My thoughts on dungeon cut scenes:
I don't care if people watch them, nor do I care if it takes someone 30sec to load or close one or whatever.
However, I would like a "skip all" for myself because I don't feel like doing it manually every time. ♥

You're still skipping the cutscenes, thus it is a speedrun. You are still blasting through the trash mobs at a very high rate, thus it is a speedrun. If people cannot wait an extra 15-30 seconds then the issue lies with them, not the game.
A separate DF listing for these instances without the cutscenes loaded in could potentially negate a lot of these speedrun elitism, but that comes with its own problems.
I really hate the loadings for cutscenes of dungeons I've already went (and won, because I might not clear it on the first time).
And I really hate airship loadings..
Purchase ticket > loading > Enter in area > enter airship > loading > cutscene > loading > cutscene arriving > loading > enter in area - exit area > loading > arrived destination.
I really prefer to pay 500 gil for teleport than paying 200 for airship and taking hours to arrive at destination bc of loadings.
I agree, I've had to shout that I'm looking for CM runs (while everyone is running Prae) and it's kinda awkward. But, it's even more awkward when someone invites you to Prae instead and you have to tell them that you can't run it because you're a PS3 user. ._.
+1
A auto-skip option sounds amazing.
PS: Those shouts are seriously ridiculously funny. "PC ONLY KAYTHXBAI".
Please SE, add this function...
The cutscenes shouldn't even play if you have seen/skipped them before. They are lame anyways.
I think level the playing field and make it so you can't skip if one person is on there 1st time threw. Other wise auto skip.
Yeah after 5 CM runs I was getting tired of them. After 50+ I'm down right annoyed with them.
+1 for letting us choose to disable them on dungeons we've already been through.
Yep, agree entirely. Skipping cut scenes on completed dungeons should be a no-brainer.
Kind of sloppy of the devs to not have this feature in already.
I hope this gets hotfixed before 2.1 (as unlikely as that may be..)
I'm a PC player, I'd still like auto skip, it'd be a nice convenience not having to hit that button twice every time.
This would be great to have. As a PS3 player, even if I skip each cutscene as soon as I possibly can, I'm usually the last person left to proceed. If there is a member or two near me when I skip, it's usually a safe bet that they are PS3 players as well. Now, I haven't encountered any parties that would turn me down because of this, but it is quite annoying since I feel like I'm a burden when I'm usually the last to follow.
1) Yes it is ostricizing the playerbase, one group can truly speedrun and the other cant. That is a problem right there regardless of how harsh players are. PC players get priority in speedruns. Simple as that.
No, Necrosis is right. I have absolutely zero issue doing speedruns on my PS3. Cutscenes take five seconds at most to load in, get skipped and
load out. Anyone who is cutting out PS3 players are just douches. SE has no fault in this, he'll the game is designed to function on the PS3, and before my sub dropped, there is literally no content that isn't playable and beatable on the PS3 with ~GASP~ a controller?!!?! Crazy, I know right ^_^
But yeah after clearing the main story the first time, you should be able to turn off cut scenes, because that whole inanity of "Skip the cutscenes, you can watch them in the Inn is a steaming pile of horseshit"
Nothing wrong with controllers, I have yet to encounter anything in the game that couldn't be completed positively on a PS3 with a controller.
Oh yeah your speedrun is really in danger for those 60 seconds you take longer per dungeon lol.
Which makes the people doing the excluding complete and utter failures at human beings, and all around douchebag elitests for choosing the least important thing to exclude someone from a run for, but wait this is the same endgame where all the toxic layers continue to encourage the other toxic players and the new to endgame players to become toxic players by being continuously rude, beligerent, intolerant, and abusive to anyone who doesn't speed-farm x dungeon exactly like they do. Discussion over.
Ok, so why can't you run Prae? I'm a PS3 user and I did Prae regularly with no problem and hell, I probably even got out of the cutscenes Faster than at least three or four other party members except for when first timers entered Prae. I just think you need to find people a little less picky about who to run those instances with.
Ummmm, no they aren't. Not unless you live in the middle of BFE on dial up Internet. My PS3 has yet to give long load times, but I'm also patient enough to tolerate load times since it is just a game. And my PS3 is nearing four years old, maybe the problem isn't with the PS3s entirely since the game was designed with The ps3 customer base in mind.
Well just know that on Ultros, it is extremely difficult to find a speedrun group willing to accept PS3 users unless you start the group yourself. And when you announce "PS3 players welcome", it gets even more fun because the amount of PC people who will willingly join drops to about zero.
I've never seen anyone say anything about PS3 players ever whether someone slow loads or not. I think we should be able to have a no cutscene option but this whole "PS3 players are being victimized" seems false.
Bump it up!!!
There should be an option prior for signing up for the run to avoid team with players who insist on watching every cutscene. Some do it just to troll.
After checking on this concern with the event planner, the team confirmed they're looking into an option to suspend the display of cutscenes for events like taking an airship.
Likewise the development team is also looking into the possibility of this option for dungeon cutscenes.
We don't have a specific date when this will be implemented but we'll update you when more information is available.
Umm I have another side to this....can you make it so that until everyone is done watching a cut scene, no one can run ahead? Also can the timer not count towards your dungeon time if someone is in a cut scene? I think this has been brought up thousands of times and I'm surprised that you have not taken this into consideration. It would probably solve half of the grief that happens in late story dungeons for those who are still doing their story vs those doing speed runs.
Make it so that if someone is 'NEW' to a run...everyone must watch CS's and make the CS's unskipable. However, in the good nature of 'thank you for helping a brother out', give a nice bonus reward to the party upon completion for a new player. (EXP bonuses are NOT a nice reward in level 50 dungeons...make it gil/tomes etc).
However, if everyone in the party has cleared said content, make it so CS's are auto-skipable.
This should solve 90% of player griefing.
So.. what happens to playres that DO WANT to watch Cutscenes? ]Are you going to FORCE them to skip it?
Just to reiterate: I was in a Praetorium run last night. I counted how long it took me to go from the start of the black loading screen to having control of my character for the cutscene before the first boss. 30 seconds. The cutscene after the fight? When you need to go on the lift that everyone immediately descends despite three or four people stuck in CS? Another 30 seconds. Every cutscene in that dungeon was between 10 and 30 seconds.
I do enjoy the cutscenes and the story. I watched them my first run through, and every once in a while I go with people on a story run of CM and Prae just to experience it again. I think Prae is one of the most fun experiences I've had in a video game. But most of the time, I'm not interested. It's obvious that CM and Prae are meant to be spammed when they had been given the most amount of philosophy tomes up until yesterday (and are tied for first place.) I shouldn't be forced to have a cutscene load that I've already seen multiple times just to cancel it.
My hope is that a developer will read this and it will convince them that having an auto opt-out is a very important quality of life fix for PS3 players.
