Again, good point.
Nope, NIS has quite a bit more than 3 people working there. Also, there's different teams but Linkshell system is programming as much as it is UI related, therefore the teams intertwine and thus require attention as well. When the main priority is getting out a core system fix you can be guaranteed that a lot of resources are directed toward the main goal, i.e battle system.
So as you say "sorry, no dice as usual."
It's funny that people say those who are "against" things seem to be "blind" to situations when it's usually the opposite end of the coin the most stubborn.
Hence why people were stumped at their decision to ignore XI's existence. Love it or hate it it got at least the basics right lol. Same linkshell system as well.
It should have been bug free since launch since all they had to do was build off of the basics their previous MMO laid out. The search system also has a very similar problem, so it's the module itself that handles this that's an issue, which is why they said it's something to be looked at after the main priority is taken care of. Stuff smaller than the search system (LS falls into this) issue are also said to be taken care of once they finish the battle system. So it's clear they're diverting a lot of attention to the core of the game gameplay wise.
just to add to this thread's attention. i'm signing this.
/signed.
remember to like the OP.
like everyone else i agree this needs to be fixed. Its amazing that the most basic features that were in FFXI are still not implemented 8 months into FFXIV's launch... the new battle system they are working on better be epic to postpone all of these smaller things for so long..
The post I added earlier today on a different thread relating to this topic (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ration-Options) still stands, and I will sign as many of these as is required until they actually pay attention.
"With companies and dungeon events being promised to us before the end of Summer, I don't understand how SE cannot even be looking at this already. If you are going to be putting events/dungeons into a game for Linkshells to participate in surely simple features for Linkshell management is a must?
Our social LS has had to reform twice already, and we will probably be on the way for a 3rd soon- too many members that have upped and left and not dropped their pearl- hell I don't have to explain it, everyone knows what the problems are! How can a LS be expected to participate in any vague form of "endgame" activities if we cannot even remotely boot members or put up LS messages?
Does the development team know how much organization is required to reform a Linkshell? Trying to catch players that are in different timezones, only play certain days of the week and then having to meet up with them in order to give a new pearl. All this because we cannot boot old members from the list that are inactive?? For a game designed for "casual" players, why do they think people have the time to do this due to incompetence in not putting basic features into the game?
The LS list itself is useless; showing the name of the person and a green blob to indicate if they are online is as much use as a chocolate teapot- why can we still not see where the person is in the world and what rank and class they are playing? o.O
Come on guys, sort this out ><"
Trust SE, Trust the members that haven't been online for a couple of month in your LS to return. Its all about Trust.
Wow, I actually found some arguments with keeping it the way it is in this thread.
I am incredibly surprised to say the least.
The gist of the argument against changing this really, even then, is when it should be changed not actually the change itself. I'll make sure to include that in part of my posts tomorrow on this subject. I've included this thread in the thread that I've made regarding this issue. I'll also address the arguments that speak out against the general nature of this thread in my post tomorrow. While they are interesting, this issue is very old and has actually been generally looked at in the very first "Letter from the Producer". The NA dev-tracker response does not suffice in contrast to looking at the "Letter from the Producer VIII" where Naoki Yoshida mentions the different teams that work on different aspects of the game.
That and more will be covered in my post tomorrow in the following thread:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nt-Recognition
As I go, I'll also be responding to the threads that cover this same issue so they too will be bumped to the front page for exposure. They won't be just one word responses or shameless bumps, but will address the topic at hand and include opinions from varied backgrounds.
please give them the option to manage users!!!!
Bump and will continue to do so till the day this changes.
Just to reiterate — we need this NOW! We're playing a community-based multi-player game; yet we do not have admin controls over our LS? It's ridiculous.
Just another topic on linkshells, as the devs have stated please post your opinions in the following topic and keep that one bumped...
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ration-Options
No sense having 50 topics on linkshells like we currently do.
Yep, its that time.
I included part of the OP in my post today in the following thread:
Linkshell Management Recognition
On Day #5 I discussed how this topic has degenerated from a suggestion; to a demand; to a plea; to a plea for recognition. I also touched on some features that were implemented that seemed off the radar and some controversial issues that have been given dev tag associations in lieu of a recognition of linkshell management tools.
Yes, I am being slightly obnoxious to get attention to this very obnoxious problem. Give us LS controls.
I find this pretty funny.
You can oust and promote members in a party list.
You can add and remove members from a friend list.
You can add and remove members from a blacklist.
You can oust and promote members in a linksh... wait a second...
Seriously SE, you reached 3/4 and just thought to yourselves "meh, fuck it, 75% is a pass"?
This is a piss-poor mentality for a community-based game. Forget fixing the battle system, fix your attitude.
EDIT: btw Vack I gave you the like, I know there are other threads, but personally I prefer to support local :P
Totalllllllllllllllllllly agree with you.
I still curious why SE ignore this simple thing for 9 months already!
Bump.
Fix it.
As above. I'm tired to writing about this every few months.
Square has already explained that they can't fix linkshell issues until they fix problems with the servers and data structure.
Nothing we can really do but wait till it's done.

What i don't get if there is invite and oust in a party setting why can't it easilly be done from and ls point of view? Like they had fwd thinking for that feature why go backwards on the very fiber this type of game was built on is beyond me. I am all for getting this fixed asap.
............... bump
I don't know how many more variations of "We know its an important issue and were doing our best to get it fixed" they can find. I would suspect the next iteration would involve sock puppets and funny voices.

Best I could do quickly.
lol ernie thats great
make it a text command /kick "Player Name"
thats all I hope for right now, of course there needs a TON more things to make the ls function on even a basic lvl but for now as an ls leader thats all I ask for >.>
HOW HARD CAN THIS BE!!!!!!!
This shit needs to get fixed. I'm tired of waking up and having 5-6 emails from xivpads that LS's have been retired. Every morning!! Had 27 in past week...
I agree 100% and i think the flack from some people is stupidity, if you think this issue is no big deal your not running a Linkshell worth any time, If you re pearl after re pearl just to find new friends and members to enjoy the game with, Then you think this issue is major, which it is. In the more Populated servers there is shells with member shitting 128 monthly due to inacts. Why should the whole shell pay for a few people not wanting to play? SO people who are haters get real stop siding with SE we need it, it needs to be done. There was some leeway but not any more.
It's bad enough they made us unable to play with more then 8 members at a time now shells are getting split in pieces for events, having no LS content or Admin or quests or ANYTHING to do with the LS system is a slap in the face is down right disrespectful to linkshell leader or linkshell who wants to progress with the members in his or her shell.
.............. bump
................bump
I think I might bump this every day or other day till it happens. I feel like Sisyphus....
...............bump
really i prefer WoW guild admin, you have more things to do that ffxi ls features
well in wow you have guild bank where the ls member could save items for hnm or for dungeon that crafter could uses it for create gear for ls member
have record, gil donation
really this system is better that just two things like message ls and kick people
