FFXIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working.

I just tried creating a character on another server (Lamia). It's working just fine now.
It's possible that something corrupted your character data somehow.

Have you tried running it as admin? Not sure if that would help, just tossing it out there trying to help....

Oh god. ._. I really hope that's not the case. I wonder how long it will be before they start to notice this is even going on.

So you logged out in your Inn room as well? So it probably has something to do with that, as I did the same thing.

So, I think I might have fixed the problem (me and op are friends). It seemed to have allowed her to log in again, so I figured I'd share it on here for whoever is having problems.

Problem:
After selecting a character on the Character Select screen, the game will crash.

Solution: (note: I'm not sure which one of these was the fix, since we did both steps at once)
- Go into My Documents/My Games/.
- Delete any Final Fantasy XIV Beta folders.
- Go into My Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn.
- Delete all saved character data (this includes all FFXIV_CHARA_XX.dat files as well as the character folders FFXIV_CHR0040017A4D885C).

After that, try launching the game and hopefully it works.

You're welcome. I'm glad the solution helped out. Mind sharing which of the solutions helped you? Did you have old Beta character data or did you just wipe the release's character data?

Adastraa, I tried looking for the said files, but I can't find them. Although it seems to happen to me for every character even with the new ones. I'll try to re0-install the game if there is no other solution/ (Note: all my phase 4 characters were available the since launch day)

Are people getting the same error as this one?

I don't think re-installing is the solution here since the uninstaller does not seem to remove the "My Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn" folder. As above person said, try searching for the folder, it simply must be there somewhere.

After P4 I actually removed it myself just to start with a clean slate.
