Yeah, I'd be surprised if most BLMs weren't doing this already. Maybe even:
At 40-60% MP, Raging Strikes > Fire (Firestarter Fire 3) til ~300MP > Quelling Strikes > Swiftcast > Flare

(Yes, it does apply to magic damage)

I love it when the planets align and my thunder and fire procs are up as well as swift cast. Insta-tank.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Flare. You must be using it wrong. Flare does, to each add I cast on, 1060 damage. Crits for 1.5, 2K if pure luck takes over. Fire III To gain Astral Fire III--->Raging Strikes (20% damage Increase)---> Swift Cast----> Flare----> Immediately Ctrl+3 for me to initiate Transpose---> no wait time to gain mana----> blizzard 1 to get Umbral 2----> rinse and repeat. Nothing wrong with flare at all. This class is by far the easiest to grasp and understand, and if you cant use Flare right, you may want to consider changing classes.

I always thought that way would create too much aggro for the tank to handle..considering DF has been giving tanks that troll. Come in, aggro everything, and die and leave. Now I'm gonna have to try this on Ifrit HM and see what I can do. Thank you for posting your method! I believe that the BLM or WHM should have had the haste ability honestly. I've never used Surecast ever. We could get rid of that lol and trade for haste. I know its in the game. Some mobs cast them. I miss it :(
