 2.2 story for 2.3? (very minor spoilers)

Well Musketeer is the only Class that has a high probability to appear before 1st expansion because everything is mostly ready for Musketeer class except for Musketeer's skills. Having their Guild even setup in the game and the crafter for the class is confirmed to be Blacksmith because of Blacksmith lore telling how Musketeer weapons founded by the Lisma Blacksmith crafters.

musketeer is maybe the class with less chance actually, i think he already have give the list of the class he plan to add before/with the first expansion.
let's do some history:
- musketeer was announced as first class added, while it was tanaka the director. right before the first Release.
- When Yoshida did take the lead, he simply drop the musketeer out for add jobs to the game.
- When Yoshida was asked about the musketeer, he did recognize that fan await it and that at a point in the time he need to add it. but never he did said it was a priority.
- the musketeer had a full guild in the v1, now it share the guild with the marauder. all it left it's a couple of npc shooting in the basement, a signboard and an empty desk. i see it like a confirmation, that yoshida plan to add the musketeer, but not like a pointer to that he will add the class in first or beforet he expansion. is more for confort the fan in the idea, that he will add it.

with 2.1 we had already a few hint about the add of a scout class. they was small hint, that can look ridiculous. the pups minion that a copie of interceptor the companion of Shadow in FF6 and the fuma armor that clearly a ninja armor. indeed, it's enough for say, they will add it soon.
now, with 2.2, they clearly name the thief class, talk about a secret organisation in limsa that have a hidden HQ in the city. we see two people representing clearly 2 jobs thief for thancred and ninja for yukiri. the ninja was not named, but all point into this direction, the quest talk a lot and if you talk to the kid you will learn interesting stuff.

it's more than anything done for the musketeer so far. here they name the class, they show us 2 jobs and more important say us... a dojo is coming!

and it's not my imagination, they told us this. simply, say: "no is not possible... you are imagining stuff" it's maybe a bit too much.

ps: edwinli we can argue for days, we already have done it in the past about the same subject. but here it's too flashy, too big for simply tell to the player, no you will wait 6-9 month dude.

My guess is that part of the story and where Yugiri ends up gives way to them creating a unified style with a guild, then branching into thief and ninja. If the CS is any indication, both are up-close fighting styles. I still cringe because of the chance of the stupidity of ninja tanks repeating itself, but only time will tell.

As of now 2.X is only establishing future contents and any ideal of what will be released is only a assumption based on what we know currently while any official information is kept until the live letter or near release in the Release Trailers.

Either way we don't know officially when Scout nor Musketeer will be released.

I look at it this way. There will probably be a new class. For argument's sake, I'm gonna call it "Rogue". Now this "Rogue" will probably wield twin daggers (The two daggers would each take up the same main weapon slot and be treated as a two-handed weapon) and use a lot of Rogue-ish skills.

Then, again for argument's sake, let's say Thancred or someone who taught Thancred teaches the Rogue how to become a Thief, whereas Yugiri teaches the Rogue how to become a Ninja. Both very, very similar in style, but also with some variations thrown in.

That's how I think it'd be implemented most accurately.

Do you have anything to back up this claim? unlike Shepard, Musketeer is STILL in the game. Shepard was dropped. Musketeer is still being worked on. A few letters even had Yoshida saying that they were trying to get it to work a way he envisioned it. Its still only missing 2 real things, and that's a skill set as far as we can see and actual items to go along with it. Everything else is already in the game.

He never said there was any priority for anything other than more Mage classes, this was back before Arcanist was added. Since then, he has put no priority on any new classes. He never even mentioned other classes by name other than Musketeer unless to use as examples.

Right now your fishing in the middle of the desert. The Fuma armor is a throw back to FF3 just as the Crimson Armor is a throwback to FF3's Red Mage, the Armor of Light is the Warrior of Light throw back. Onion Knight...ect...ect...Those were references to OLD games, not hints to something to come. Your's walking in the dark and using anything you can grab as examples.

No they don't. They do not specifically say there is a thief class. There currently IS no thief class ANYWHERE in the game. Thancred grew up with degenerates and learned to fight while with them. He is a Gladiator by class, thief by title. I can do hundreds of quests that focus on stealing as an Arcanist. That still makes me an Arcanist under the title of thief. Class and title do not mean the same thing. You can be a thief while under another Class or Job because stealing is an action, not a skill.

Uh...they don't say a Dojo is coming anywhere. We could have Yugiri training the Lominsians for another two or three years before anything gets established.

Yes it is just your imagination. You grasps at straws, put forth only your opinion and force it out as a fact. You see that something is coming simply because its what you want. They never say there is a thief class. There is no official statement to say that they were adding thief class soon. They never said there was any priority to add thief class. Yugiri can teach us our lv 55 Class skills in the expansion for all we know. And yes I said Class Skills, not Job skills, as in if the level cap is raised another 5 levels for the expansion, as an Arcanist, I can learn a secret technique from her homeland related to my magic. A new pet skill or a new enhancement buff for my pet, or a new DoT skill. A GLD can get a weapon skill similar to Thancred's and Yugiri's fighting style. There is a lot of ways to read what she said.

all i said is true. do the musketeer was added after yoshida have become director? no, jobs did come out. but not the class, it was already work on under tanaka, but Yoshida simply decide to not add Musketeer to the game and focus to add jobs that was more... final fantasy like. you can denie this but it's fact.

all the rest you try to proof that you don't want the thief in game. don't force me to post the whole discussion where Y'shtola and minfillia talk of Thancred past. he was thief until Louisoix make him stop, after he did learn the swordmanship from uldah. until now, we did know him as Gladiator, but, now we know that it's not him speciality... (and seriously from the CS of the fight of scion in mor dhona only an idiot will say that Thancred wasn't fighting like a thief/ninja)

about the Dojo, Yugiri say it while the last talk, she will open a dojo and train us.

now dude you can denie all you want, but i doubt anyone with a bit of brain will not think the same way. people ask for new class for age and suddenly they are throwing this at our face... it's hard to not imagine the class is coming soon.

ps you can want soo badly the musketeer it will not change the fact that i don't see it coming before long. too much trouble will rise with the musketeer. range versus melee balance in the team, no difference between an archer and a musketeer exept the gun/bow. it must be a pain in the ass to make it. the only way i see it it's a sort of mid-range almost melee pistol user.

in FFXI ninja was a tank, so this is the confirmed 3rd tanking class then?

There is nothing that points to the thief coming out before Musketeer. Thief may not come out until after the patch. Nothing says otherwise.

Where is your proof he decided not to work on it? There are live letters that say the exact opposite of what you claim. No, none of what you said is true. Everything you said is an opinion that you have. Your opinions are not facts and they are not truth.

Please, point out to where I or anyone else said we don't want it. I'm just trying to say that your opinions are not facts. You brought up the hints that are not hints because you misread something. How many times have I said it will be coming at a later point? Pratically every post I made in here says exactly that.

He was never a thief Class. Show me proof that he was a thief class before. I've posted the same scenario TWICE on how you are simply misreading the post. I can be a Thief and steal things if a mission tells me to do so. I can do all that while playing as an Arcanist because that would be my class, not theif. Being called a thief is having a title. Thancred is a Gladiator. Like all special NPCs, he DOES NOT FOLLOW THE RULES THAT WE THE PLAYERS HAVE TO FOLLOW. He has special animations JUST FOR HIM to make him special.

A dojo and a Guild aren't the same thing. She does open a dojo based on what I've seen where she is showing Lominsians a way to fight. This does not mean she will teach you a new class later on. In her Dojo you can, as I've said TWICE now, learn a new skill related to your class that is native to her people. A Gladiator can learn a skill that uses the Daggers that they naturally equip. I can possibly learn a new spell for my pets. A thaumaturge can learn a new destructive Magic Spell. A Pug can learn a new fighting Skill, either offensive or defensive. She could just teach us new ways to fight related to her people which would equate to a new skill with the level cap raise in the expansion.

Yes it is hard to imagine it coming soon because its NOT being thrown in our faces. You think it is and its your opinion that it is, but its not being thrown in our faces. A new class can come out in 2.25 not related to either Thief or Musketeer. It can come out in 2.3, 2.4, 2.5. There is no proof we are getting thief, there isn't even a definate promise that Thief is currently in the works. The only Promise we have is of Musketeer and "Other potential classes" appearing in the "future".

I play Magic Classes only. There will be even more trouble with another Melee DPS that will be useless in everything that all the current Melee DPS are useless in. Why play another class that won't be used, will get you kicked out of instances because you aren't needed, and won't even be requested for?

Musketeer has in game lore support, Live letter support, and in game info support. Nothing you claim to be pushing as facts have any support other than its your opinion.
