My question is, how do we obtain the rest of Snow's and Lightning's outfit?
Right, I'll get right on leveling 5 other characters to 45. We'll just forget the whole idea of having those characters to level whenever I don't feel like playing my main, so leveling them all up in one go would kind of defeat the purpose of their existence...
It's ridiculous to lock the outfit behind level walls. And almost as ridiculous is the way the outfits are gender locked.
You say this as though it's something new in the MMO world.
It's not SEs fault that some of you decided to play 13 different characters instead of focusing on one.
Can't see lightning also mobs are popping up dead again... How can u get credit with nothing to attack? Her quest line should ha e been instanc cuz this is just not fun.
It's also ridiculous that anyone should have to work for a reward. I understand a little more the people who don't have a char to 50 who wont be able to finish all the chapters, but again, if you haven't put the time in like some other people, then no, you should not just be handed the rewards, I have a job, family, etc. and prioritize my own life. If you put other things above the game (please say you do) then you made that choice and should not be whining when you don't get the same stuff other ppl are who put in the time and effort on this particular venture.
That aside, its different to be whining that "oh, I can do it on my main but not all the way through on my other chars." I choose to make alts as well, like having alts, but if they are not the right level for certain content then they just are not going to be able to participate. Its not like there will never be any more events that they will be able to participate in.
I must say i'm very disappointed with this event.
Making it a Fate was a bad idea, it would have been much more fun as a Dungeon instance.
You can't even see lightning when there are tons of people on the screen.
And making the difficulty designed for 4 players when there are at least 50-100 players fighting makes it a bit underwhelming.
On the bright side at least we are getting final fantasy 13 themed weapons and gear.
Also, if I someone changes sex after using a fantasia, can change the clothes in any way to the ones of their corresponding new sex?
Yes you can. I have all but one weapon right now.
You get two packages per fate (for a silver or gold rating).
Also remember, the fate only counts for the event, if Lightning shows up. About 25% of the way in, Lightning either shows up, or doesn't. If you don't see her dialogue across your screen, that means it is just the regular version of the fate, and you won't be getting the tokens. From what I've seen however, is it goes every other spawn. So if she doesn't appear, if you wait, she'll most likely be in the next one.
I was wondering if there has been any word about whether or not we'll be able to store the weapons/armor in the armoire eventually.
Because of course everyone who is ever going to play this game started at launch, and nobody else is ever going to buy it at a later time.
You know, there are people who don't choose to rush to 50, and SE does not obligate anyone to do so. If you want to sit on level 15 for 6 months, SE is still going to make the game enjoyable for you.
This event has given me nothing but grief due to server congestion. Even if I choose not to participate in the event I have to suffer from the lag spikes--which I found out the hard way while playing Garuda HM. Unless everything becomes more stable, I can't even continue my regular leveling.
Two hours a day?
Go to the major fate chain areas, at your level it should be Corethas, join a fate party. Spend the full two hours there, when not doing active fates, take your party to an area where there are a lot of monsters and kill them until a fate pops (Monsters must always be above your level). DO NOT WAIT IDLE AT THE AETHERITE LOCATIONS! You should always be trying to earn EXP during the times and going to FATEs as they pop.
If you are seriously not gaining at least one level per session, sometimes two or more, then you're doing something very wrong.
Lightning really would of been pretty cool in a Guildhest/Trial instance vs a FATE. Just sayin'
Wrong. I don't have a level 50 job and I have been playing since beta 3 so its not like I don't know the game mechanics. Its just that my pace is my pace. Not yours or anyone else's. I enjoy the game..alot. I have 3 level 30+ classes (with the associated job souls) and 3 others at 15+. I also have every crafting/gathering class to level 30+ except cooking (15+) and fishing (0 - no interest...yet:)) This is all on one character, not alts so I grind tons and not just a fate runner either, although I use that option when I feel like it. I COULD have a 50 if that was my goal but you stated everyone SHOULD. Two altogether different scenarios so I'll leave it at you meant could and not should. I pay so I play at my pace not yours.
Camate, will there be an NPC to exchange parcels for weapons in the other cities as more chapters are unlocked, for those players who can't get to Limsa Lominsa (due to the horrible idea of keeping the ferry out of service until you get an airship pass [lol nonsense]) who still would like to at least get their weapons? (of course that would need parcel drops in the Ul'dah/Gridania FATEs which I'm sure won't be missing)
He wanted to know how he could get it done, I told him the surefire way to do so. But if he still has storyline quests to do, that should be first priority, as well as all quests around his level range. That will give him the most bang for his buck if he teleports around.
He's got 11 levels to go, and a little under a month to hit 45 and do the last mission in it. Sometimes, you just stick your nose the the grind stone a while and get the rough stuff behind you.
Otherwise, he can level at his leisure, knowing he's got until Feburary to get to level 45. No real excuse there. I'm lucky if I get a full two hours a day an I hit my first fifty not long ago. (Though I'm one of those odd ones that don't mind doing FATES, so long as you do something in between them.)
The level of the items are irrelevant, they're all lvl 13 because it's for the release of Final Fantasy 13.
They clearly only want players that have put in the MINIMAL effort of getting to 45 to get the FULL rewards of this event. If you don't have a high enough level, well, then you can still get SOME. You just can't have it all though.
But if you still want it all, well then, I refer you to my previous statement. (Remember, these fates will be in-game until at least the end of this year.)
*shurg* Why should all event content and rewards be restricted to level 13?
We don't know if the equipment gear is all restricted to the quest alone. We don't have the full event in front of us. Maybe the Lightening outfit comes out near the end to be purchasable through the Otherwordly items. We simply do not know. IF it doesn't. I can agree that they should be.
I do not agree that the Lightning content be low level only because some people haven't leveled yet, that punishes high level players.
I already have a level 50. I have alts to keep me busy for the years to come. I have zero intention of wasting all of the potential entertainment of leveling alts in just a few months. I don't give a rat's ass why Squeenix made them level 13 items. It still makes no damn sense that a level 13 character cannot access level 13 items. This is not a raid boss. This is a freaking fate that can be completed with four people.
I never said the Lightning fates should be low level only; I'm talking only about the costume items.
The quests seem to be giving the costume rewards, if the first one is anything to go by (you get gloves for completing it) - not the fates. Doing high level fates in phase 4 of the event will give you those tokens you use to buy the weapons, so making level 13 items accessible to characters who are at least level 13 does not remove reward from high level fates.
If the high level fates dont award anything, then what reason does anyone have to level up or even do it at all? News flash, they WANT people leveling up, they do not intend to release a game, and then let everyone remain at low level (the only way to do this is by NOT playing, or logging in and standing in town) and then still get all the cool things they add.
So the feedback would be to make the costume items purchasable through the event NPC as well as the weapons? This might still be happening. If not, I'm with you in that debate, but we're not even one day in, really.
But let's take things the way you say it is, we make this a feedback for future events, and we do what we can on our end to help others get the rewards before the Febuary event ends. Complaining achieves nothing in the short term, so it's wasted breath unless they can change it for the Febuary version.
But figure it's either already planned to be implemented, or NOT planned to be implemented and likely not going to change, complaining before the event is OVER is grating and shows a lack of well... any qualities I typically hold in high regard, patience and tact being two of them.
The reward is the weapons, at least as far as we know from what we've seen so far. It might be the same reward as you get from lower level fates, but that doesn't mean there is no reward.
@Hyrist: Yes, a very good solution would be to put the costume items on the vendor for purchase with the tokens you get from the fates, just like the past two events.
...you don't understand, the weapons are ALREADY in the game, and you can get ALL of them, RIGHT NOW, with the lowest level fate. There are no mythical lvl 45+ weapons awarded at the higher level fates so I don't know why you think they are being awarded by the higher level fates.
Adversely, if that WAS the case, then this conversation would be the exact same, but people would be complaining why they have to level up to get the "better" versions of the weapons.
So please tell me, if you can get the entire costume at lvl 13, and all the weapons at lvl 13, then why would ANYONE run the lvl 45 fates?
As things are right now, it appears that the intention of this event (aside from the obvious promotion of FFXIII) is:
ALL players will get access to the weapons
To receive the FULL costume you must complete all the fates including the higher level ones.
If you ask me, they are being very generous to the "low levels".
Hairstyle! >.>
Honestly, I don't care about the level of the equipment so much. That should be a non-factor here. You can argue that they want you to do all the content in order to get all of the reward, and thats why the costume is tiered while the weapons are access-able.
Conversely, if you want to experience the full Lightning Story, you're going to be doing the tiered quests anyways, so why should trinkets be held aloft?
It's a hard decision to make, and not everyone is ever going to agree with the choices SE makes.
Alternatively, THIS time around, they can make the armor tiered. and NEXT Time (the February version) you could simply buy the costumes through the Event NPC. This would suit both sides of the debate as those looking for exclusive, high level rewards will have the time period access to the full set. Then those who can't catch up in that time will simply be able to spend the event currency for the rest of the outfit.
Agreed, but the point I'm trying to make is, that there is going to be some kind of reward that is gated to higher levels, regardless of what it is, it will always be there. There has to be some incentive there (other than the story, because let's face it, that by itself isn't going to pull that many people in)
They haven't released any information that would suggest they are. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...tning_Strikes/
The hairstyle is also already awarded by the lowest lvl fate. So currently you can get all the weapons, gloves, and hair at lvl 13.
They've said "These are the rewards: Weapons, Costume/Hair". If you want to hope and wish for hidden rewards, ok....
If you visit the link above, you can mouse over each reward, they are ALL lvl 13.
