Info on the Lodestone!

reposting I put this in another thread by mistake :P

Think the entrance to the harder duengons are going to be a skull with the "lightning" around it as a "barrier" looks strangly familar... /vomit (I know its underdevelopment)

Since im qqing at the look here is an idea...
Why not use a moogle for the instance intrance your in the right regon they wander around doing moogle biz in the woods yelling at you for angering ferngully. "Its dangerous to go in there kupo. We are blocking the kupo way in kupo. The forest tells me you have been chosen to free us from this doom kupo." (moogle uses magic to put your party in the instance).

What about the conjurer npcs who warn you of the "hell" that lies beyond and that the empire being in there sifting through the doom is someway related to the end of the world.... you go in vader shows up you get a cool fight where you cut off his mask it looks like the take on me video with color.. you know the rest (lol couldent resist).

In the other hand, i presume they are putting some of these things in lodestone instead of game, only because they a have no time to programm them in it. Well, i could think when the things wil go smooth/normal maybe we'll see these things directly in game.

Quite frankly, I would rather, grind / gather / camp an NM / do job quests or storyline .... basically anything I find fun in game rather than waste time running all over the place for a piece of lore (again, I'm just being brutally honest - not confrontational).

I don't think you're being confrontational, and you are entitled to your opinion. ^-^ I basically do a lot of what you do, but some days I like to take on a few on the side-quests just to learn a little something about the world. They're not major or really all that important, you're right. However, they can help immersion a little and introduce new players to new ideas and information. Or just give an older player a little something different to do that day while waiting for leves to start or something. =p

It still can and is entertaining to some. At least I can say I enjoyed my time doing them and I knew what to expect from them, so it's not like I was disappointed.

wow so many people bitching about lore? last time i checked the RP in RPG didnt stand for "riding pigs" you know...
i really feel sorry for any developer that spent his time working on all the well written lore for this game

The RP doesn't stand for Lore either.

RPing to me means actually doing something, not reading about other people doing something. But whatever.

People most of the time have really great ideas, but then along with those ideas are rage that awww SE wont consider them, when really bits and pieces of your idea is getting incorporated into the main thing (maybe its barely noticeable). Point here is, Your Ideas aren't getting put to waist, and that people cry when something huge is coming and nothing satisfies some of the community's taste buds =(

A lot of this kind of Info doesn't need to be in-game and you know it. Also I hope it's LS based content because I like playing with people. That's why I play an MMORPG.

I didn't say lore was irrelevant, Im just saying that the presentation of the lore, when presented on a website, is contextually inappropriate. This is a video-game first and foremost, so it stands to reason that the game exist primarily on its own merits. Which is to say that it ought to exist without support from a third party source (official website, for example).

I acknowledge that it is SE's style to be elaborate and verbose on their websites, but perhaps in the future they should save that for the game world and take a more clinical approach for the website.

We spend our whole time trying to see behind the literary facade they spin for us to see what the actual 'content' is that eventually the artistic flare that might otherwise be appreciated just becomes an additional hassle.

People wanted an official site and forums for transparency, not to be lead around yet again.

Would you really read all that text in-game? I'm sure that almost everyone complaining these pages should be in-game, wouldn't bother to read it there.

Yes, it would be nice a newpaper guy shouting "EXTRA EXTRA" in Uldah, but I think there's more pressing matters at the moment.

Anyway I'm very excited about this ranked missions, and what it seems to be a reputation system for doing them.

this is MMORPG, everyone logged in to fight together

who care about NPC's story stuff? everyone can create their own adventure with real players

a lot of ppl who enjoy the game at this moment is...
- crafter nerds
- pointless world explorers
- people who doing story quests alone
- people who don't really want to level up their characters
- RP

However, an RPG is filled with storyline and lore. An MMORPG tend to have storyline and lore on their website as well. Ironically most people don't care for the stories in-game and I've played MMOs since the 90s that I'm well aware of how people will spam through convos/not listen/ignore text boxes and just want the loot. So it is indeed a video-game, but it's also an MMORPG that are a different type of game.

Most offline games don't utilize their website beyond a flash game or basic information. MMORPGs utilize their website for much, much more.

Just because you don't like something (at least I think you don't ? I really can't tell from your horrific english), doesn't mean you can talk for the whole community.
