So, you want to grind in a party for exp, but grinding in a party for exp on FATE mobs isn't good enough?
I don't understand this community one bit.

What about dungeon grinds? Its not like you can go in there solo.
How didn't I explain it Kiri? Targeting a fresh mob and not being able to get into melee range of it before it dies is really... not fun.
If I see a fate with a couple people, I like to participate, until the steamroller come though.
I'm going to agree with OP on this one. It was one of the things I loved most about XI over all the other MMO options. I hate questing to level, and it just doesn't make sense to me why it's so over used. Either way you look at it you're still grinding, but at least in EXP parties you're learning your roll. I don't see why they couldn't have at least kept it as a competitive option, but I guess not everyone can be pleased at the same time.
I miss this old school aspect of getting in a group with some people...and grinding the shit out of mobs.
Actually more than anything I miss those non instanced dungeons that you would take a 6 man party into, they were difficult and you had to find a good spot that wasn't taken...but the beauty of them was that you had to have everyone preforming their role correct to get good XP out of it. I miss having a dedicated puller who could keep the flow of mobs without overloading the tank but pushing his boundries...dedicated cc to cover accidental pulls or pats...ect
Only thing (imo) that this game is really missing. Hopefully the harder dungeons will be more like this and less "maximum speed and efficiency. skip all mobs possible to race to the end boss and down him in the fastest most boring way possible"
Aside from what Mjin said, I'm almost to my first 50 and done with probably 75% (that's probably low) of quests meant for leveling (quests that require 50s don't count). The only quests I haven't done are in LL.
As long as overworld grinding is slightly less viable as the other options I'd be ok with it. For FATEs you have to sit around and wait for them to pop, whereas with a party you can just keep killing stuff as often as repops allow. When one method becomes better than the other people will follow the path of least resistance, and it's already been stated numerous times throughout beta that they would rather people participate in content than randomly killing stuff.
I'd be ok with an xp bump for monsters as long as it doesn't supercede dungeons or FATEs in terms of XP/hr.
Never said i was happy about "FATE Trains", personally i would like FATE xp nerfed, dungeon and quest xp boosted slightly and party areas added into the game as well as xp from pvp (haven't don't any so i can't say weather or not there is)
The more options there is to level the less likely one is to burn out when leveling all different classes.
