you cannot just add more servers to let people play.
new characters will not be able to finish the level 10 quest because it relies on the instance servers that are already crashing under load. adding more servers and adding more people will only hurt the instancing.
the solo quests needing the duty finder servers was the mistake really.

This is why for every product or game that has actual bugs or server issues beyond congestion, they fix the issues first before adding more resources to handle the load. This is not a simple home PC fix where you throw in more RAM and a better video card; this is software designed to operate across several sever machines which make up a single game world, and then communicate with several other server machines for log in, duty finder, etc. When one of these is not configured to properly support the software that they're meant to run, it fucks everything up.Quote:

That said, it doesn't mean I wouldn't like more servers, especially if they were allowing transfers to allow for better load balancing; I've got friends who've been trying to get onto Gilgamesh so my whole group could play together since about 6am saturday morning, with absolutely no luck, and we'd love for the chance to all actually play together without those of us who were in P4 having to lose all progress. -
