Please allow this to be turned off.

I sense OP is channeling the spirit every WHM who goes into pvp with their +1. That relic is like a big target on their head screaming "I DONT HAVE PVP GEAR LET THE BLITZ ENSUE"

People pick the weirdest things to be annoyed about.

I traded 900 myth so all my relics would glow.

I like the Atma look of PLD sword/shield more than the glowing look of the Animus version. If there is a way to turn the glow off so I could maintain this look it would be appreciated.

LE EPIC RELIC GLOW!!!!!

I don't mind the glow cos it gives me a sense of progress, though just having a non-glow weapon for once is a nice change since it's not so in your face.

I'm for the option though, options are always nice.

Um spend 50k gil at the calamity salvage to obtain a new relic i80 and use glamour prisms. :) Personally haven't attempted this though, perhaps having relic zenith blocks you from purchasing a duplicate.

Because I think gear should stand out for its actual base design, not its effects which I think come off as a bit tacky and cheesy.
To me, putting glow on something to make it look powerful is the equivalent of printing a bird on something to make it trendy. It's overplayed and gimmicky in my eyes, much like the word "Epic".

If other people want to wear and use them, that's great, but I would just like the option to turn it off. The glamor works fine, but I just think it would be a lot simpler to have it as an option.

Strikes me as off. Just because it's irrelevant to you doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. Assuming "Other stuff" means things you're interested in.
That aside, I should hope it's not too much of a burden on whatever team handles it.

No, it works. i have turned off the glow of my zenith this way.

They could possibly make the relic glow every colour in their own spectrum lol

Hey guys, if you want boring armor and weapon designs with limited glow effects, Elder Scrolls Online was just released.

Might suit you better than Final Fantasy.

You can rebuy the orginal version from the Calalmity Salvager and use it as a Glamor. Done

I was expecting to necro this thread, but apparently others are feeling similarly. I like elegant designs of weapons and what not, but the hideous glowing on a lot of these weapons are just hiding the design and looking seriously out of place in this game. All I can think is really bad mmo weapons. I'm glad there is glamour options now, but not only does the glowing look bad, and is not even done in a tasteful/minimalistic manner, it just clashes horribly in the game scenery as a whole. It makes it hard to take it seriously. Yes, I know this is a Fantasy game, but there are tasteful ways to go about this. The lantern type effects are nice. Allagan weapons are nice. Relic Zenith and so on are kind of an eyesore, alongside the upgraded leviathan weapons. This is just my opinion, but I'm certain other people see this too. =(
