Error 1017 evolved: You wouldn't think it could get any worse...

Was 1017'd at the press start screen followed by 2002 when I logged back into the launcher. lolz.

Don't worry give it a month and the server is full issue will be fixed due to the fact that players in droves got frustrated and left\uninstalled FF14 especially after their free 30 days expires

It's not worth getting pissed off over. But it is frustrating. Me (and others) have been dealing constantly with these endless errors since the last beta phase. And a lot of us are going to be running out of patience here pretty soon.

It doesn't help that the servers in Japan run so good by contrast either. I have been trying to get into my NA one all day today. The one time I did get on... I just got disconnected shortly after by yet another error. It took a single try to get on the japaneese server. No errors. No disconnects. No lag. It was flawless.

I have a real hard time understanding why they can do one set of servers so well, and fail so abysmally at the other. It certainly hints at an imbalance of priorities in the very least.

We need another 30 days free please, thanks Naoki Yoshida!

Gotten pretty much every error in the book over the past half an hour, i wouldn't mind this happening on occasion but it's at least once a day and it's getting really old really fast.

You see, that is the type of illogical thinking I almost feel Square Enix has. You do not say, wait it out and people will stop playing if you want an MMO to be successful. What kind of crap is that? You've got to be kidding me if you want FFXIV to turn out that way, Pogues. That is the path to FREE TO PLAY.

You think you had it bad? I got 1017 at the character select screen and the screen wouldn't even load. I had to hit esc -> 0 to get out.

Bear in mind the time differences. The NA servers you are attempting to log into are likely in a high usage time for your time zone, whereas that JP server was probably in the middle of the night and thus not currently under stress.

I think it means all worlds login servers are down
