It does! Definitely in Coerthas, where it never really stops.

That climate change lol..
Considering how different Thanalan and other areas are since Dalamud's fall though.. haven't seen too much issue with rain.. it rains in the places that make sense at least (i.e everything but southern where we instead get scorching heat waves.. if it rains there I've missed it o.o)
All the pretty Roe women everywhere, but especially in La Noscea. ;)
I'm also rather fond of the coastal areas, regardless of weather.
I like the Russian-inspired Sylphlands. And how Ramuh is like a blonde, thunder-wielding Rasputin.
I like how the Garlean Generals could effectively make a legit Sentai group.
I like how spacious the Scion HQ is in RevToll.
And lastly, I like the fact that Leviathan's (almost) copying Val Rodos from PSO2. It's almost as if you're prepping for some kind of collab with Sega.
I love the footprints in the snow and san-Oh.
What I love about Eorzea mostly came from the old 1.0 era:
- I like how Shroud looked back then. When I was quite young, I did got lost in the forest. Shroud 1.0 overall feels much like it.
- I like Gridania feels back then, felt more secluded, perfect for crafting.
- "On Windy Meadows"! :D
- I like how Coerthas looked back then, even with copy-pasted terrain. Only has sparse snowy patches, unlike now which is totally snow field which I didn't really like.
- Very few black loading screen, unlike now although kinda understandable for multiple platform.
- I miss how traveling to certain area provides a challenge on it's own, like trekking through fields with level 99 mobs.
- Boat ride, wish SE add more activity there instead of removing it all together.
Still... ARR has it's own merit. For one thing, the view on the far reaches of La Noscea area, especially the Outer region, are amazing. And Thanalan's desert area finally open for exploration, albeit kinda small area.
I really enjoyed the main story.
Having you start as a mere lowly adventurer doing some menial tasks and finish as a key personnage of Eorzea. Quite cool!
Another thing I really love is not being bound to my class/job.
(The Armoury System - even though classes got the cold shoulder with ARR)
Finally, the graphics. Everything, in general looks great and/or have nice animation.
(Want to explore more and access new spots!)
That's awesome, I was talking to a friend about this the other day, concerning the upgrade from DX9 to DX11 in the coming months and how hopefully when that happens weather changes will be much more noticeable.
Such as the ground actually looking wet, or puddles forming in some areas that splash when you run through and gradually dry away over time.
Or a blizzard being a true blizzard, where it obscures your visual depth so that you can pretty much only see yourself and maybe a couple yalms infront of you, false shadows and such.
I would really like to see special monsters come out only during particular weather effects as well, such as how FF12 did it. Certain places had "seasons" type of things, where the landscape and monster types would completely shift depending if it was a dry or wet season. Something like that would be fantastic, keep things interesting, especially with Fates so it's not the same thing all the time.
Have you ever looked around in south-east of Revenant's Toll in the gloom weather (the swirly pink mist)? It's breathtakingly beautiful.
I find almost everything breathtakingly beautiful in this game. Is the world smallish? Maybe, but I prefer a smallish world with exceptional detail to the enormous boring wastelands featured in some other games.
I love the guildhests and the dungeons before the high level scenario ones. In each dungeon/guildhest, they help train a player how to do more complicated techniques. In a dungeon, you will notice that you encounter the final bosses attacks in elements of the early fights and during the other bosses. These elements will then be in the next dungeon, along with a new set of elements to learn. Slowly, they are doing their best to have you knowledgeable by 50 so that you will be a successful grouping partner. Of course, some folks don't learn anything anyways, but the fact that thias was designed this way.. completely blows my mind! It's never been done before, really. I love it.
I love the gorgeous panoramic vistas.
I actually of Coerthas when it's sunny because it's so rare. Standing on the edge of a cliff looking at Ishgard is pretty cool at night. (The closed off town is called Ishgard right?)
Your in the wrong server I can't keep up with all the conversation on my server :-P
Gridania as a whole I love everything about it except for the places sealed off lol I want to
Explore :p Open those paths I say !
The sceneries and surroundings are really well made.
Scenery: I like Coerthas Sunset the most. It kinds of give a very realistic feeling of watching the sun setting down behind the snowy mountains.
Characters: I like Lalafell's emote
Music: Limsa Lominsa daylight and night music(very well versed based on day and night), Ultima HM battle music, Titan of every phase music and final boss BGM music like Lahabrea and Twintania (gives a dark feeling type of battle music)
Battle: Twintania Battle (currently I would say the most challenging and thrilling battle ever where you have times when you can breathe and sometimes your heartbeat skips a beat)
Others: NPC will always have their gaze locked on you when you get near them :P, I like to sometimes fool around with NPC Chocobo by jumping up and down and their head also nodding up and down each time you do that XD
I love the details - even when you type in chat your mouth moves...how awesome is that?
I love the sight of the Crystal Tower's spire glowing in the evening sky.

Hum..
It's a little hard to think of something since the rebuild. 'Not claiming things aren't as pretty, just I tended to be swept up by the scale of things in the original game and there aren't many places still quite do that. But that said.. I do still get that sort of feeling from a few places. Camp Overlook and Camp Bronzelake, with their view over the water and the Nymian ruins; the Sea of Clouds; and the view to the horizon from some parts of the Sagolii desert, for instance. Oh yes, and Verdant Drop / Larkscall. It's not quite so obvious or abrupt a realisation as it used to be, but the moment where you realise the ground isn't the actual forest floor.. .. gosh can you imagine what must be down where the actual bases of the heaven's pillars are?
What I love about Eorzea is how each every area of the game has so much detail. Their are so many little things and big things in the zones, towns, and dungeons that don't need to be there but by being there add so much life to the areas. A massive fallen tree laying on a massive stone slab over a small pond in the forest, an abandoned destroyed shack overlooking a cliff. Every time I go through an area I see little things that I had never noticed before and I think that's impressive. It's one of the things that truly makes the game look so beautiful.
Catgirls...
theres to much to think so here what i like about the world in photos
Home Where the heart is.
The forests of Gridania, the desert of Thanalan, and the fields of La Noscea during the day. The music is a near-perfect complement to all visuals.
I recommend to everyone to take up a DoL class and you'll gain an appreciation for the visuals. Most people don't catch the nuances because they can only see as far as what their weapon is pointed at. Fishing was really enjoyable to level up and the logs and descriptions add a nice touch to it.
Personally, I think the Odin weather might be the best visual. The darkness that drowns out the colors. i'm not sure if it's ash that's falling, but it really sets a tone.
I love how it manages to make me miss Vana'diel
Probably already got brought up, but I like Skull Sundering stuff in Coerthus because it causes a patch of snow to blow back behind my feet. Dunno what other moves do this, but I thought it was cute when I first did it (so much so that I kept doing it and doing it.. and doing it..).
I didn't even finish Camate's post. Visibly wet?! Wet see through robe parties OH hellsyes! Bring it, brrring it!!! Brrrriiiiinggg ittttt!
