I haven't used any wards in 3 months and that hasn't caused me any problems so far. I'm just glad I don't have to see that place.

I don't use the wards in Gridania much, since I am not there much due to it being mostly deserted (a vicious cycle, that!). But the wards in Limsa are actually pretty active from what I've seen. Definitely not as full as Ul'dah's, but I sometimes leave my retainer there to sell and I have a decent chance of finding what I want to buy. Just yesterday I was looking for two specific and somewhat uncommon crafting mats and I was able to find them both in Limsa.
Now that you can summon retainers while they are selling, I find it a lot more convenient to put my retainer outside of Ul'dah.
I see more retainers up in Limsa than in Grid on my server, but obviously Uldah blow Limsa out of the water :T
It's better for the game economy to use a single market.
I'm from Gridania but I usually sell in Ul'Dah. However I had to pull my retainers from Gridania since my inv was full. From there they could either stay off duty or set up shop in Gridania. I was going to sell logs and clothes, so maybe the logs would have sold.
I have a few characters from Gridania, so yes, I put mine in there. And when I need something I check the wards there.
I would rather not add to the lack of population in Gridania.
I am on Besaid. ^-^
Random idea: What if they made a free teleport between wards, but you could only exit through the ward you entered? (So you don't get a free teleport to another city, but access to the wards.)
From withing the wards, go to the door where it asks you if you want to leave or search, but also have the option "Teleport Limsa/Gridania Ward," where you can park your retainer and search items there.
Edit: Meh, decided to make a thread about it. Maybe the community reps will see, and maybe people can add more ideas.

Nope, nobody uses Limsa Lominsa or Gridania anymore, they're all packed into Ul'dah. That's what the problem is. What's so great about Ul'dah anyway, compared to the other two? Personally, the desert landscape is the least appealing to me, out of all three areas, but that's how it goes, I suppose. Square Enix should work on discovering what it is about Uld'ah that has players flocking over there and balancing things out so that players can enjoy all three cities equally.
And when Ishgard comes out, depending on what you can do around the city, it'll probably become the Jeuno of this game. I think that's inevitable. Since it's new content, Square Enix will want to make it more appealing than the other cities, and the rest will come.
I hate desert in every game
make me hot and lonely
