I understand that. Sorry for not being clear. There are 4 chapters to rereleased on consecutive days front what I understood. That proves the point even further, although I am not 1))5 sure if they are going to add more "chapters" for the remaining days of the event.

I'm sure it is mandatory to hold your opinion. But I never got the memo. If you don't like it don't do it. Then nothing to complain about. Or simply don't insult people who are having fun.

Person accidentally saying November 8/9 insulting someone for what was also probably a typo. Lovely.

Anyway, problem with waiting until Dec. 8 is now you have nobody to complete the FATE with, particularly the higher level ones. The FATE system just doesn't work for events and yet SE is intent on using them. I actually enjoyed the Halloween event for what it's worth. Events don't have to be epic or particularly exciting but they should at least be fun and/or amusing.

In any case, I really liked this event. I just got my Blazefire Saber and the first piece of the armor, but even though I hated the amount of characters in one map, I really like how the players participated on it. There was a lot of guys running around in Limsa and the FATE's maps.

To be fair, "Sneak King" was a pretty damn good game for the price.

This Lightning event just sucks! From watching the video I thought they would have put in new fates for each of the 4 chapters. But so far chapter one isn't, its pretty lame.

So we are doing the same old fates with some special event green writing? I couldn't see Lightning. I can't believe that they would make it a fate like this after all the huge issues with Odin and Behemoth. I'm finding every single "event" so far boring, not much thought has gone into it and a waste of time, I just keep going back in the hopes that they made the next one better. Very let down again.

It's only the first of a four parter guys. It's going to have some other fresh fates later on if the screenshots were any indication.

The fact it's FATE based makes this event so original and unique.
Yes, let's make a FATE based event when the entire game already revolves around FATE leveling.

Looking at the summer event.
It was crazy with everyone spamming 3-5 days in. Last week it was a ghost town.

Yeah. My favorite part being the video which shows 5 people with Lightning and Odin, attacking various enemies and eventually that big... boss thing.

Even more than the fact that it's fates, I hate that the outfits are locked behind levels. ;.; I want to get them for my alts, but hells if I'm gonna level all five of them to 45 for this.

the only thing i have a problem with is it takes 2 seconds to complete this qst so i dont understand the 2 day delay between each qst, you literally gave me about 30 seconds of content that i WAS excited about, and its like......wtf

Yup mindless zerging and huge lag = not fun. Flaw system imo, never done a fate where I thought was fun. It was just tag and get credit.

I always thought WoW has the seasonal/promotional stuff figured out pretty well, as in they realize whatever they thought of is never as cool as they thought it'd be, so they always throw in some handy loot to cover for that. If you get some kind of token amount of philosophy stones for completing the quest, people are far more likely to put up with whatever dumb decision that went into the said quest. From what I can tell, the justiifcation 'you should do something because it's fun/cool' is almost never fun/cool enough to justify doing it.

Hm. Seems like it'd be best to just wait out the rush then go and do the FATEs well after everyone has had their fill.

Though, I think I'd rather there be an instance of the event content rather than lumping them into FATEs where the herd comes spamming AOEs and what-have-you. I think it's pretty much to that point every FATE. Unless we all come to the conclusion that we're all going to not spam AOEs.

Lol and SE makes it look so appealing when they do the videos, but we all know it'll be eighty times as hectic when the event starts. I'd like to actually do an instance, take the time to read the questline and get some lore to chew on before the event ends.

Not sure how much of a hassle making those events instanced are or whatever. Then they'd have to rebalance for one person or a party of sorts. Rather than throwing up a FATE and letting people go ham on it.

You would be disappointed only if you expected something more than this....and I don't know why you'd expect something more than this.

There's been no indication to raise your expectations any higher. This game is going to be about horizontal gear progression and raid content. Not any of the foo-foo fancy event quests.

I haven't even done the FATE, but a handful of posters here are either dumb or purposely ignoring the claims that SE could have found a better way to do this.

FATE events, seasonal or otherwise, are zerg fests requiring little or no coordination between all the participants. It makes what would otherwise be an epic world boss fight(Behemoth and Odin)just another boring face roll before moving on to the next and that's IF you can even see what you're trying to attack. Don't roll your eyes at people who chose to believe the hype and were disappointed. Most of us wouldn't even be here if we didn't have a little faith. The "we got Lightning, be grateful!" stance does not work.

Dear SE: Next time you do a event of this kind PLEASE do it as a Dungeon/Guildquest/Duty Finder thing and even way better if it was of groups of 4-8 or 24 O.O than a FATE. Thanks :)

When people from our FC/LS were like OH I M GOING TO DO THIS RIGHT UP DO YOU WANT TO COME?! I was like "Nah if you noticed it will get worse than when Odin/Behemoth appears and I m not dying to have it from day 1 anyways I couldn t care less about Snow/Lighting outfits (because I have 2 male/1female char) if it was a FANG OUTFIT I wouldn t care about lag and go STRAIGHT UP! but anyways GL with the "event" I might go for it the previous day it ends or a few days not on a prime time :D .

+1 to the idea of the Guildhest.

+2 to the idea of it being related to your FC or GC.

Bit of a joke when the star of the show can't even be seen.

Congratulations to any people that actually enjoyed this event or had friends that did. I have friends and family I got into FFXIV that are slowly logging in less and less and less and I got them hyped about this event as something fun to do to hopefully re spark their interest in the game, but every single person that I have informed about the quest has had the same annoyed and sad response. If they advertise these kind of events for months with big flashy banner on the front of Lodestone I would expect they would make it a event that is at least partially fun and involved and not just a Fate where you can't even see what is happening. It is just sad because I want to be able to talk about the game and hype friends about events without everyone being constantly let down.
