Has anyone killed HM Titan using DF?

I am sure you can have a second tank on stun duty on titan as well, though not 100% on it since I tried DF for Garuda, well long story short we beat her after being prisistant had only about 5mins left on timer when we finished, so you can expect how that went the problem I had with Garuda was that sisters both ganked me after they spawned even when war (our second tank) and all the DD tried to take them off me, I would go down in 2/3 hits from them.

so yea try and see if you can get the second tank to stun some of those knockback atks I am sure they are gonna help the mages/DD out alot if you can.

then again, i see people doing the same thing for titan as they did for version 1 ifrit in the early days - bring 3 healers and just brute force the fight instead of avoiding attacks properly

except in titan's case i'd think it'd make breaing the heart a little more difficult, unless you're just relying on that LB to finish it off?

my point was the second tank thats required thru the DF has a use in the ifrit fight, in the titan fight they are pretty much useless, they are really only good for helping to break the stones people get trapped in, and hopefully getting trapped in one themselves so it saves someone else from getting trapped

Maybe some have lucked out. I just doubt it. It requires long times of concentration as people aren't geared, and you just don't come across that in pugs

Edit: PS totally doable with 2 tanks. We've actually downed him with 2 warriors and a paladin, both "offtanks" basically went full DPS.

I think 2 tanks is fine but you definitely want one to be a warrior for it to be easier, as 2PLD is like hard hard mode. 2 Scholars on the other hand is like nightmare mode. It'll be easy, then last phase stomps, ugh. Have to rotate fairies cooldowns efficiently between the 2, have everyone pre shielded with Succor and hope for the best. Worst part is having to move right after because of the wraths before you're doing healing up everyone.

As for pub, you basically need at the very most one guy who's bad, and he needs to be a DPS, and he needs to only die after the heart is dead. Potentially after heart more DPS can die and you can still make it but it seems the longer the fight goes, the more stomps he does during tumult which puts incredible pressure on the healers and since you only have 2, it gets really hard. If any of your healers can't reliably dodge stuff then you're not killing it.

In my opinion Titan is to bad tuned for Dutyfinder.. or should atleast allow u as pug, to decide how to "join" the fight, f.e. 3 Healer or 5 dps instead of the 2nd Tank.

We que with 1 tank and 4 dps, and always get bad luck and or/a 2nd Paladin, which is just useless on the fight and 1 out of the 2 healers is a **** which can´t even move out the aoes... so we die right after the heart dies to the 7stomps.. pretty sad 2 days atm..

I guess we are just unlucky too with the healer or the lags some ppl from the EU get on the canadian EU servers aswell :(

So in my opinion, sure u can do him on a pug, but u neeeed to get really lucky for decent healers or 2nd Tanks (warrior if u are a pld, or pld if u are a warrior)
Last time i qued we got healer with AF (lvl45) gear... which is just sad, that the itemlevel req. comes with 2.1 and is not implemented yet.

if the second tank is a paladin, if duty finder gave you 1 of each of the 8 jobs for each fight that'd be another story, but i've seen plenty of duty finder ifrits with double warrior, or a paladin in full darklight and a warrior in af/level 20 jewelry

it's definitely worse on titan don't get me wrong, but that's because the dps check for titan happens earlier in the fight and isn't just cheesed by a level 3 LB

honestly ifrit could probably be beaten by a light party the way he is now, or rather, a light party with a 3rd limit break bar and a mage

titan on the other hand has that soft enrage, adding an extra hit each time he tumults

Titan has a lot of personal responsibility not to die, from ripples, line aoe, bomb rocks. There are so many unskilled players who don't have good raid awareness and get hit by those things. Most DF groups have people die to those mechanics before the heart even comes out 1 dead DPS is pretty much a wipe. A lot of the problem lies from a lot of people only played old school rpgs, and aren't use to playing an action type game which requires fast reflexes and split second decision making. If you never played an action game or FPS for example you will be bad at stuff that requires twitch reflexes.

Also an issue on that fight where a 2nd tank is useless, another dps or healer would be much better. Besides nerfing the fight there isn't much they can do to make this more DF friendly.
