Wait until you find yourself in a party with 7 of the most incompetent players in the game each time you sign up. Not only are they not bright, but they don't know how to play their class well, or it's their first time. You'll be in the dungeon for 30-40 minutes longer than it takes a normal group of players, but when you get to the final boss, they start DCing or the LSD they took before the dungeon finally kicks in and you fail. 30-40 minutes down the drain.

That's part of the game. If you don't want to run into that don't use the feature.

Well in that case Dargoth, why not a system which searches IN-world. Surely that is something a bit more in between. You get to have a streamline party search engine, and it is kept within your community.

If anything, those good players you play with, you can play with again and again

I had many groups in FF11 that didn't know how to play, that AFK multiple times for long periods, hell I remember getting a group to do Promy-V it took me like 4 hours and then 1 of the people AFK'd and didn't come back.

That's what happens when you play with other people, shit happens.

People always go on about how good the community was in 11 and yea it wasn't bad, but it was no frikkin picnic either, elitism ran wild everywhere and if your class wasn't in the select few you were SOL.

I think if SE want to encourage casuals then it makes perfect sense to make the game as accessible as possible, which probably included cross server/world party systems.

I've ran into similar situations in this game. I was in random party with a bunch a French players and they kept dying over and over during this one leve because they wouldn't turn the difficulty down. Also I've come across assholes in behest, that wouldn't party up and go off and kill all the mobs, keeping EXP for themselves.

Both systems have their pros and cons, but I rather have an option to team up whenever I want, especially down line when some people leave the game. What SE needs to do is look at other games, see what players gripe about when it comes to cross server grouping and see what they can do to limit those gripes.

It'll happen even more with people that sign up for a dungeon and you're placed into a party with random people you've never met. Not only do you not know their playstyles, but these people in particular might go AFK more often or permanently half-way through.

If you're familiar with middle-high school groups at public schools where the teacher picks your partners for you, you might find yourself in a group with someone who's sub-par and often copies off you or is borderline mental. Grouping with this kid is like using the cross-world group finder. You're better off finding a group in town and checking out/chatting up the players before you join up, or partying with friends you're familiar with.

Doing a dungeon without communication could be possible, but it certainly won't be smooth. I don't know why anyone would want to set themselves up for an experience like that.

If you read that dev post again that is coming FIRST. They are simply also thinking of adding cross server dungeon partying as well, they may have been fishing for a response and well they got one.

Personally like this idea if a measure of control if given to the player, some of the reasons why people don't like it seem a little silly. Being able to play with more people makes it feel like a single player MMO? That makes a lot of sense, the game does not change from one server to another it may give the illusion of being around more incompetent and rude players and that's what happens when you enlarge the pool. Same thing happens in MMOs that are very, very popular. Or any other kind of place where many people gather, c'est la vie.

Nice to see elitism is still well and alive in the FF Online community, props. /sigh It's right up there with people who don't want to play with other cultures and countries. Just let me play with who and what I know! Go ahead but if developers seriously listened to that they would do exactly what you fear, diminish playing with others. Contradictions are fun!

I don't know, with all this talk about how horrible it is, it sounds like people wouldn't use it that often. At least the ones against it.

The problem is they are trying to make this game more accessible and playable by all yet everytime they mention something new that will help this game become more popular everyone cries about it. It won't diminish any part of the game in its current and very lacking state. People are afraid it will be a WoW clone and that is literally impossible because the game is not even 1% like WoW and even with certain features added it would still be nothing like that game or any other.

Why won't it diminish the community? First of all I ask what community? Everyone plays in one LS for the most part of their time online and occasionally will group up with random people to do leves and talk with people in town. That isn't much of a community if you ask me. It won't take away from your LS comradely at all, so tell me how it would negatively effect FFXIV.

2) gives oportunity for ninja's.
They just have to make a better looting system that makes this not possible or easy.

3) player conduct.
Elitism is the problem and it is the players faults. It doesn't make people act this way because they are just being themselves. I see it everyday on my server and on these forums and this is not the cause of the problem.

4) It has been tried.
Tried by me and I am 100% for the system. For the most part the Final Fantasy community in general is different than most players of other MMOs. The people playing FFXIV currently are the die hard fans for the most part and the new players will also be likely more die hard FF fans. So with that in mind and with Yoshida behind working on the system I bet you that it will be an improved upon feature than will be better than the other renditions in other MMOs.

So before you knock it and flame it why don't you give our new director a chance to implement it, looting features, and other things that go along with this a chance?(one which I have a lot of faith in to revive this game to its proper glory)
