Yes somtimes it had content updates 2 month apart. But those were occasions and not the norm. More often than not stuff is/was around 5month after the last.

Although Blizzard releases their expansion with a lot of things to do, that will at least keep us occupied for more than 3 weeks. And even Molten Core, their very first raid back in 2004, had way more bosses than Coils. So there's no way a re-released game would have only 4 bosses for 6 months.

Your words were "EVERY OTHER MMO". But I can go on. Star Wars old Repuplic, Tera, FFXI, Eve online, Everquest II, Age of Conan etc.

We can talk about this when this game had its first expansion. FFXI first expansion(The NA launch) was massive too! Please don't forget that molten core was nowhere near playable 2 month after launch.

1 in October
1 in November
1 in December

From the current forecast, i would ball park 2.1 end of November or at the latest, December with in the first week. 2.1 may be in debug, but i would say it is needed sooner rather than later, esp looking at the speed of progression. There is simply too much that needs to be fixed, and even though 2.1 may not be a direct fix, it can at least curve things so they no longer appear broken.

Sure, but WoW was a brand new game. ARR is a re-release. Sure, they changed a lot of things, but the game frame is basically the same. I'm not raging or blaming them for what they've done. It's a significant improvement over 1.0 . You know, if they had released Crystal Tower when it was meant to be released at first, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But they decided to retro-release new content (what I mean by that is releasing a new content tier lower than what is currently being cleared... CT is supposed to give iLvl gear lower than Coils... so what will be the point in doing CT, if you already clear Coils ?)

This game is running on a new engine so you can expect the source code not be the same either. Which is kinda like having a new game. Sure they could transport assets from the old version which is a huge timesave not having to remodel everything. But otherwise the relaunch would have taken 3+ years.

In the end sure I agree CT should have been available from the start. The more content available the better but in game developement stuff happens not everything goes as planned. Personally I see CT as a possibility to equip your other jobs. Is this ideal? No but hey better than nothing.

You have the option of leveling up multiple classes, gearing them out, running coil which has yet to be beaten by anyone in the world (granted it is bugged atm), helping your friends, crafting, building your wealth and mastering multiple jobs (after leveling and gearing them). You're right, we can run AK, CM, WP and Praetorium... oh and coil too, for about 1 hour per week! Yea, that's totally gonna keep us busy and interested until December :rolleyes:

OMG someone gets it!!!!!

The only way I even see this game lasting the test of time and not failing like most other MMOs other people keep talking about is for SE to say
"Hey guys CT was to hard for launch and we wanted to lower the difficulty and give it to you in 2.1 but it turns out most of the player base is simply to hardcore and has pretty much beaten CoB (turn 5 unbeatable but that's another post) So our new plan is to launch 2.1 in late Dec. with CT being harder than CoB and we rescaled the gear to be better than CoB/Relic gear and that way you guys will have something to keep you busy while we work on 2.2 update hope you enjoy."

That's what I want to see done. Many of you sit here thinking "No CT was already suppose to be released" yes that is true but there is no point in adding it with a lower difficulty and lower gear ilvl80 even if 2.1 comes out in Nov. it will not be enough content to keep the masses occupied until 2.2 which would probably be 3-6 months after
2.1.

I just don't see anything in 2.1 update keeping anyone happy for more than a month and that's pushing it.

This is all CT will end up being a way for us to gear up other jobs. Wont be the best gear you can obtain but you will have to roll against other people which will make CT tons of fun (6 whms pop up for CT 1 whm piece drop hell goes for any job I can just imagine how this is going to turn out.)

Waiting until the very last possible moment, or delaying stuff isn't exactly new when it comes SE. I would be more suprised if they managed to actually stick to the plan.
