[HELP!!!] I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!

I would say if FFXIV is simply using this as an intro to the game and slowely ratchets things up in time I may one day get back to being "interested" in it but with it as it is I would not recommend this game personally. I am hoping that as time goes on things like "pushing buttons being stressful" wont be so much of an issue and the game will evolve into something great but until it does this game is and will continue to be a 30-45min romp once a week for me and I cant justify paying $15 for 2-3hrs gameplay just like I cant justify spending $60 on a brand new game if it has anything less than 10hrs of gameplay in it. For some they find more in this game than I do and for that I can applaud them and wish them the best but if you are unable to enjoy yourself all I can say is cancel your sub and if you have attachment just keep an eye on it maybe at some point you will find a reason to resub (I did to WoW after being gone 2 years and XI after being gone over a year so I wont rule out that I will be playing this game at some point again)

How the game is now is how it will always be, just with more instances. There will always be this horrible casual token system in place and weekly lock outs. After reading that interview with 4Gamer. Yoshida couldn't really handle hardcore games, so he isn't going to make anything even remotely close to that. If standing around town waiting for the DF to do some faceroll easy instance with no real open world content is something that doesn't seem interesting to you. Then this game is not for you.

It's funny because ARR forums are really similar to theirs with the same exact same kind of posts almost word by word blindly over defending the game along with people submitting actual feedback to improve the game but rarely get listened to, but I guess that's just common for all MMOs since TESO and Wildstar get the same kinds of posts too on various sites.

remember when that one forum post was made linking to an "Anonymous EA employee post" about how the company was going to push F2P and that the game was going to the crapper? i do.. i was like "nah dey wunt do dis, goway troll" then 2 months later when EA announced F2P i was like "damn i just resubed.. next time i listen to my gut and leave ASAP" well now my gut says " NOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA RUNWAY!"

Pretty much they as close to a pay to win game as it can possibly get while still feeling like they accomplished something.

Seriously. We get it. Some players have done everything and are bored. We seriously get it. Another thread listing off "Boring" features isn't going to change the fact that we get it. There is a small percentage of the player base with nothing to do. OK. If you seriously have every possible job to 50 then you've consumed the content faster than they could ever possibly provide it.

6 months of sub for me is equal to many things but as far as entertainment 4-5 rpg's or roughly 250hrs or more of gameplay via sales of used games or steam sales or bargain bin hunting or the age old books which 12 of them are typically about 150hrs. hard to compair that to 2hrs a month or 12hrs of gameplay total after the initial 15hrs or so to get to end game so let's be kind and say 30hrs. (note leveling times are based on pre fate nerf where you would get 2-4 levels an hour during the more Grindy areas due to quest gaps)

Sounds like speculation, because i haven't heard about them releasing player housing in 2.2.

On the topic of the OP, quit if you want, i don't care, and i seriously doubt many do care. If you have to ask other people for reasons why to play, rather than knowing for yourself, then you probably shouldn't be playing.

Went out to Applebees. Everyone gets the 2 for 25$. We all get drinks. Total is $66 and someone wanted me to leave a $9 tip after I bet him $5 he wouldn't steal one of their glasses. Fuck my life, I'm never paying to eat at applebees again lol

But man, sometimes that's just 15$ you could have used to do something else more fun. I subbed back to wow to help my friend get his CMs after I got mine and he is just working too much to get them done. 120$ for entertainment every month is like shit all to me, but plenty of other things I could have bought with $15 that are more valuable than just barely logging into a game.

Props to OP for playing the beejezus out of the game and not get burned as fast as I did. I have planned to take a break for at least half a year, since I already reached a point where the content seems trivial and arbitrary at best. I haven't even done coil and I feel like I don't need to since Coil gear is just a tiny upgrade to Myth gear to help folks clear the next turns easier. The way end game is set up feels uneventful and a chore, I am just burned out of the lame raiding before Coil.

I know Coil is supposed to be more fun but the fact that I am forced ( technically) to play DF before the real raiding begins. I have lost sight of the days when raiding was something to look forward to, SE you are doing it wrong!

And 5 months after all this the game was released in America. By the time we finally got to play the game, all of this had already happened.

I would like to point out while FFXI didnt have dynamis and stuff at launch but it did have a lot of other stuff NM's were in the game you had garrisons and delivery quests, you had stuff like bloodtear and steelfleece (the then equivalent to HNM) there was no bold claim that the game STARTS at 50, getting to 50 was part of the adventure. I played during the original Japanese beta and from the japanese retail on and I dont remember running out of content to do even after the first year of service (still have the crackler firework for that 1 year anniversery).

i could have done with a lot more quests and a much slower leveling process...
omg how about open world EXP parties using level sync! so i could play with my friends no matter what level we are... no time limit, no endless corridor.. just plunk down and smack everything while we chat up in teamspeak.
hell everything else is level synced, why not regular parties put together by players.

I wonder reading a lot of these posts: threads etcetera if people realize some of them at least that you can play more than on Monday there may not be a whole lot to do but yes it is possible play more then just on Monday. This mindset of only being able to play on Monday is odd.

I have to say the tittle calls too much the attention, I thought there was some play asking for help or something... Uh, anyways...

This eventually happens, it's a game, and in all games, the player can play more fast than the developers make more content or think it... So eventually you'll reach everything that can be done...

What to do now? Uhm... Well, start a new character with more people or friends?... It's probably what I would do because I like game and wouldn't mind repeat content...

Of course that would be worht of it if there could be a Reset option giving some reward for it as I suggested in this topic that only received nonsensse comments such as "This is not CoD": http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...estion-Idea%29

With that system people could rewatch-redo quests, content, grinding, whatever with a purpose, it would be... A Character Reborn...?

And there's some people that like so much a game that doesn't mind to repeat it sometimes, offline or online, and if you have rewards or different things for it, better, I'm sure it's not so troublesome like make an expansion for the game, thinking from the point of view of Devs.

id rather run around working toward a goal stretched over several hours than poping into a dungeon for loot lottery. id like to look back and say " what a long, strange trip its been" after completing my goal... and then finding a new goal the next day... nothing in FFXIV comes anywhere close to that.

well wow got my resub money for this month.. then canceled the next day... im posting all my stuff on the AH clearing bags / selling MoP mats and misc junk... preparing for WoD.. eventually some one is going to make an MMO that will keep my attention for several years like FFXi did.

As much as I really hate telling anybody to quit, it might be your best option to temporarily quit. There are a lot of other good games this month (south park - awesome, infamous, metal gear, titanfall, deus ex the fall, eso next month), so maybe give something else a try and then come back in a patch or 2 so that you have more to do. I have several friends in the exact same situation as you and that is what they are doing. Plus if you wait long enough the game will feel fun again, it seems like you've grinded all the fun out of things for the time being.

Go play Everquest.

There are like 19 expansion to play though, lol. You can go back and solo/merc/box all the raid content in every expac by outleveling it by 10 levels (Think they are up to 105 as the level cap).

Endless amounts of xp grind with AAs, and the world is so big it would take years to visit all of the locations.

And the graphics suck so bad you can buy 6 accounts and have a 12-man raid team with mercs on a single computer, and they "allow" you to use ISBoxer.

its one of my fav F2P games my ranger is 62 atm, i play it when "modern AAA" MMO's cant hold me and Maplestory is down for maint ( 3-4 times a week )

Pre ordered WoD, i am enjoying my new "Free 90" selling off my MoP items saving for WoD. oh and yeah i know WoD doesn't launch until Dec but hey i already canceled my wow sub only need it for the month anyhoo.
SE could of had my sub money but... they forgot what made "Final Fantasy" godly... the quality... and it is just not here, this is a game designed not to be a wow clone, crammed into a wow clone box.

after reading all the new stuff coming out for 2.2 we are not going to be returning for a very long time. i just hope our FC and LS's are the only ones that feel FFXIV isn't worth the 8.99/mo price, would hate to see the plug pulled or it go F2P if the population drops too much.
