What? XD Did you just read the name black mage and made that assumption? Or does BLM get some damage dealing spells that i am not aware of? The only thing making BLM do more damage than THM is the extra Int it gives inherently and from gear.

Well with Arcanist, you have Summoner (damage) and Scholar (support) as Jobs. For Thaumaturge I would think it more likely to see Black Mage (damage) and Time Mage (support). Remember that any new job that stems from THM can't use a different weapon than THM due to the Armoury system.

I think I'd like the Thaum to turn into a tank somehow as the second job since Arcanist does support/dps thaum can go tank/dps

Magicked armor and crazyness. Have Gladiator as the req sub-class (the shield connection) or arcanist ormaruader as the second one

As I said before if you examine lore of this game most likely dark knight will require thaumaturge at 15 along with a physical class. I think marauder considering yoshi's comment about what weapon he would see them using.

I would actually like to see THM gaining a Necromancer job, there is a nice piece of lore if you speak with professor Erik, form the MNK quests, about Sil'dih, an old city, which used dark arts to raise the dead as soldiers against Ul'dah before it all went terribly wrong.
Those zombie mobs and ruins we can find around Ul'dah are from Sil'dih.

Necromancers are often enemies in FF games however they are playable in the FFV ports so they really aren't something out of place, plus they alreayd have nice lore backing them up in XIV.

How would they work? No idea, maybe something about less burst damage compared to BLM but with temporary undead pets?

Well we can't really have a necromancer since summoner plays like a necromancer/warlock.

Yeah, it would need an entire new playstyle but i guess that's up to SE to surprise us.

I have an idea how about a voidsent pet class? I mean black magic and thamaturgy is connected to the void + its dark arts we could have a burst pet class. The pet could be a piece of essence of diabolos since most likely he will be a voidsent instead of a primal. Since in other final fantasies he is a demon or the devil. Lets not forget where do all the demons live in this game? The void. Plus in 1.0 people in the lore forum said that black mage/thamaturge had some enfeeble/dark magic one example is called scourge.

Diabolos can be a debuff/dps pet debuffing the enemy so they take more damage from your elemental attacks or something I dunno its just an idea.
