Concerns about the boosts to drg and mnk

Monks are preferred over Dragoons pre-patch

Since monks and dragoons are recieving an equal boost to dps, monks will still be preferred post-patch. Nothing will change. Monks didn't need the buff, but hey, i'm not complaining!

Sadly, this would be all fixed if Yoshi would stop being scared and grant access to real haste for players (mobs can use it) and as we know haste would have a global cap so it wouldn't even touch MNK. MNK is only high because it has a personal form of haste - DRG has basically nothing lol. The AoE damage is fairly weak but the directional (doom spike) is strong.

Whether people want to admit it or not, DRG does need adjustments and buffs or heck even reimplementing some 1.2x versions like the old Ring of Thorns combo. Sometimes when he describes DRG I feel he's talking more about 1.23 DRG where positioning mattered most since monsters had Front/Back/Left/Right hit boxes which mattered on some bosses (even in XI) where hitting from back for example produced no damage.

With a proper AoE rotation DRG can do some pretty crazy damage, and doom spike is AoE albeit in a straight-line its wider than it looks s well. With jump animations not clipping into the GCD now DRG should be getting more than a 10% increase in damage over a prolonged fight. That being said MNK will still have a ST damage over DRG.

It's a DPS not support. This isn't 1.0, no more CNJ Cross-cross and songs are situational otherwise detrimental (besides Foe). You talk iconic FF, notice Dragoon and MNK have debuff / DoT abilities in this game, far from traditional straight or critical DPS.

If SE feels that Bard as they say need a slight damage adjustment. I hope it is based on their data and testing. Not players blindsided by Parser #s that don't show skill, gear, death, immobilization, proper rotations/execution, etc. You know the vital components to accurately compare scenarios.

This 100%. 1.23 BRDs were shunned because of the immobilize the skills cost us. Many times in 1.23 I would die in Ifrit HM because i was using a skill and got hit by eruptions. Now ppl want us to lose even more dps than we already have? Give me a break. With this damage boost nobody should be complaining about BRDs dmg because it will be still the lowest of all jobs. I said before, my SMN does more damage than my BRD does and that job isn't nearly as geared as my BRD is.

I would rather we get more ways to manage TP. I run out during Conflags on Twintania from going at full capacity even with bard songs and invigorate. They should add TP regen to Fists of Wind I think, along with a slight haste/skill speed increase maybe. A ranged Greased Lightning method to keep it up (like a Chi Blast) or something would be nicer than just increasing the length of Greased Lightning (which doesn't really solve any problems IMO).

I'm usually not worried about my damage now that I have nearly full i90. I do think Monks kind of suck until they geared though. Essentially, instead of overall DPS, I think more ways to keep TP up and do more attacks would be good too.

I dislike the current Greased Lightning management altogether and it needs a change. I agree on the TP management also.

I agree that MNK is a late bloomer as BRD is the early one. BRD's DPS ceiling is pretty low and more ilvl90 pieces doesn't really effect DPS as the earlier lvl50 upgrades. I feel the only time a BRD can beat another DPS in T5 is if they got lucky with no Conflags, otherwise if everyone is on par, BRD is last.

10% Dmg is nothing.
Right now, MNK and DRG are two jobs almost died. People start to roll melee after heard dmg boost.
To be honest 10% Dmg is nothing. We will still see WP Rs lf Blm or brd all times. Melee has real less population and they desired a boost.

If TP is your problem then I hope you never play bard at endgame... We are always asked to have a song active of some sort which reduces our damage by 20% AND asked to AoE a lot. Song+AoE=No TP for BRDs. If the cross class changes removes the buff from DRG and MNK and Invigorate, the majority of BRDs will never AoE again.

I think what yoshi meant is that blms have unlimited MP as oppose to drg and more worse Mnks have TP limitations.

It is true that no mnk can keep up dps at 100% (rear or not) for a long fight. Mnks usually get through that with (party)gear and experience, but in the end they are essentially living on invigorate 2min windows. I would say that drops damage by as much as 20% in longer fights.

And blms are strrrrrong when you set them up right. Are they 10% stronger? Not sure, but they won't be that badly with the 2.1 balance, i can garantee that.

Srsly half my coil group has a full DRG set, while I havent seen but 2 healer drops, evar.

It seems like a lot of people don't think mnk needs the dam boost but drg does.

My main job is DRG(full rotation allagan,wyrm gears,relic+1) and i see a lot of BLMs full DL doing more damage than DRG and MNK. sorry but DRG damage still low. if you not believe us just play as DRG and you will see what i mean ^^ you need evade AOE, need do rotations,need move etc. BLM don't have any risk and yes don't need evade AOE like meeles
