Jynx, I just checked your character page, you have yet to obtain the magitek mount, you may want to re-read the now blue part of my first post.
Amine, try pinging a server on the other side of the world, I just did, it returned 400ms. That was to a server in a city, which typically has very good coverage. Now imagine someone doing the same to the SE servers who is in a rural or some suburban areas - relatively outside good coverage, their signal has to be forwarded many times. Now add XIVs internal server calculations, and the fact that it is known to send data every 300ms (this alone bumps it up to 700ms, which is more than your supposedly impossible 600ms delay). The important part is, since it's based on your location, it isn't changeable.
SE wanted a game where people can play on international servers, they decided not to host EU servers in Europe, they set this requirement, not the players.
Honestly arguing over the existence of this issue is a rather moot point, because as you will see from my second link, the issue has already been moved to the accepted forums, so they believe it does, and that is all that matters.

I get insane lag on east coast when dodging stuff, my friends from AUS and new zealand basically die outside of circles with their body literally 30 yards away 24/7.
Why would you put servers for EU and USWEST in CANADA? Literally the worst place imaginable.
-
I live in Italy and haven't really noticed any sort of difference between me connecting to either set of servers or any real disadvantage.
-
Since i don't notice any lag, you shouldn't too.

So far I've had reasonable amount of time to get away from red circles. It's much better than it ever was in 1.0. It happens that I lag out but I think it's more of a problem with my ISP. The weird thing is watching others not getting away from circles in time on my screen but still manage to avoid getting hurt.

The lag we're talking about isn't always "noticeable", or "obvious" lag. It's unnecessary lag that's just enough to get you killed in a tough encounter (and I presume hard mode dungeons/raids) I take it not many of you have played other fast paced MMOs (speaking to the people saying "I haven't noticed it, therefor it doesn't exist") - Wait until you get to end-game, then tell me it doesn't exist. An extra 100-200ms on top of the 300ms position reports is enough to get you killed at 5% on a raid boss.
The fact that SE don't have a DC to serve the EU players is nothing more than cost cutting (and apparently unnecessary cost-cutting to boot with the current popularity of the game). Find me any other modern global MMO that doesn't have a set of EU servers to reduce the latency for EU players.
Not sure how the rest of you can defend this, trolly SE whiteknights.

Lag, animation issues etc. has now been moved to accepted bugs. Hopefully we can expect EU servers in near future.
