On a side note, are you able to rename them? Eos and Selene are cute enough names, but I like to personalize.

Man... My nitpicks about Scholar are so trivial compared to pet mechanics, lol...
Enhances Intelligence trait, completely worthless with Cleric Stance. Should either be changed for Scholar, or like Maim and Mend it should do both for Arcanist (and thus both Jobs). It's a small amount of stats, but it's three wasted traits in my opinion, coupled with things like Physick and Leeches being nothing more than copies of Conjurer spells (Leeches for no reason, Physick at least gives Black Mage a Cure, even if that makes no sense), it does start to annoy me a bit...
Summon and Summon II icons, really wish these would change with the Jobs to reflect what's being summoned... Same for the party member icon, I'm summoning fairies, not carbuncles.
So I just got done running Toto-Rak for the first time as a Scholar and figured I'd share some of my thoughts.
I primarily used Selene and interestingly enough on the majority of the Trash pulls I didn't need to do much. She took care of the most of the healing by herself and I only needed to toss out the occasional spot heal. On the final boss fight I did have to focus more of my attention on healing. I did try out Eos a few times and her AoE HoT heal was a very nice buffer for the Poison Damage. One big thing I noticed about both the pets is they definitely seem to draw a LOT of aggro, especially Eos. Now I'm not sure if this was simply due to the tank sucking or what, but Eos would consistently pull aggro after using her AoE Heal. I think of the two Selene is definitely my favorite with her Spell Speed buff.
Overall... very happy with the Scholar. I will agree with a lot of people that it would be nice to have more control over the pets though.
selene is probably my favorite, since she doesn't automatically cast her spells... but right now eos is more useful because of the aoe heal (i'm only 32)
My feelings about the job:
Adloquium is pretty much useless in its current state. It's so ineffective. It costs so much mana for so little healing (even including the shield).
The fairy control is horrible. Why can't we control it while we cast spells? What is the point of having a pet if you can't control it and have to leave it on auto to not feel like you are wasting too much healing.
Embrace have a 3 second recast time. This is longer than most casts so if you are casting DoT's or Heals on every GCD you will lose out on so much healing from the pet if you have it on manual.
I'm torn on the aetherflow mechanic. While it's nice to have another mechanic to keep track of I have trouble to see it's usefulness when we only get three every minute with four spells that consumes it.
I don't know what the devs were thinking not giving us Leeches until lvl 40... Not being able to cleanse debuffs from atleast the tank can be quite devastating.
well before I started playing this game, pet control was my main concern because I really wanted to roll a scholar because all the stuffs seems so fun and useful ( separated fairy's heals, AoE spell buff, AoE defense buff ).
I chickened out and roll a CNJ/WHM instead because of these reasons.
I really hope this issues get fixed soon ( I think WoW pet management system can be good example ) and I will enjoy playing as SCH in the future!
