You can use "place" to move your pet onto the pad to dispell the Doom.

The only way I've found to get around the Aurum problem right now is to use Swiftcast to get her back out and keep her alive with Sustain + Adloquium as long as possible. Then you need to try and consider if she's more of a liability or a help at that point. It's just a crap situation in general.

But this is a separate issue from Scholars "not being competitive with WHM" and I agree it needs to be addressed by the dev team.

No, Scholar heals are perfectly fine. What needs a buff is Leeches, because right now that's just a pointless knock off of Esuna, something which could easily have been given to Scholar in the same manner as Cleric Stance.

Either, like I said, remove it and give Scholar Esuna and something more useful (Sacred Prism for Stoneskin, but I'd rather that be a cross class skill again, not that it matters with Bard being screwed over), or following a similar style to how Succor is just Medica with a Scholar unique effect, give Leeches something to make it stand out. It's called Leeches, have it leech status effects off your party member giving us a special status effect related to the removed status effect. Have that grant an additional affect to Succor and/or Sacred Soil; Succor removes that status effect from all party members within range, Sacred Soil grants an additional resistance to that status effect for party members within its range.

please listen and consider what he has to say our fairies are the bread & butter of this class the way you move around the battlefield is entirely up to you if you pet is dying that means you are obviously in range to attract aggro to yourself and your pet is the one taking the dmg not only that but if you watch your pets health in the corner every now and then and just give her a little healing boost she will be fine plus she heals herself so there really is no issue

And I gave an example earlier where this does not work: Aurum's first boss.

For the good of my future parties, I'm not going to queue there as SCH anymore because we are the inferior healer to WHM where our Fairy is guaranteed to die right after a resummon and everyone is taking such persistent damage. If SE is striving to balance classes, this is an issue that does need to be fixed.

Just a little tip, if you keep a shield on your pet, it won't die AT ALL during Aurum first or last boss (Even with 7+ stacks, my pet never died). I usually do this with Succor II... I agree that our pets A.I needs to be buffed, Selene doesn't even cast her second buff, only the first one if shes not on steady. I feel like she should cast one, and then the other in 30 seconds. But instead she just doesn't cast the other buff AT ALL.. Eos is fine though, shes my boo.

I've done Aurum's first boss without my pet out, fight is easy enough that you don't actually need it. You also have time to resummon it if the tank pops a defensive cooldown after everyone removes poison and you heal him up first. Or you could level THM to get the invaluable Quickcast which lets you resummon it instantly(or instantly rez people, which is what you'll use it for most of the time). If you're having issues healing as a Scholar, it's definitely a skill issue, not a class issue. Can't comment on Garuda hard or Bahamut coils though.

So give scholars even more? No thanks. They already mathematically out class white mages in every way, not only that, they have a fairy to help outclass them even further. Also, lets not forget this IMPORTANT fact, as of now, white mage literally has 2-3 UNIQUE abilities to itself, every other ability we have can be cross classed by everyone and scholar included. Scholars do not need more, they are fine, it's a player issue with macro-ing the pet among other things such as using the shields to mitigate damage rather than heal reactively. Scholar's are PROACTIVE healers, white mages are REACTIVE healers, aka they heal only AFTER a target has taken damage or begin casting as they are about to be hit, scholars are the opposite, you can heal prior to the damage occurring and largely if not fully mitigate the damage and stop it from occurring (especially on a paladin who is decently geared).

White mages already lost almost everything unique they have, currently they just have Regen, Esuna (secondary effect only, the main effect is the same in every situation I've seen), and Stronger AoE healing (which isn't really unique but i'm grasping at straws here, that's how bad it is). You guys got cleric's stance after all your complaining, now stop complaining and learn to play your class, PROACTIVELY and stop trying to play like a white mage and you'll realize you're fine, you don't need more.

Edit: Forgot to add one thing, scholars have a million and one ways to keep their mp going forever, even through long and drawn out fights. White mages have shroud of saints regen (which then is using it to regen mp and not for it's main purpose of reducing aggro) and ethers, which as we all know, are pretty horrendous since their mp recovery limit is capped.

The only problems I run into is when a group takes massive amount of aoe damage, a small heal + shield isn't going to get me caught up, I need a big aoe heal and if i'm using Eos, the regen is usually on cd when i need it because it's autocasted.

The way I feel about Scholar right now (I've done all relic fights so far with only Garuda and Titan left, several Amdapor runs, and main story finished) is that we're a great support healer, but as a solo healer we are lackluster. If you have a choice between 1 WHM /or/ 1 SCH, pick the WHM (aka 4 mans), if you can have both then one of each is better of two of the same. A WHM can spam regens on people and medica/cure 3 to get people caught up when they take mass aoe damage such as Garuda astral flow or when adds pop on Demon Wall. A Scholar falls behind. I do Amdapor on both Scholar and White Mage, but find White Mage significantly better as a solo healer. We also lack Shell, which is huge.

Did you miss the part where I'm not complaining about healing or something? I mean, I literally opened with "No, Scholar heals are perfectly fine". Or would you care to explain how Leeches can be used pro-actively instead of reactively? Since Scholar being pro-active seems to be the crux of your rantings, which is hilarious considering what my post focuses on.

I was only offering suggestions on how Leeches could be different from the cheap Esuna knock-off it currently is, having it so Leeches provides a status effect which prevents 1 negative status effect from taking hold (so, making it exactly the same, but a pro-active spell) would actually be fine. Besides pet mechanics being out right broken on occasion (which other people have already voiced enough, so I wont repeat it), Leeches being a pathetic excuse for a Job Ability is really my only concern with Scholar right now (well, that and the inane Intelligence boost traits).

Am I not allowed to offer suggestions on improving Scholar because some White Mages are butt hurt? Christ, not even a month and already the same Scholar verses White Mage crap from XI has found its way here...
