The maintenance was to fix disconnect issues. Not login issues.

She's right, we try and try and try then eventually it's like " Nahhh since you're an persistent douche I'm not loading your group list "

So now I'm going to wait for someone from SE to explain unable to update character list errors. Whiteknights are so annoying.

This is probably very true.

Now the new question arises, why hasn't this magical fix everything patch fixed the 1017's?
Came back from work, 5 hours after maint ended, open client - 2002 client closed
Restart and get unable to update character list - again
Restart and now 1017's over and over

Wasnt this the patch that turns everything into rainbows and butterflies:confused::confused: Clearly not. And they add one damn world to JP data center and 2 to NA/EU data center and suddenly worlds aren't going to be full anymore? Lots of thought went into that one...

This wont end until they put in the prolonged afk kicks.
