ITT: people who think the same devs work on every game being made, and not on seperate games

I'm sure it will either be a Dragon Quest or Star Ocean mmo. They say SE has invested heavily on this new mmorpg so it must be based on an existing franchise, why else would SE risk so much money on a new game if it doesn't already have a big fanbase.

Dragon quest: would make a lot of sense. It's more popular then then Final Fantasy series in Japan and it would be the next logical step for the series.

Star Ocean: FFXI, FFXIV and WAKFU are all MMORPGS from SE and all of them have a Fantasy/Medieval theme. To introduce a new mmorpg that will compete in pretty much the same market wouldn't be such a good idea IMO. Star Ocean's Futuristic themes would make a new mmorpg for a market that has not seen a great game yet.(DOn't like EVE)

That's what I am thinking. Also, I've never played a Dragon Quest or Star Ocean game before, but I'm sure I'd be interested in a Star Ocean MMORPG. ^^ Otherwise I await Phantasy Star Online 2. >.>

I have never played Star Ocean, but looking at its style, it looks like a fun MMO setting.

I would love a good futuristic MMO since most have failed and im not a fan of EVE either.

Could also be dungeon siege, but who knows maybe a new IP.

Star Ocean is a Tri-Ace game published by Square-Enix... I doubt it will be a Star Ocean game. (just saying)

FFXIV was announced a year after FFXI was released.

DEVELOPMENT is being announced, not RELEASE.

You will NOT see this new game for a minimum of 3-5 years.

could also be a new front mission? i doubt it'll be another fantasy/rpg tho, would be weird for them to be maintaining 3 mmos and them all be the same genre.

oh just to correct: XI isn't medieval, its actually high renaissance-late gothic (there is a major difference)

XIV is 90% medieval 10% fantasy. (hence the lack of flourished armor)

Hopefully it's a mmo based on motorcycle-riding gangs.

SE is a busness. Businesses exist to make money. SE makes money with new game titles. its just that simple.
