This is a good thing. Skillz in this game means memorizing a rotation and running all over the place like some bad action game... hopefully future content goes the direction of Coil and CT (position yourself, use the right skills) than the likes of Titan and Ultima.

Zerg = Everyone attacks the boss and DEEPS it down by facerolling their PC. You can't do this in CT. And besides that, there are only a few spots you could AFK without dying due to AOE and such.

Having great gear doesn't make a great player.

At 30+ CT runs now since 2.1, not once did an item drop I actually wanted, let alone having to share loot on it.

I hate CT in my own special way. They ought to double the amount of chests for people with zero RNG luck. This place is a god damned chore.

I rather enjoy CT, but only because of the sheer amount of random fail.

Tanks pointing Shadow Dragon tails at the raid. DD refusing to move off main boss to kill bombs/claws. Melee DD bum-rushing Atomos while three people are standing on the platform facepalming. DD going balls out on the giants the second they pop, before tanks have established hate. Tanks pulling skeletons onto another already dead skeleton.

I could go on forever. This run amuses me.

I pretty much disagree with the op on all points. He doesn't appreciate the finer points of game balance at all.

If you are doing CT on reset day, you better:

A: Know the fight
B: Be prepared for harassment if you don't execute every mechanic flawlessly
C: Be prepared to talk sh*t back if needed, or have a good lol at the people who take a game too seriously
D: If you are new, feel rushed by hardcore players with no time to waste and no patience for newbs
E. All of the above
F. None of the above


As far as the loot, IMO it could be worse, but also could be better

Elitists? In FFXIV? There is such a thing?

heh CT is the funnest dungeon thus far imo lol, music from FF3 and bosses from FF3, pretty cool :D

SE can't do much about trolls, I'm not a fan of the loot lockout either though

Best I could get from skimming it is that you don't like people talking down to others, which is hardly specific to CT and that you disagree with the loot lockout.

There are many threads about the loot lockout. Could always contribute to them rather that what reads as a wall-of-text rant.

Ummm... no. Some of it is more useful than i90 pieces. Ballad Corselet has more accuracy than AF+1 or Allagan.

I like ct I find it fun. Wish I had more luck with RNG, but that is the nature of the beast.

I find it mess frustrating than PS tbh. I play late usually 12am-4am, so sometimes I just enjoy easier content I can do tiered or drunk lol.

Worst part for me is the jerks in the other alliances and the trash talk in chat. People are absolutly awful sometimes but you give them that power. Simply ignore them, don't respond. It's like having an angry wasp trapped in a glass. It can buzz and sputter and sting all it wants and you can move on.

If things get bad in chat I can't help but throw in a "I love lamp" every time, or something absolutely ridiculous and off topic.

Eh. I usually don't let one or two whiny players get in the way of things. I just keep telling everyone to play nice and focus on the task at hand, because I do think this dungeon is a lot of fun. And I do like the dungeon very much. Especially the fight with Acheron. The FFIII music, the classic style of the boss that echoes FFIII perfectly without deterring from FFXIV's style, the unique way the boss is handled with the ridiculously-shaped AoEs... that might not be very fun for casters, but for me, it's a lot more fun than standing around and beating down on the boss, then moving with the tank, then beating him down again. And I especially appreciate that similar kind of mechanic being passed onto Ash from Haukke Manor HM as well, even though he's a teensy bit harder to take down if the party doesn't know what's going on.

Yeah, there are a few rookies who *gasp* haven't run CT before, but everyone's been there. Not everyone can learn the fights from watching a video and some need to run things more than once. Are there some trolls that might queue? Sure, but if you queue in with a premade, chances are that trolling will be greatly reduced, at least on your team. And really, only three tanks are ever really necessary throughout the entire dungeon, and you get six. If one or two decides to be a derp, you still have four that can complete it. Just know that, if you're running Behemoth with only 3-4 competent tanks, the DPSes have to take out the bombs.

But yeah. It's silly to allow yourself to get trolled in a dungeon meant for ilvl 55 as if it's meant to be as hard as Coil, when it's as hard as WP at best.

I've macro'd the explanation of all the fights. Ever since then and 14 ct runs later, haven't really had a problem for me at least.

Imagine if there was no loot lockout. New level 50 players could just ride through crystal tower with 23 other people over and over until they decked out in i80, completely skipping all progression. They would skip all the 4 man gear and darklight, at least 30-35 ilevels.

If you just think about it for a second, the loot lockout starts to make a lot of sense. Plus it is LESS restrictive than Binding Coil, which you mentioned.

There are so many pieces for bard that have accuracy that it would still be inferior, its incredibly easy for bards to get accuracy capped. Not to mention food as well.

If you're choosing CT gear instead of Myth or Allagan, you're doing it wrong.
