Every MMO at launch has problems, Every single one. Granted this one has done nothing to solve theirs in the week they have launched. I too am reaching a point where I can't sit spend more time trying to log into a game than actually playing a game. I now understand the people that do not log out for any reason, I should have doing the same thing.
This is the worst? Really? Not WoW with 3 months of the Terrible Twelve? Or SWTOR - a game with more down time than up in the first week? Not Error 37? Or Rift or DCUO or Guild Wars 2?
Let me clue you in on something - the reason why every MMO has problems within the first few days/weeks. They don't share notes. They all have the same problems because some things are just difficult to get right with guess work. Beta Weekend 4? Completely fine. EGA? Suddenly there are a ton more people and you have a huge problem. But it's not like they can call up Blizzard and ask what they did to solve the issues.
I have never played an MMO/Online game that my friends and I could all reliably log in to within the first few days of launch with no problems. If you have, congratulations. But if you have so much of a problem with these kinds of things you should just wait a month or two before buying an MMO and save yourself some heart ache.
Did anyone honestly expect there to be no to little issues in the beginning of launch?
From what I've been reading around the forums there is a 10 hour maintenance scheduled for tomorrow which should go some way to patching things up. Hopefully! Don't lose faith, it's far from the end of the world, it's only officially been out 1 week now, give them a little time. I'm not even gonna bother trying to sign in again until the weekend, there's a hell of a lot of things you can do away from your computer so my advice would be to just take a break from it for a while.
Never seen a MMO launched this badly, not even Diablo III was this bad, I didn't play SWTOR or Rift, but GW2 was flawless, some rare server crash but you could log back in after 30 min/max and then play for hours whitout problems.
Also keep in mind the GW2 had (and still have) MUCH more concurrent users logging in at the same time.
The only problem it had was the TP down for a week, but you could play it, any time, any day, 0 maintenance ecc.
So no excuses, this is not how MMO launch usually, this is 10x worse then anything I've ever seen, not even the 1.0 was this bad.
They should have fix this crap 8 days ago, then we could call it a bad launch like many other mmo.
No. FF14 launched back then. Now, we have a re-launch of an MMO (something almost unheard of) that everyone was expecting to be an underdog. SE shot for conservative launch numbers (something not entirely unheard of for any MMO). Instead, the game found an influx of folks looking to play. It's easier (from a business and technical stand point) to scale up, than down. Yeah it's annoying that I can't login right when I want to everytime, but you should be the one to "get a fuckin clue" if you step back and look at the bigger picture here.
