Background music in Coerthas

I'm holding out hope that other areas of the Coerthas region are still relatively unchanged climate-wise from the way they used to be. After all, The Howling Eye is in Coerthas, and the grass is still nice and green there.

Also, I like the music in the observatory.

Coerthas music was one of two background music that I actually enjoyed! The rest to me are pretty bland.

The music reminds me of Kefka from FFVI. I think his music was organ friendly as well.

This. I think they should also use that theme in H Manor.

I adore the music that plays out in the Coerthas wilderness.

I detest the organ music that plays in towns and the battle sequence. It gives me a headache.

I personally love the Coerthas music, it's some of my favorite in the game. If it's depressing, I'm not surprised -- Coerthas is a bit of a depressing area, so it fits the bill.

Thank you for posting that video. I have always wondered what Coerthas looked like before the calamity. I would guess Mor Dhona looked similar since the two areas are adjacent.

Mor Dhona got a lot more colourful and busy with people since the calamity @3@

Offtopic: I really hate Revnant's Toll being sort of a main HUB, but I would have hated Dragonhead as well :p Kinda miss people gathering in Ul'dah (1.0)

Historically speaking Coerthas used to be all lush and green. Since Meteor it has turned into a iced over wasteland. The "bad mood" is likely a feeling they intended to invoke due to the history the area has.

This, I like the music as well, though I'm hoping they'll use Holy Consort when and if we're allowed to enter Ishgarde

I like the theme, I just wish it played at 6pm-5:59am too, or some other BGM that is also fitting for the area, no BGM at all feels lazy.

I like Coerthas in general, I wish 2.1 opens up Griffin Crossing so Eastern Lowlands would be accessible, too.

i love the choir part of the music there. its one of my fav in game next to coil and garuda

The Observatorium music is a calming change from the rest of the place.

Coerthas is basically Depression: The Zone so the music matches.

seriously, pay attention to the side-quests, the best one I've found so far(happy ending wise) was a guy getting closure on his wife's death, which he still blames himself for.

Oh, and some people who were being left to slowly freeze to death being saved because you just happened to be prestigious enough of an adventurer to be hired to save their ass by bringing out rations they were being left out to die because none of the knights thought they were low enough to save people.

Its a zone of terrible people, leaving other(sometimes terrible) people to die.

I dunno about you guys, but walking through all of Coerthas, I REALLY think this zone is the spiritual reincarnation of Xarcabard/Castle Zvahl from FFXI. When you walk into Camp Dragonhead, the transition of music - in addition to the architecture of the place - REALLY came off as if I had just walked into Castle Zvahl if it underwent a San d'Orian occupation (San d'Oria being the town filled with Elvaan/Elezen back in the day).

To be brutally honest, I almost thought that the Shadow Lord was gonna creep into the game from some obscure corner of the map. Heck, maybe he'd even fit as an endboss for Dzemael Darkhold Hardmode. Or some similar BS - it'd really be cool to get a rehash of a villain that, to me, was kinda underrated (as well as being the one villain I never got to kill - thank you, you "rush to 75 and be our Sky HNM Loot Slave" derps from FFXI).

That's just my 2 gil on the matter though.

Its a great theme for the zone - however after hearing it for an hour or so I have to mute.

Coerthas theme is perfect.

I personally love the music in Coerthas, though I haven't caught myself humming along to hit... yet.

Yes, Mor Dhona was very gloomy in 1.0

Before the garlean battleship crashed in the lake in the 1.0 opening video it was a very green forest.

They have only their holy war against the dragons in their mind. Everything that has nothing to do with dragons is not worth their time.
One main reason why the Ixals can expand their territory in Coerthas.

I think the track is just too short. Right now it meanders from one idea to the next without any cohesion or focus. The ending and beginning don't go well together either.

I go on foot exclusively when in Coerthas, just so that I can listen to more of the awesome music.

One of my favourite tracks, along with Garuda and the huge-FATE/some story missions boss theme.

I'd be unhappy if they changed it. I didn't like the fact the in-game night it turns off.

Reminds me of Dead Island. Foreboding.

I heart it.

I think it's awesome. Very fitting.

I like the music in the field, but not the organ music in Dragonhead. Call me crazy, I just don't like it.

I spent the entire time there listening to a grinding playlist I put together on iTunes.

Sometimes I wish I could turn off battle music and just have the background area music playing. That one and leves gets annoying fast!

The music in this zone is the reason I turned off music while mounted.

Man Cohertas BGM is epic o.o

I like it so much I have it on my MP3.

I loved the music. It plays well with the medieval architecture and the storyline's darker turn of persecution. Also a wintery (RE: cold, harsh) environment would feel out of place with cheery music to go along with the ishgardians struggle against seemingly endless dragons.

What always cracks me up about some of these quests is how lazy the NPCs are. It's most prevalent in Coerthas, but one of the earliest examples is that guy at the camp just outside of Ul'dah who wants you to take something to the Lalafell at Silver Bazaar. And he's all "Ohh I just haven't had the time to journey there myself for months." And I'm thinking, "Dude, it takes you 90 seconds to run there."

The coerthas music seems bugged to me. It starts and stops at nonsensical moments in the music. It's just a random minute or two of organ blasting you in the face periodically. Don't like it.

Personally, I wish the Garleans would have obliterated Ishgard and their jackass knights in an aerial bombardment.
