Not able to dye certain gear - community thoughts?

Every time I see the word "iconic" get thrown around, I have to remind myself that grinding my teeth is not healthy. >_>

It's a ridiculous excuse, especially when these supposedly "iconic" (*gag*) armors are given different color schemes on NPCs. I don't give a rat's patootie about theoretical person A wanting to dye their white mage AF purple and green, or that monk who wants to turn their hideous yellow monstrosity into a most soothing shade of pink. That's all on them. There should never be exceptions like that when it comes to appearance customization.

I really don't like it, i hate it, i want to color my geara at least like in GW2 :<

And i heared the reason was "I dont want WHM to be black or BLM to be white" <-- something like that yoshi sad... but then i dont get the AF gear that is black and white for those classes...

I've played the game since launch, had multiple max level characters, and it doesn't change that SWTOR sucked even before it went F2P. The selection of mod gear was extremely limited, and a half-decent amount of options didnt even start opening up until F2P (though they're still terrible options). The customization system itself is lackluster compared to other MMO vanity systems where you can apply the stats from any piece of gear to the skin of any piece of gear and even apply multiple dyes. Sorry for not agreeing SWTOR should be on a pedestal. Thanks for the fanrage rant though.

That's pretty funny because I would love it if I could dye my monk gear white. It would look so much better than yellow!!!! Everyone would probably dye it white though.

I agree with alchemists, and dyers everywhere, we should be allowed to dye everything why just cut it off at armor how about weapons/custom making them or something? That's great too :D

I agree if you're going to put the option to dye equipment in the game make it for everything. If I want a blood red monk af2 body let me make one. Diversity is awsome, being able to dye what I want the way I want makes equipment feel more personalized.

No one has yet given a good reason why we shouldn't be able to dye ALL gear including AF. Because you "find it weird" is not a good reason.

The biggest one I see come up is, "Oh, but WHM has to be in white and BLM has to be in black!" But what do those people think about Vanya?

Stupid limitation. One of the reasons GW2 is so fun for me was the fact that I could look -any way- I wanted while kicking ass and doing the hardest content. Everything but AF should be dyeable. The amount of clones is staggering. I have much less fun when everyone not only lookis the same but has the same skills too. There's really nothing to set 1 player apart from another besides how they play, and that to me is a huge problem.
