Don't get me wrong, I can see your point, it's just that I and most people I would imagine don't see any problem present at all, so I simply disagree with you about poor programming and a need to change it and suggest you try to play around with your settings and mostly gameplay, because chances are you'll find something that will be okay with you too. It's just another mechanic and one that even makes sense in my opinion.

The second point was - don't try to attack developer and especially compare to other games, that makes a bad argument and makes it look like it's just a bad-attitude-complaining rather than a suggestion/discussion and I somewhat suspect this is why the responses here are mostly negative too.

I did not attack anybody in this thread. Find it ! Different people see different things and depending on your age and experiences. I know there will be negative responses. That's unpreventable. Just ignore them, simple enough... and this is not a thread to please everybody.

Face target healing is useful for CT. Its help you find out of range targets by pointing you in their direction.

In most other situations its the devil, it will try to get you killed as much as it can...

My dps macros are something like this now.

I gotta agree with not needing to face your target to cast. The narrow window of a caster's vision always pisses me off when my target falls away from my view. (Line of sight with an object or flanks me while mid cast.)
Caster's are gimped like this in pvp too.

I just keep the setting on autoface off. Having it on killed me all the time, and after I discovered the setting I never got back but yeah, when I'm DPSing, especially on Bard, it gets very clunky and say in a fate by the time I manage to face target it's dead already.

I don't really see why people is so against the possibility of making a separate facing option for healing, since it works differently. Would this change hurt anyone? True you can find workarounds, but you can for most things (like precasting as a workaround for Benediction, since it's being discussed now) but doens't mean it couldn't be better.
As for legacy camera, never tried it, will have to, I don't even kno what it does exactly.

And to the OP, sadly I agree you shouldn't make comparisons with other games, especially WoW, that gets you a lot of hate by default :/

I don't mind either way, if having to face targets was taken out or kept in for healing, really isn't a huge deal for the most part, especially playing with legacy camera settings.

What legacy does, is instead of your camera linked to your character, it's independent, so you don't get that whole, character turning to attack/heal something and taking you with it, instead it just turns the character while leaving your camera in the same spot. Makes kiting a billion times easier.

So, today I finally tried legacy camera...I love it, my life is so much easier and my add spins much less (cause camera turns when I say it and not by own will) though it seems to me the game is heavier in that mode, is it just my impression?

Your camera might be moving more drastically now that you move it yourself when moving which, I suspect, increases the load on your GPU. Either something like that, or your mind is playing tricks on you. Just the movement control setting itself shouldn't have any noticable effect on your hardware performance.

As someone who can't play anything that requires first person without getting sick, I understand what you're saying. That said, I play in legacy mode just fine, I just have to zoom my camera out. Considering a lot of this game's mechanics need that anyway, it works out nicely.

I wish it was just my mind playing tricks :P When I'm in narrow corridors, also, it tends to get stuck if I try moving it away with the mouse, only works with arrows. But for the rests it's working wonders and sure gives me less camera sickness then normal one (and I know camera sickness well, can't play Portal for anything in the world).I fear I derailed the thread <.<

legacy camera also made my life in an instant 100% easier as healer :P i would suggest to everyone to get used to it. this movement freedom is just amazing. best thing a game designer could have developed xD

I think people generally doesn't use it cause they don't know about it. The other camera is default, and there's no tooltip saying what legacy camera is. I had someone asking me "but is it only avalaible to legacy players?". Many are also habitudinary, and since they always used normal one they don't wanna change. Me, I only wish I had changed to it earlier. And now I can finally autoface for attacking, my bard is very grateful, even if it's still weird how someones the character attacks while by graphics facing the oppsoite side :P
