WP is 30 myth, not 50. Just ran it again to be sure. 10 Soldiery is correct. I'm guessing AK is the same, 30/10, but haven't run it to confirm.

Damn.. i really didnt want to grind all this myth out rates are atrocious.. well ..the new diablos instance will keep me happy for a bit.
Ifrit EX - 10 soldiery
I agree with the drop rate on soldiery but I think the Myth drops need to be higher on the Roulettes and even Higher for story stuff so new players can complete their story with older players. I don't think there is enough incentive for older players to help newer players unless they are friends or in your Free Company.
Yeah I can't say im a fan of the drop rates on myth. It was easier to farm the basic currency in patch 2.0 then it is now. I'd hate to be a fresh 50 right now trying to gear up.
It really needs to be buffed since it takes 5000 or so to get a full set and sets cant be shared between similar classes like for example darklight healing being good for white mage and scholar. The basic gear needs to be somewhat easy to acquire with the armoury system letting you play multiple classes.
Well, the basic gear is still dungeon loot @55-70 now, and CT@ 80 :P It's not like you have to start with full 90 gear.
But yes, they could've gone with a slightly increased rate for the easier dungeons, like maybe 45-50 Myth for WP/AK and also maybe 15 Soldiery instead of 10, but well, we got what we got.
On the other hand though, if they make myth easy to farm, then people will just skip anything between 55 and 70 and go straight to 80/90.
They keep changing stuff from patch to patch, makes it seem like they are updating on the spot without previous planning of the big picture.
I was pretty annoyed to see they nerfed tome drops. All this means is even more mindless grinding of the same few dungeons over and over again. I for one don't think I can tolerate it at this rate.
2.2.5 will probably buff the drops for soldiery (in 1.5 months or so). Until then I think they are encouraging people to do the new dungeons and whatnot. They did this around the 1.15 patch or whenever when they bumped up the myth drops from all the dungeons.
So places like WP and AK can expect like 20-30 maybe while Copperbell and Hauke around the 35-40 mark (give or take).
Speculation of course.
TY for this
Guess I can throw in the myth and soldiery drop rates for treasure maps. I didn't get any triple tome rewards from the small amount I did, but I assume they still happen.
Leather - No tomes, same as before.
Goatskin - 3 Myth
Toadskin - 5 Myth
Boarskin - 7 Myth
Peisteskin - 7 Myth, or occasionally 3 Soldiery
I am assuming Boarskin can also drop Soldiery once in a while, but I only did one, so I don't know for sure yet.
The rates are a bit low, but I think its a good thing in the long-run. It'll keep us busy longer. Plus it'll get people to focus more on one job, instead of playing with the "I main every single job!" attitude.
It's okay to have alt-jobs. You do not, however, need to have every single job with BiS gear. Pick something and stick with it!
Eh, I dunno about that. Sure soldiery is probably a little harder to cap now than myth was between 2.1 and 2.2, but I think the biggest problem is myth rewards didn't increase as much as they should have. They're exactly the same as they were in the 2.1 dungeons and extremely low on CM and praetorium. I didn't think to look for it, but I wonder if Aurm Vale (which used to drop a tiny amount of philosophy) now drops minuscule amounts of myth (thinking 1-3).
+1 karma for anyone who can tell me where the Philo to Myth exchange NPC is
Levi EX drops 20 myth 12 sol
Yea I was a little confused about it but after a night of playing and contemplating I think it's best they lowered the myth tomes. I mean most of us can farm coil for i90, if it remained 50 per we'd be capped in an couple hours and have tons of i90 from coil.. So I just think from a balance POV lowering myth was necessary, and it also slows the game down a bit (or stretches content out, rather).
I don't see the point of making myth so hard to come by, especially since you can farm coil all you want. All it's doing is making myth gear harder to obtain over allagan gear so people will just bypass it in favour of newer gear or allagan instead.
Ran Prae yesterday as part of main story roulette. You only get 20 mythology at the end. People say everything takes only monday to cap. SE implements slower tome grind. People complain OMG I actually have to play more than 1 day now.
Well there are no accessories in CT.. And very little CT gear has enough accuracy on it for coil which means, starting out, you may need a DL piece or 2 combined with CT gear to run coil.. I'm in this situation on my SMN, I got a few pieces of DL and CT, but need accessories now. I can run coil on mains for alt gear, but in general someone just starting out is not going to be able to completely skip DL..
Note the bold word of 'have', and find it ironic that it is not 'want'. There lies the major issue most find with the game.
so yes, they made it so you have to do 10 dungeons versus 9. However they are making you chose from only 3 dungeons and discounted the rest of the content.
On top of that, you need 30 dungeons alone for the animus weapon upgrades, after you went to fates in every zone.
another issue is in understanding the difference between 'content' and 'work'.
IMO, This patch is the example of failure since it adds 'work' but not entertainment.
Getting the animus weapon is like a t-shirt saying: I put in 80 hours into this game and all I got was this crappy thing which will be useless in 2 months...
Math: turns 1,2,4 gave 6 coffers for 150 myth for 3 fights, now it is 16 coffers for 160 myth for 8 fights.
A fight that gave 50 myth giving 20 now, is a 2.5 reduction for a fight that never even gave philos.
Sorry to pop the bubble, but this is a blatant signpost saying: if you want myth then either do CT (so it stays relevant), the 3 new dungeons or suffer.
we are being herded into content that SE wants us to do versus the fights we preferred.
The direction that SE is heading with ARR is clear. Maximum grind. Can't wait until the next tome when we get 1 at a time. Those that wanted more pointless grind should be pleased as punch, though. :P
yea... your right, I apologize for my error:
it is already semi worthless now. The high allagan (ilvl115), restored version of the 'weathered' series (ilvl110) and tidal wave (ilvl100) are better then it, although the tidal waves may be case by case on the weapon comparisons themselves.
ok, what are we crying about now?
High Allagan is basically irrelevant for the purpose of this conversation, do you really think the majority or even a sizable fraction of the playerbase will have the High Allagan by the time 2.25 rolls around? Hell, not all groups have even beaten Turn 5 by the time 2.2 hit, six months after its release. O_o
Even if so, the High Allagan are supposed to be top tier. The Zodiac is not. o.O It's supposed to be competitive.
The Tidal Waves do not make the Animus worthless at all, they are roughly equal, and, at 2.25, the Zodiac will outdo the Tidal Waves easily.
O_o The Weathered start at 100 and upgrade to 110 through an unknown mechanism that likely involves Coils, which not everyone participates in. This makes the Animus competitive for now, lagging behind a bit once people acquire the upgrade items for Weathered (how are they acquired? are they rare? will you have to compete with others for them?), and competitive again in 2.25.
Any way you look at it, this is a fine weapon option that will grow stronger and have unique features to it as the system expands.
Where is the problem?
Anyone have a updated table?
Hmm, gonna guess the new best tomes farming is the 4man dungeons. If we assume roughly as hard as AK back in 2.0, then it's exactly same rate as that to reach weekly cap: AK in 2.0 gave 30 myth, or 1/10 of 300 cap. Now we get 45 soldiery which is 1/10 of 450 cap. And since Weathered costs exact same numbers as the i90 myth, you're actually getting Weathered 1.5x times faster than i90 gear during 2.0.
Of course, lot of variables I might not know yet, but looks right about on track to me. Easier than the wait-3-weeks-for-a-chest of 2.0, but harder than cap-on-Monday-just-from-coil+a-few-runs it was for a while.
Hi,
I just did WP awhile ago, and it only gives a total of 30 Myth (10 for first boss, 20 for second boss and none for the last boss), as for the Soldiery, I'm not sure since I'm already capped when I cleared it.
Myth drop rates are terrible now outside of CT. It takes longer to get myth now than before the patch. The hard mode dungeons dont give any myth from the last boss anymore. Guess they didnt want people to be able to farm both soldiery and myth at the same time.
I notice you guys mentioning that the new hard modes give 50 Myth and 45 Soldiery, yet Im looking at the spreadsheet and I see that under "Expert Roulette" It says 0 Myth 45 Soldiery. Does the 50/45 Myth/Soldiery apply to the Roulette too?
