I thought they were going to be limited? If not, then it's not a problem, of course.
I guess... the cardboard housing might be a good idea.
lol where are these houses? rich part of long island? <_________<
w/e i can buy one myself anyways :D
hmm 60 people each 100k = 6 mil already.
4m/8m, really the cheapest price or the max. price? Don't get it cheaper every 6 hours? What would be the max. price?
I am thoroughly shocked that people are this poor. I only just now got a crafter to 50 and have been surviving on gathering jobs and I have nearly 4m.
Even if I didn't have a gathering job I could've made that cash on Karakuls and some other choice farmables I'm aware of. I thought most people were carrying 500k-1m in their pockets but I guess not. I'm honestly and truly shocked, where has everyones money been going?
HOW DO PEOPLE HAVE MILLIONS IN GIL!! I barley have 100k
I guess some people are just better at playing the Marketplace than others. My small FC, five members of close friends both RL and from FFXI, was so excited to have 2m saved up for a FC house, but hearing how expensive the land will be is really discouraging. Sure, the price will drop every six hours, but without knowing how far the price will fall after each interval...
What hurts the most is that there's almost no good news I can take out of this and tell people.
o.O
I'm on Goblin. I made 6 million alone fairly easily and I never sold a single piece of Vanya and I help people with Titan for free. I also Majored in Business and Marketing and know what I'm doing when it comes to selling things, real or digital. I'm not bashing on you or anything, but Goblin's market just recently dried up. Like within the last week maybe. And an hour of my time can still net me anywhere from 30-150k depending on my luck. You just might not be focusing your efforts in the right direction..
My FC is small and on a legacy world. We did manage to raise 4 mil for the house but asking us to come up with another 4 mil to buy even the smallest land plot is stupid. FC house or not that is price gouging. How much do they plan to come down to over time?
If not below 2 mil I don't see them being something I care about. I really don't feel right sucking off the people in my FC to buy a house for bling. Small plot was fine with us but 8mil? Come On.
Yeah if large housing is anywhere near 50 mil like people are saying count me out.
That kind of a gil sink is crazy.
Some legacy world market board prices have been ~6x that of new worlds, so I'm not really surprised there's a price difference.
Moderately stately homes in the US cost upwards of $5M, and 99% can't afford those either. :)
My 24k says otherwise Yoshi. Had about 8m in v1 at one point. Haven't broke 300k in v2. For various reasons. Really I don't care too much though. However I do feel bad for my FC members that have to pitch in for it if they want it.
This will be a great long term goal for FCs. And with prices high, all the plots wont get scooped up right at launch.
Everything else in this game is somewhat fast, I dont mind a long term goal every once in a while.
800k for small was understandable
5mil for med
and 10 mil for large would have been wonderful but the prices there throwing around are just insane
And different prices per sever that is total BS
Knowing how lame SE has been lately , I wouldn't be surprise that every 6 hours the plots go down by 100 gil. Please make personal housing sooner than later. Getting that kind of money from ppl is like pulling teeth.
You dont see the issue this presents? So now individuals favor one sever vs another?
The real issue is deeper my friend.
1. sever transfers from legacy to normal severs(you have to balance the economy first)
2. A huge amount of gil is still floating around from sql injections( never delt with on legacy severs)
3. Stabalize a crashing market(which it wont do)
These are the major reasons for the price and the different prices.
Its insane this part of the game is headed in the wrong direction.
...
So sinking more gil on legacy servers wont help deal with the excess gil? Man this is shocking news. Favor one server over another? Are you serious? So you want your houses for less work than other servers or what? Just because the number 8M is more than 4M does not mean you have to work more for the house, SE tries to value each servers gil and they see that earning 8M gil is the SAME WORK as a normal server's 4M gil...
wow some people.
People see a greater number and think its more work. They just dont understand economy
I never said it did. But if you read all the responses I have about this it seems that a fair majority of people are completely clueless on how to make gil in this game, when it was surprisingly easy to some of us. To me, it's tough to understand how people could 'not' research and figure out what is in demand and sink into that market. And all this junk about crafting...I have 4 lvl 50 crafters and I make much more money doing other things. Things that I thought were common knowledge but apparently not.
And regardless of whether or not you have a 'degree', to know to look for what the 'demand' is is still a primary principle of learning business. Just because you know that doesn't mean it's so cut and dry for everyone else. Stuff like that is lost upon others, hence 55/70 posts in this thread alone
My FC saved only 1.4 million gil. We were aiming for the biggest plot of land but man that price, no way we are getting an FC house anytime soon.
4 million is nothing.... what have people been doing with their gil?
So shall we change the price on all seperate servers?
Personally im finding the punishment dished to legacy players by the Dev's with each release/patch 2.1 is starting to get unforgivable.
I can see 2.2 screwing us again, 2.3 screwing us, 2.4 screwing us at this rate. It started small & is now getting worse with the first patch.
There were very nice things in this game that could only be gotten spending 100+ hours/week grinding content. That's an amount of time many players cannot afford. Now there are new nice things that can be gotten only with many millions of gil. It's just a different kind of measure that a different set of players can afford.
Plus, the instance servers for housing areas are a real-world limited resource. I'm not surprised they priced them high and made them available only to the ~1000 FCs per world at first.
I'm going to start off saying that I think you might be over reacting just a tad here. The sky isn't falling. Housing costs across the US vary quite a bit for the same sized house and land. You don't see a mass exodus from California to Oklahoma.
1. Well, there is no mention of Legacy server to non-Legacy server transfer happening anytime soon. There is also a Gil cap on the amount you can transfer with you. Even if you purchase items as a way to get around that, the value of Gil from server A does not equal the value of gil on server B. It's not a 1:1 ratio. That 3mil gil item you just bought, well is worth 1mil on the server you just transferred to. People need to get past the big number game.
2. Please tell me more on your insights into SE's network and STF unit's work. I wouldn't mind some sources either so I can be enlightened. Please, anything, something. And I don't want some hearsay, or a cousin of a friend of a friend crap.
3. Sweet an economics lesson, please share your insights on this. Making blanket statements aren't going to clearly explain your point of view. I'd love to hear more this.
What punishment exactly? We (legacy) players came into the game with a crap ton of gil. Our economy was jump started by not only gil, but also items, crafting jobs, materials, etc.. What the legacy servers do won't be the same as non-legacy servers.
In what world do you live in where you can go to one spot on the globe and pay for the same thing at the same cost in a different spot in the globe? (And I'm not talking about Amazon here folks, and hell even then taxes can apply to vary the price.) Different economies different prices, hell that's why we have an exchange rate.
Interesting, thought actually. How funny would it be if each server had a different name for Gil?
1 Exacibur Gil does not equal 1 Malboro Gil
