AK on Wall and Last boss I pull 220-240 dps, Titan I pull 200-220 dps, Garuda I pull 180-200 dps.
I have my relic weapon and have the gear required for Coil minus my DL chest a ring and my neck. I think My opinion weighs in by your thoughts. BLM are fine, you must be missing something.
BLM are fine.
I typically have to hold back my DD to prevent pulling aggro off relic tanks. The only class that I have seen out-parse me is a no song bard with relic. As soon as ballad or TP songs go up, I pull ahead. If you min/max your positioning or movements, even high mobile fights like Demon Wall or Titan blackmage is hardly effected.
So I'm not sure why this topic even exists.
If you feel Black Mage DPS sucks, then you don't know much about the other Classes in FFXIV, add "Raging Strikes" lvl 4 Archer skillto your Black Mage.
it will increase all Damage you do by 20% for 20 secs.
and please learn about all the other classes,
Since you never know what skills they have, that you can barrow to help improve your Class / Job.
Hello everybody, this topic kinda interest me because I have a Black Mage lvl 50.
Gear : Relic Weapon, Everything DL cept for bracelet and 1 ring that are Allagan.
I have one of the best geared Black mages in Siren and my spell rotation is done perfectly everytime. I do feel like Black Mages doesn't output enough damage and the Main reason is that we have to Move so much that we got to interupt easily 1/3 of our spells in end game fights.
In a static fight I feel that the BLM does deal quite good damage, it could be a bit higher but I don't mind it.
A way that could help solving the problem would be to reduce SwiftCast cool down to lets say 15 seconds? (A trait only for blackmages of course) Or Maybe have a proc trait that everytime we hit a critical hit next fire spell is instant.
For those purposes I am switching to summoner as we speak.
But Yeah I agree, BLM needs some sort of re-work to let them have more instant spells so they can also deal damage while moving.
I have to agree that BLM feels very low in damage. During the fire rotation the damage feels right, but as soon as I cast anything other than a Fire spell every other class is pulling way ahead and over taking any progress I made in my Astral mode. And God forbid Boss mechanics force me to drop Astral/Umbral buff and I have to cold cast a long spell to get it back.
I feel it when adds spawn and non-BLM seem to take theirs down just as fast if not faster. And thats when I can STAND STILL.
Only beef I have with BLM is that Flare sucks. Either make it higher dmg, or cost less MP. I really don't understand why the amount of MP I have doesn't effect Flares dmg. If I blow 3000MP on a flare, I would think it would do considerably more dmg but it does the same as when I have 300MP
Black Mage just needs slight utility tweaks.
A) Give us access to Arcanist Raise. Every mage gets access to swiftcast, so it isn't like we'd be breaking the game by getting the nearly-best use of the cooldown.
B)Apocatastasis is utter garbage. It needs to change to one of the following
-A flat elemental damage reduction player-centered Raid Buff to justify the cooldown.
-Be given a mana cost, cast time, and cooldown removal to be a single target magical damage shield. Black Mages have some issues with heavy mobility fights, and having a way to survive one hit when doing a Raging Strike burn session would be amazing.
C) Conversion really doesn't need to be a three minute cooldown.
D) Let Firestarter and Thundercloud stack up to 2 times. Because waiting to see if it procs between spell casts loses far more DPS time if you hit a dry streak than chain casting and double proccing. Easy solution; Let us stack to two charges.
