Casual Gamer: 1-4hrs
-Logs in, plans the day, do the leve they have available, with ls friend or random shout groups, may leave leve groups earlier.
-Grind for an hr, mayb switch to different class because current one if boring.
-Maybe do some crafts leves after.
-May change plans if its more fun than what was planned, like camp NMs with friend. or just chat with ls members.
-Free going, less caring about outcomes of a fight.
Hardcore: 3-12hrs
-Logs in - mayb it was always logged in - plans the day.
-Do leve with static members or people that they know is good and trustable, if no one of the static is on, shout for group but asks/tells for detailed information on the leve that they have planned to do, like specific leves only etc, if the shout members arn't worthy, they will shout or wait untill the perfect group members is online or available.
-Grind on mobs for hrs 2-4hrs after leve, probably with people they know, so they dont have to deal with new members who might not be experienced, constant dieing or unable to understand group formation, wants to grind untill the specific class is fatigues far beyond fatigue level 3, and wants all the skills from the jobs, even go to MRD 48 to get defender II for their GLD.
-Grind on crafts for hours, get the matts, and or see if its better to farm matts or buy from market wards, ofcourse this after finishing up local craft leves.
-Trying to collect gears so they can solo NMs like Dodore or other "hard to solo NMs", mayb will run to the NM location instead of porting, so you can test your solo skills on the Inferno Drakes on the way.
-Dedicated, commited, and strict.
^^
This is how I play the game:
-Leves
-Behest
-Explore
-Sell Crystals
-Do main quest stuff when I have time
That's it.....lol
Blowing a gas cap over death does make ppl sound pathetic...... I seen the worst of it trust me. And. You not really suppose to care about death, but what you learn from it.
Just keep swimming :P (sorry 1 year old in the house)
I could care less about if I die or not, I just try again and learn what I did wrong and just not do it again.
Syn
you didn't describe casual and hard core...
More like a good gamer and an elitist. Sorry but decication and strict does not make a person hardcore. Just zealots. :)
just seems to me the hardcore players just rush to the end then stand there waiting for something new. :( i use to be hardcore in ffxi, ran my own 60 member HNMLS did all the god runs set up times and dates was like a 2nd job lol. now i just play ffxiv just a few hours a day, looking back on ffxi i pretty much did all those things with no reward other than personal achievement. :/ but to everyone just play the game how you like as long as it's enjoyable.
If you refer to the casual i mentioned as Good gamer and Hardcore as Elitist, im sorry you expectation of a challenge is set too low. Elitist(personal glory) and Hardcore(more goal oriented) Gamers are different. And yes being dedicated and strict does and is a part of being hardcore, without it, you are just... casual. i been both casual and hardcore, now im semi hardcore but still more toward hardcore, in order for me to go from casual to hardcore, i have to dedicate myself to do something, for example solo sundrakes outside Uldah by strictly utilizing my skills, if i didnt i wouldn't be able to go 1/23.
*i tried to get the kill on fraps but it was trial version and only caught first 2:30 mins, and used 8.5GBs lol*
I think it will take me months to reach lvl 40. I'm lvl 32 conjurer and I am really taking my time.
By casual what the hell you do mean?
D: USELESS LABELS ARE USELESS.
So is this post :) and my comment.
an MMO can't be completely 'Casual' (whatever that means) because it takes a chunk out of your potential player base.
A game that is 'Hardcore' can be played by basically anyone =D It would be slower for 'Casual' players to progress..
But this 'Casual'/'Hardcore' crap is getting so annoying :|
I generally feel pretty guilty if I play a game for more than 2-3 hours in a day/sitting, so I guess I'm doomed to be casual.
