When it comes to subligar, I will wear outdated gear just so I won't have to wear those speedos.

Then there's the opposite group: the people that forget to roll, leaving you staring at a drop you need while you nag them to do so.
Yeah I hear you with the "creepy cultist" caster AK gear. The tank version on the other hand is my favorite lvl 50 set for tanks so far. Looks a heck of a lot better than the DL/DS trashcans, which are not only fulgy but ironically would be more useless in combat than the infamous "battle bikinis" in real life.
I wish AK and DL gear for tanks would switch places =/ the gear design for tanks is much better than DL. The trashcan is also the #1 reason why most career tanks opt for their Myth body first.
I'm not very far gear wise as df groups have little tolerance for poor inexperienced players like me. So I had a Darksteel armor made to help me in dungeons as I only have DL earings. And it is ugly, extremely ugly, but that's not the point. When I was in the service we had work uniforms (ie DL or DS), and a fancy dress uniform (AF). Wearing your dress uniform while working is insane.
I've been laughing at this thread for a while now and can't believe people hinder themselves for such a stupid reason. SE could of solved this if they would of put vanity slots in at launch like they should of had in the first place. So this is pretty much all SE fault.
/facepalm
The upgrades increase your stats relevant to healing, increasing the amount of which you heal for each spell. Thus requiring you to cast fewer spells and use less MP. So the net effect is better than simply giving you more MP. And furthermore, you have Shroud of Saints, which regens your MP.
There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't upgrade every piece of AF with AK/WP gear. "I don't like the look" is not an excuse. That's fine if you're playing solo, but when you're with a party, it's not just your time you're wasting, it's everyone's. And when they add the Vanity tab, then you can "wear" your AF all the time if you want.
DF will require a certain ilvl of gear equiped in order to queue soon - but that is not going to stop ppl from joining DF groups in gear that is not optimal - the only choices in playing with random ppl is to either deal with them or leave or if the majority agree to remove the player in question to kick them when that option is introduced as the devs have already stated it would be - not sure why a thread was needed when its quite clear there are only 3 options regardless of any complaints
I agree that you shouldn't expect people to carry you when you wear inappropriate gear just cause it "looks good". But if the gear is sufficient for the task at hand and the person knows what they're doing, why complain? AF in WP is perfectly fine.
ITT bads talking about other people also being awful.
AK gears are unforgivably ugly.
I skipped AK gear and went straight for DL, you can do ak in full AF1 you just have to know what to dodge and have a good team, jow I'm currently working on AF2 which I'm debateing on wheter to find a lesser armor to wear my AF2 crown or keep the Darklight armor til I can afford the body.
This is why we need vanity slot in 2.1
When I was dat noob I would wear my AF gear out in the world and switch to AK stuff in the dungeons.
Vanity wont fix the problem.
This thread basically boils down to...: "Play the game the way I want you to."
People will play the game how they want. You can't stop it. Some people don't play this game for the gear upgrades. I do, though. If it's better than what I have on I will equip it right away, but others may not. That's what you run into when you play a MMO. Player diversity.
If your dungeon raid fails because one member wears a lv45 piece instead of a lv50 one, it's time to seriously question your whole group's skills.
Honestly, I sometimes wish I could pay peoples' repair costs. Especially those players that stick through a dungeon to the end despite wipe after wipe. It's unfair that you can't trade with people in a dungeon, not like you can scam the system or anything.
People rolling on gear that is an upgrade and then refusing to use it is annoying. What's also annoying are the people who need roll on gear that is a downgrade simply "cuz I can lols", using need rolls as a 'free loot' button.
If you have a subligar available and you need to not wear something, only wear the subligar and nothing else so you can truly show it off in all its glory.
going off title... NO, it cost extra GIL,(or in the words of a friend) its costs to much jill... lol everyone should find their own funny talker.
